Yesterday was a miserable day, or so it was forecast. The forecast said almost non stop rain until mid afternoon. There was actually less rain than that, although it always seemed damp outside. Like the morning, the afternoon was dull with horrible grey clouds covering 99.9% of the sky. The best part was that it still managed 18° C from mid afternoon.
  BBC_weather forecast
The forecast for today provides very little hope of even a slightly nice day, or bit of day, but... The forecast says almost black clouds as I write this, but we have just had a sunny spell. I must admit it looks unlikely we will get another, but maybe some small gap in the clouds will line up with the sun. Surprisingly, no rain at all is forecast for today. Late in the afternoon we may even get some sunny spells, and the temperature may reach 21° C - a warmth we haven't felt for ages. Tomorrow may even be a full respite from the woes of Autumn. There could be a lot of sunshine, and the temperature may reach 24° C.

Yesterday was one of those days..... A day when just the weather forecast banished all hope of anything but a miserable day. It certainly put the brakes on any ideas or intents that I had. I'm not sure I can say it was a completely lazy day, but I have nothing to show for it.

My intentions for yesterday were to get up, have breakfast, have a rest, and then wash my hair and have a shower. After that I could get dressed and walk, or maybe get the train to Ladywell, and then on to The Jolly Farmers and my usual Wednesday lunchtime couple of pints of Guinness. That never happened !

I think my brain must have been set to "Idle" for much of yesterday, because I can't seem to remember exactly what I did yesterday morning. I keep think that I must have had a shower, but if I did I could have done one of my objectives for yesterday. That would have been to go to the little supermarket on Catford Bridge. My original plan was to get the train back from Ladywell to Catford Bridge, and call into the supermarket on my way home.

A back up plan was to take a walk to the station, pick up a copy of The Metro, and then go to the mini supermarket. I was looking forward to topping up my fast dwindling supplies of instant noodles. The insurmountable hurdle was that the forecast threatened persistent rain, and it would also be a bit cold out. I can usually ignore that when I have a strong desire to do something, but nothing seemed important enough yesterday.

Instead of going for at least a shower, I laid down on my bed, and started reading. I fully expected to have a snooze once I had read a few pages. I did have a snooze later, but I suddenly realised I had just about reached the erotic part of the book where the female human "couples" with the alien man - who is also part female because these male aliens, who could otherwise be just ordinary human males, have a horizontal vagina in the belly area, plus a normal penis lower down.

The description of the sex act between the two is "intriguing", but also rather short. I think on a second reading, it is less erotic than when I first read the book, but still a little bit exciting. I read on to the end of the chapter, and than had my snooze. As far as I can recall it was completely dreamless sleep. Had it been night sleep I may have conjured up a dream featuring an alien. Maybe I didn't because as far as I can tell the alien females were equipped exactly the same as Earth born females.

It was too late for elevenses when I woke, and a little bit early for dinner, but I had dinner anyway. There was a reason for it, and it was that I wanted some ice cream for dinner (I have no idea why - just greed or something), and having the ice cream early would give me a better chance of a fair blood glucose reading in the morning. I was sort of playing with fire because it was the rest of the Bakewell Tart flavour ice cream, and that seemed to have a terrible effect on my blood glucose yesterday morning after eating it the day before yesterday.

Apart from spending a little time with fluffy cat yesterday afternoon, I did very little yesterday afternoon - except for more reading, both from book and internet. I seemed to have no enthusiasm for anything yesterday. It may have been because I had started the morning with very high blood glucose, and that makes me feel sluggish, and then I had topped that up with the ice cream for lunch.

It was also the filthy grey clouds, and the rain and drizzle that sapped any enthusiasm, although there was hardly any rain after mid to late morning. Even without rain it was still very murky outside, and only bright sunshine might have enthuse me a bit, and maybe enough to do "something". I essentially lazed all afternoon until I turned the TV on to watch Star Trek on the Legend channel.

As 6pm, and the 6 O'clock news approached I had a dilemma about what to eat. I had to choose between some corned beef rissoles (or whatever they were called), or a liver, bacon and mash ready meal. Both seemed to be quite small, and so I had both. The corned beef rissoles (that looked like fish cakes) may have been almost substantial, bit maybe only if used as a sandwich filling. The liver and bacon was very small, and only the mash saved it from being a two mouthful meal.

In a sane and sensible world, perhaps one I will enter if I start the slimming injections next week, maybe I might think of the two parts of yesterday's dinner as two complete meals to be eaten alone. I am very sure I didn't have a dessert because even I knew that another dose of ice cream would do me no good. I did have a small lump of aged Gouda cheese to nibble on at the end of dinner.

My evening was spent watching TV. Some of it was good-ish, and some mere filler. The last thing I watched was QI, and that finished at 10pm. I went straight to bed, but I was not so tired that I couldn't read as much as another chapter of the book I am reading. Then I turned the light out, and with my bedroom seemingly at an ideal temperature, I fell asleep quickly and easily.

It was notable that I was only disturbed to get up for a pee only a few times in the night, and each pee was very average in size (or so it seemed). That gave some hope that maybe my blood glucose had come down the previous morning's high. I do remember having one dream last night, although the memory of it seems fragmented, but it is easy to fill in the gaps even if doing so was actually changing the meaning of the dream.

I must admit that There are bits of the dream that were possibly symbolic that I have interpreted as an actual part of the plot. That assumes there was actually a plot. It feels like I woke up once or more in the dream, and partly drove the rest of the dream by what I thought I remembered. I am very sure that the dream was set in Windsor, in or around Windsor castle, and involved Trump.

In the dream I was taking photographs like a tourist. A couple of snaps featured a big black car, and what I saw in the car was a lot of frozen soft drinks. From then on my imagination filled in the gaps and the reasons for it all. The plot I came up with was that the frozen soft drinks were a favourite of young girls, and they were for Trump to lure under age girls to him for his illegal sexual pleasures.

This morning was yet another morning when I woke up too early. It was partly because I was feeling a bit too cool. Had I managed to stay asleep another 30 second I may not have needed to wake up. When I checked the heater I found that even just laying on a single finger was enough to trip the thermostat to on, and soon the room would warm up. While it did I dis some of my usual routine. I went to the toilet, twice in the space of maybe half an hour, and then weighed myself. Initially I thought I had put some weight on, but after the second pee (and not poo yet) I found I was 100gm lighter than yesterday.

My blood glucose readings were very pleasing. The Contour meter read a very nice 7.3mmol/l - a lot lower than yesterday's horrendous 9.9mmol/l. The GlucoRX meter read a bit higher, but 7.7mmol/l is still very good. The GlucoFix meter read a magnificent 6.9mmol/l. That is only just in the dark green on my spreadsheet colour code, and only the second time this month. The other measurement is my blood pressure. It was initially slightly high because I tried to do it while needing the toilet. After the toilet, and a bit of time to relax, it was a rather good 118/46.

I think my plan for today is to have my usual rest after I finish writing this. Then I will go to the bathroom, which is less bloody chilly after closing the window yesterday afternoon *, and wash my hair and have a shower. Once dried and dressed I can finally go to the little supermarket on Catford Bridge via Catford Bridge station. At the station I might get a snap or two of some trains - and maybe one will be a train I need for my collection.

 * Closing the window also has the added benefit of keeping the autumn spiders out - hopefully. I have had to despatch too many spiders in the last few months !

This afternoon I am expecting Jodie, and probably Michael around for a beer tasting session. We may well be joined by fluffy cat, and it is possible that Alan or mark might join us too. It will be good to drink a few more of the beers in the fridges because more are on their way - possibly arriving tomorrow. I may also get a small Amazon delivery tomorrow as well - which between the two of them could ruin any chance of going out in tomorrow's forecast hot sunshine.
