page 11 of 32 Having admired the beach at Birchington On Sea I continued walking towards the horizon. The two people who you can just see on the promenade in the distance were I couple I spoke to briefly along the way. It turned out that they knew Catford having lived for some time in Forest Hill which is just a couple of miles away from where I live.
