Yesterday's  weather forecast could not have been more wrong ! True, they did correctly forecast the light rain at the very start of the day, but after that they got nothing right until about 6pm when indeed the sun did break through to give a rather nice evening. All the rain after the early morning just never happened. It was certainly cloudy for most of the day, but it was still often bright even if not actually sunny. The temperature soon reached 17° C, and it may have peaked close to 20° C.

This morning has certainly started off bright and sunny, but it is also a cool start. My thermometers say 10° C, and that is a degree higher than forecast. It seems we may lose any sunshine in a few hours, and the afternoon may be extremely dull. Only an almost chilly 14° C are forecast for the afternoon, and that seems very poor compared to recent days. By 1am tomorrow morning the temperature may be down to 9° C. Tomorrow morning could start with bright sunshine, and it should last until midday. The afternoon may be medium dull, but with 18° C expected it should feel warmer. sunny spells could return at 5pm tomorrow, and continue until sunset.

Yesterday was yet another day which didn't go as originally expected, and it was partly due to the weather, and it was also down to me, and that itself may have been influenced by the weather. The influence was part mental, and part physical.

After I finished writing yesterday's piece I still had time to have a short rest, and then wash my hair and have a shower, while resting various things crossed my mind. One thing is that I could feel the expected bad weather in some on my joints. It is a thing you seem to learn to do when you get older. I also wondered if I really wanted to go to the pub in the rain, and I concluded I didn't.

Of course the bad weather didn't touch us in Catford, although the BBC news said that there were thunderstorms in north London, and some other places some way to the south of here. The fact that it was still dry and quite bright despite there not being any sunshine, just seemed to annoy me even more. The ultimate effect is that I did very little yesterday. Probably the best thing I achieved was to almost limit my appetite.....a bit !

I had a lunch that I was going to try and not have if I had gone to the pub, although I have to admit that after a couple of pints and some fresh air I am usually ravenous when I get home. At about 12:30pm I had two Ciabatta rolls with ham, mustard and salad. They were filling enough that I think they helped to reduce any afternoon snacking to a couple of small (22gm) packets of square crisps, and some peanuts. Of course just those two things would probably stop me loosing weight any weight.

My dinner was a sad affair. It was an Aldi frozen donor kebab kit........
donor kebab kit
It was sad on two accounts. The first was that it was not terribly good. It wasn't awful, and it was hard to enjoy. The really sad thing is that if anyone else buys one, who has never eaten a real donor kebab, they may get the impression that this is what a donor kebab is like. They will then miss out on one of life's most wonderful foods.

I was so disappointed with that donor kebab kit that I had a part 2 dinner. It was a couple of pork with cheese and jalapeño burgers with a large "salad" tomato. Those burgers were also not very nice, and yet they weren't that bad. Maybe they might have been nice in a good bun with some extra trimmings. The big salad tomato did help to break up the meal, but like I mentioned the last time I had one of those tomatoes (from the same pack) they are pretty flavourless, and only a good sprinkle of salt, something I rarely use, could save them from complete mediocrity...or worse.

I had another night of mainly watching TV. I saw the news at 6 O'clock, and it was hardly inspiring. Star Trek: Voyager was a......err, it was so dull I have forgotten all about the plot - if it had one. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine was a fair episode. It was the third episode of the series, and so the writers were still fresh. The Dave Channel seems to alternate editions of QI and Have I Got News For You. Last night it was QI on first, and with that ending at 10pm I went straight to bed when it finished.

I didn't try and go to sleep too soon because I became aware that the pork burger I had for the second part of my dinner was starting to cause some burping and acid indigestion. I spent a short while chewing a few Rennies tablets, and I also went to the toilet for what was mostly just a very big fart ! I was probably asleep some time after 10:30pm, but it might have been as late as 11pm.

I had one semi memorable dream last night, although I strongly suspect it was a series of dreams that featured a common theme, but no continuity of any form of story. In the dream(s) I was unwittingly playing host to youngsters from either Spain or Argentina. They spoke good English, and kept the kitchen spotlessly clean, although that sadly included them eating a bag of peanuts that I was looking forward to. The dream(s) were so random that all I can remember is an overview of them, rather than any detail.

It felt like I had done some very big pees in the night, and I am not sure if that was because the intervals between them were longer, or if I just had a lot more pee to dispose of. It was probably handy because when I weighed myself I appeared to have put on 600gm. I guess I can blame my double dinner for a lot of that.

All that peeing may have indicated a high blood glucose, but once again that seemed not to be true, or followed the usual utterances from doctors about diabetes. The Contour meter read 7.6mmol/l, and that is pretty good (by my standards, and not that bad in the real world either). The GlucoRX meter read a tiny bit higher at 7.7mmol/l, and I still regard that as very good. The Sinocare was, typically, the odd one out with a reading of 8.3mmol/l, but while not very nice, it was good enough.

This nice sunny morning should have almost finished by now (09:45), but I can't seem to recall any time when the sun has even dimmed for a second or two. Maybe we are running on luck because the sky is getting fairly cloudy now, although so far it seems to be fairly thin cloud that can sometimes let some hazy sunshine through. Maybe the sun is slightly hazy at the moment. It has still felt good and set the day off right to want to do stuff.

I have just been to the toilet, and it seems that I have lost 400 gms of of the 600gm I put on. Unfortunately I have eaten my breakfast, and won't change my official record now, but hopefully tomorrow may see a lower reading......unfortunately, the main thing about today is that it is Thursday, and that means a boozing session this afternoon. I don't think I have ever lost weight after a boozing session....and it usually plays havoc with my blood glucose reading as well.

There is another thing I shall be doing today that could also cause difficulties with weight and blood glucose management. I intend to go to Tesco this morning. There are a few things I definitely need, but that still leaves lots of opportunity to see and buy "interesting" stuff on the reduced price shelf, and other stuff that may not be good for me !
