========== Twitter-like entries for 29th June 2009 ========== Written on the command line using Vim (Linux text editor) ------------------------------ 17:00 BST I'm back home again now. This experiment, apart from the problem with O2 apparently blocking port 22, seems to have gone well. My back pack took a short while to get used to, but is comfortable to wear. Using my netbook with the O2 mobile broadband dongle seems to have been successful, and writing these updates using the Vim text editor is simple. If my enthusiasm stays high on the day, and the weather is OK, I look set for a nice day out on Thursday and/or Friday, and I'll be able to send notes like this to my blog while I am out. 16:33 BST On last leg of journey home. Train approaching London Bridge. This train is cooler than the last, but still hot and stuffy. The previous train seemed to have the heating on in the rear four carriages. 16:07 BST Now on the train home. Just pulling into Vauxhall station. Train very hot and stuffy !! 13:34 BST I am now sitting inthe park. The sun has gone in for the moment, but it is still hot and bright - almost too bright to use the screen on this netbook. 09:20 BST It's nice and cool in the office now. (This is mainly just a test update sent using Putty with my netbook booted up using Windows XP) 07:52 BST That's better ! I have now connected via a higher number port, and it seems O2 is happy to connect an ssh session this way. Must try and remember the space key is crap on my netbook ! 07:37 BST Bad news. Tried to connect to server while on train using O2 dongle, but connection refused. Must look into this. Maybe try opening up a high number port on firewall and see if O2 allow that. At work now. Getting very warm outside. Thank goodness for my new air con unit !
