10:00 BST

Yesterday included some unexpected sunny spells. Now and then it was really rather nice, but rather less so at other times. There were none of the forecast thunderstorms, and most of the rain that did fall was fairly light. The afternoon temperature rose to 20° C.
bright and sunny
The latest revision of the forecast for today has hardly changed the early version in the screenshot above. It seems that today will be bright and dry with many long periods of sunshine. That should take the afternoon temperature up to 22° C (sadly not the 23° C shown in the earlier forecast). Tomorrow should be very similar to today apart from a few hours when the sun will be hidden behind white clouds. The day should still make 22° C again.

I have a slightly stressful and/or busy day yesterday. On the other hand, it was a productive day. I never did get to Aldi, but I did pop out to Poundstretcher in the afternoon to buy more bird feed. I completed the bit of laundry I had started early yesterday morning. As I did it we had a fairly long period or long sunny spells, and I wondered if I dared to hang it on the line to dry, but by the time I was ready to do that the clouds had closed in again. I dried it on a clothes horse indoors, but I only used a fan to dry it instead of a fan heater.

A big chunk of my time was spent in my "digital darkroom" going through almost the rest of the pictures I took at Petts Wood Calling. There are a few left that I could do, but that would probably be overkill. I ended up making three photo albums yesterday (to add to the fourth I completed the day before). I took a hell of a lot of pictures of Run For Cover, and that was good and bad. It enabled me to select the best, and discard any that would need a lot of work to make them presentable.
Des
                                      Hanna
I knew this picture was special, and I did spent a little extra time working on it. It paid off because Des Hanna, the man in the photo, has used it as a profile picture on a certain social media site. He is the lead singer and guitarist for Run For Cover, who also appear as Glamstar, and are a very well regarded (and paid) band on the local, and not so local music circuit. So it is a bit of a prestigious picture for me.
Michael
                                      Chapman
This is Michael Chapman, the rhythm guitarist for Run For Cover/Glamstar.  It would be a real thrill if he used this picture as a profile picture too...although it is not ideal because he is not facing the camera.
Angela
This is another picture I am rather proud of. In the centre of the frame Angela is giving me a nice smile while lover boy just stares ahead. A few seconds later Angela waved, and lover boy turned to smile at me.
Simon
                                      Whitestar
This is Simon Whitestar of Whitestar. He, and indeed the rest of the band, are not so photogenic as some of the other bands. I don't know if it was the changing light as the end of the afternoon was approaching, but I was not happy with my photos of Whitestar. Apart from Roy Dalley, who does throw some good poses, the band tends to be very static, and it feels like once you have taken one picture, you have taken them all. The partial answer was to go for some unusual shots.
Whitestar and audience
I did a similar shot to this for The Ferrets, but that had the added excitement (!) of being taken in the pouring rain. I included that picture in Sunday's blog/diary/whatever. I think I included a bit more foliage in this picture, and no rain !

I had to take some breaks to rest my eyes while wading through my photos, and I think at least one break turned into a snooze (and one was when I went to Poundstretcher). I was relieved I had was a lot less shutter happy when it came to Whitestar. I got through their photos fairly fast compared to the Run For Cover set. One thing that made time seem to drag a bit was feeling hungry. At one point I couldn't snooze because my stomach was rumbling.

I didn't let a bit of food pass my lips until dinner time, when, as planned, I had mostly lentil soup for dinner - two cans of it, plus a can of pea and ham soup. Experience had shown that those soups don't raise my blood glucose, and after the shock, albeit slightly predictable shock of my very high blood glucose in the morning, I really wanted to get it down as fast as possible. Later on I did treat myself to a chunk of smoked cheese.

At this point I would usually say something about my sleep, but I can't think that much to say. I remember dreaming, but not what the dreams were about. Probably the most significant thing was that for the umpteenth morning in the rather cool August, I turned the heating on when I woke for a pee at around 5am. I guess I was feeling a bit cool then, and with a bit of extra warmth I managed to oversleep until just before 8am. Not that it mattered.

I was extra curious, and hopeful about my blood glucose this morning. My eating regime yesterday worked better than expected. My blood glucose was down to 7.1mmol/l. I haven't seen it that low in the morning for years. My self imposed target is 7.5mmol/l, but ideally it should be more like 6.5mmol/l - the sort of level a non diabetic would see. I am reluctant to say I feel better for it because there are other good reasons for feeling the way I do.

A dry day with sunshine is always a good reason to feel good, and having a lay in usually helps too. Of course some of it is an illusion, probably self delusion. The first thing I did this morning, after getting washed and dressed, was to go to Tesco to get a few supplies. I seemed to walk to Tesco with ease, even at a fairly face pace. That seemed very encouraging, but having got my shopping I found my legs and knee were starting to complain when I tried to match the pace coming home.

This morning I've had some breakfast. It was some cod in batter, and it was not as good as fish fingers. It was made by Youngs, who are well known for their fish, but I found it disappointing. I hope it will only have had the same very small affect on my blood glucose as I know fish fingers have (maybe on when eaten for breakfast). Once I have finished writing I will finish the laundry I have started, and get it on the line to dry while the sun is shining. After that I may do one of two things. The best thing would be to strim the lawn. It is well overdue for a severe strimming. On the other hand I am tempted to go out and test the walk from Bickley Station to The Lord Holmesdale pub where I might go on Friday evening for a gig.
