My Electronic Diary For December 2025

Monday 15th December 2025
 08:40 GMT

Yesterday started out rather cool, but bright and sunny. From midday the sky was too cloudy to let any sunshine through, but it had warmed up from 7° C to 11° C. By 3pm the temperature dipped a degree, and another degree by 5pm, but then it went up again to end the day back at 11° C. As far as I can recall, not a single drop of rain fell yesterday.
 BBC_weather forecast
It is very murky outside. I can't actually see any rain falling, but it may just be fine drizzle. It certainly looks very grey and very damp outside. It is 9:44am as I write this (where has half the morning gone ?) and my thermometers say it is only a tenth of a degree less than 12° C. That is quite mild, and if we had full sunshine it might even feel slightly warm, but the chances of any sunshine appear to be zero today. The forecast says drizzle for much of the time until this afternoon when it may be dry, but still very grey outside. The temperature may rise a degree at 11am, and then the temperature may be constant until into the night. Tomorrow is going to start very wet, and 10° C is forecast. The rain may continue until 6pm, but the temperature may start to fall at 3pm. By midnight it may still be dry, but the temperature may fall to just 4° C.

I think I could dare to describe yesterday as a fairly good day. My health still seemed a bit precarious, but nothing too bothersome, and there were signs that it was improving, at least for a short while. Even the afternoon beer session with Jodie was better than some, and I had a great sleep last night. My whole day, or at least all I can remember of it, is described, along with notes about last night and this morning, in my complete archived page for today.
Sunday 14th December 2025
 11:27 GMT

Yesterday started out bright and sunny, but it did little for the temperature. The afternoon peaked at just 9° C. Even before sunset the temperature was dropping, and by 7pm it was down to 6° C. By mid evening the sky seemed to be clear, and at midnight the temperature actually rose to 7° C.
 BBC_weather forecast
This morning we have had, and are still having some nice periods of sunshine. The sky it currently a patchwork of about 50% cloud and 50% blue sky. The sunny periods could continue for longer than forecast. This morning started at 8° C according to my thermometers, and now they say 10° C. I presume we are on track for an afternoon high of 11° C. This afternoon, and for the rest of the day will be cloudy, possibly just light cloud, and the temperature may bob up and down between 9 and 11° C. Tomorrow may feature thicker cloud, but no rain is forecast. The temperature may rise to 10° C for most of the morning, and then it will rise to a very constant 11° C for the rest of the day.

Yesterday was a bad day, or at least that was the conclusion by the end of the day. I am starting to have more trouble from (presumably) my faulty heart valve. It didn't give much trouble during much of the day, but popping out into the cold to cut up a box for the recycling bin caused a few pains. My day is more fully described, together with notes about my night, and this morning, in my complete archived page for today.
Saturday 13th December 2025
 08:38 GMT

Maybe I was snoozing at the time, but I don't recall any of the forecast light rain at the start of the afternoon, yesterday. I do remember a couple of brief sunny spells in the morning. Other than that it was a rather dull day. The day started fairly mild at 11° C, and the afternoon saw a tiny rise to 12° C. From about 4pm the temperature slowly dropped, and fell to just 6° C by midnight.
 BBC_weather forecast
This morning there are two slightly different versions of the forecast. The Met Office predicted mist, but the BBC (screen shot above) didn't mention it. The air temperature was just 5° C this morning, but the surface temperature seemed low enough for a thin frost. It is beautifully sunny as I write this, and we should get full sunshine until sun set at 3.51pm. Sadly, the sun will only warm the day up to 9° C by midday, and once the sun has set the temperature will fall to 6° C by 7pm, but at midnight it is shown as rising to 7° C. By 6am tomorrow it may be 8° C, and it will rise to 10° C by 11am. It will stay at 10° C until the end of the day. Like today, tomorrow should be a completely dry day, but obviously rather chilly.

Yesterday was not a great day, but it was mostly satisfactory. There were things I was intending to do but didn't, and there were things I did do that I hadn't really planned to do. With a few exceptions that I will mention further down the page, I seemed to feel moderately good for a fair bit of yesterday. As usual, my complete description of yesterday, last night, and this morning, can be read in my complete archived page for today.
Friday 12th December 2025
 08:50 GMT

If it were 3 or 4 degrees warmer, yesterday might have been a nice day. There were some sunny spells in the morning, but a high of 11° C was just a bit too low to be comfortable. The afternoon and through the evening was dry, but it was cloudy enough to not let through a single ray of sunshine.
 BBC_weather forecast
There are gaps in the cloud this morning, and the sun is trying to shine. We have had a 24 second sunny spell this morning, That may be the last time we see the sun today. The whole day is forecast as cloudy, and there could be some rain - drizzle at 11a and light rain at 1 and 2pm. The afternoon should see 12° C, but it is looking like it could be a cold night. Tomorrow it could be cold enough for a frost, although the current forecast says no lower than 4° C. Full sunshine for all daylight hours are forecast for tomorrow, but the temperature may only peak at 10° C for one single hour at 2pm.

After my poor sleep the night before, I did not start yesterday feeling good, but things improved during the day, and I guess I would rate yesterday as a semi-good day. All my recollections of yesterday, and of dreams in the night, blus notes about this morning, can all be read in my complete archived page for today.
Thursday 11th December 2025
 08:37 GMT

Yesterday was almost a nice day, or could have been, but there was less sunshine than the forecast suggested, and while  13° C is probably good for mid December, it still didn't feel warm. On the plus side it was dry all day.
 BBC_weather forecast
As I write this the sun is to the east, and we have had some sunny spells, but over to the west the sky looks a filthy shade of grey. The wind is supposed to be blowing from the south, and so what happens next can only be seen in the forecast. It says sunny spells until midday, and then mostly light cloud for the rest of the day. Not a single drop of rain is forecast despite some clouds being shown as very dark in the evening. The maximum temperature may be 11° C after an 8° C start to the day. The whole evening could be a constant 10° C. Tomorrow is forecast to be cloudy, and the afternoon may feature some drizzle. There may even be (but probably won't be) a sunny spell at 3pm. The afternoon may see 12° C.

Some of yesterday was good, but overall the day was a mild disaster which has left a hangover today - but not an alcoholic hangover. This hangover is more to do with a bad night with missed and/or poor sleep. I do not feel great this morning. This is all explained the best I can in my complete archived page for today. It also has notes about last night and some of this morning.
Wednesday 10th December 2025
 08:26 GMT

Yesterday was not as bad as the weather forecast predicted. When there should have been rain there was at least one sunny spell. That is not to say there was no rain - there was rain, but it turned out the forecast for drizzle in the second half of the morning was a slight exaggeration. Some times that drizzle was so thin and tenuous that it was completely ignorable. It is hard to say when the rain finally stopped because it was mostly so light that it was impossible to see from indoors. The forecast said no rain after 7pm, but I suspect it was earlier than that. The afternoon saw 14° C, and the ends of the day were only a few degrees less.
 BBC_weather forecast
This morning's forecast sunny spells have started an hour late, but it is definitely sunny as I write this. The rest of this morning should feature sunny spells, but the afternoon should feature 3 hours of full sunshine. It will only stop once the sun has set (at 15:51). The sky will stay clear, and that means the temperature will drop a lot. It will be 8° C by midnight. The afternoon, in the full sunshine, should see 13° C. Tomorrow morning should start at 8° C, but sunny spells, and maybe a full hour of sunshine, should raise the temperature to 11° C, but after a couple of hours it will drop to 10° C, and stay that way into the night.

Yesterday can't be described as wonderful, but it was generally pleasant, and there were a few good things about it. One positive thing was that I didn't seem to feel too bad. It seems I was over the "man 'flu", or whatever it was that ailed me. All I can recall of my day, night, and this morning, is described in my complete archived page for today.
Tuesday 9th December 2025
 08:49 GMT

Yesterday was another wet day, but it was almost mild out. Half the morning, and the afternoon reached 13° C. At 4pm the temperature dropped a single degree to 12° C, but at 10pm it went back up to 13° C.
 BBC_weather forecast
I'm not sure how accurate the forecast is for today. As I write this there has been some rain, but right now the sun is shining, although it doesn't look like it will be shining for long considering how grey most of the sky is.The temperature should reach 14° C this afternoon, but then it will dip for a couple of hours before rising back again. Most of the day is forecast to be wet, but most of it will be light rain, or even drizzle. It may dry up at 8pm, and then it should stay dry. Tomorrow is currently forecast to be mostly sunny. The afternoon temperature should reach 13° C, but it will slowly fall to 8° C by midnight.

According to this morning's health readings, I must have had a good day yesterday. It was actually a day when I didn't feel all that good, and I didn't feel like going out as I had originally hoped to do. I could describe it as a boring day, but maybe it was just a day to do some intensive resting. There was not a lot to describe, but I've described yesterday, last night, and so far this morning, in my complete archived page for today.
Monday 8th December 2025
 09:27 GMT

Yesterday was a wet day. The forecast predicted mostly light rain or drizzle from the start of the day until 7pm. I don't know if there was any rain after that because it was too dark to see, and I had no desire to go outside to check. It was quite a mild day with the afternoon temperature reaching 14° C. It was still 11° C at midnight.
 BBC_weather forecast
This morning I haven't seen any rain, but it is al wet and soggy outside. The morning started at 12° C, and it is now (10am) 13° C. I have not noticed any drizzle, but it may be too difficult to see from indoors. Light rain should have started by now, but I can't see that either. It is moderately bright at the moment, but no actual sunshine. The forecast seems to be hedging it's bets by using that vague item of black cloud, rays of sunshine, ad rain drops. By 3pm it only shows light rain, and that will continue into the night. Apparently it will rain all night, and through all of tomorrow up to 10pm. Tomorrow temperature may be a constant 14° C for much of the day.

Yesterday was a good day overall, but there were moments that was less good. The best part of yesterday was that for much of the day I was not suffering from chest pains. There were other good things yesterday, and no significant bad things. My day, or as much of it that I can remember, is described along with notes about my night, and this morning, in my complete archived page for today.
Sunday 7th December 2025
 09:31 GMT

The middle of yesterday was quite wet from mostly light rain. It wasn't shown in the weather forecast, but the morning featured some nice sunny spells until it clouded over in time for the first drizzle to form. The evening was forecast to be dry, but I am not sure that it was. I think I remember looking out after dark and seeing it looked wet outside. It was a milder day then some recent days with the afternoon reaching 12° C. By midnight it was down to 9° C.
 BBC_weather forecast
It must have rained during the night judging by the puddles when I first peaked through the curtains. As I write this it looks like light rain outside. Rain is forecast for all daylight hours today, although it is only light rain or drizzle. The afternoon should see 14° C, and if it were bright and sunny that would feel good. Nearly all of tomorrow may be 12° C, but a few hours in the afternoon may see 13° C. Once again it will be a day of light rain or drizzle.

Yesterday was a day when the bad overwhelmed the good to the extent that I find that I can't seem to remember any good bits - although I am sure there were some good bits. Maybe the good bit were just that I seemed to manage to be careful enough about my eating that I didn't put on any weight, and my blood glucose was not too bad this morning. All I can remember of my day, night, and this morning, is described in my complete archived page for today.
Saturday 6th December 2025
 08:57 GMT

Yesterday can be simply summed up as morning dry, and the afternoon very wet ! One other important feature was the morning started with a fairly thick frost thanks to the sky being clear overnight. The day started at 3° C, rose to 9° C in the afternoon. It then dipped down to 8° C before rising again to end the day at 11° C....and then started to fall again.
 BBC_weather forecast
This morning has started with some sunny spells - which are not shown in the forecast ! It was also not raining, although it was very wet from rain during the night. It may stay dry until midday when drizzle will start to fall. The next five hours will feature light rain, and by 2pm the temperature will have risen from a 10° C start to 12° C. The rain may stop at 6pm, and the rest of the evning will be dry. By midnight the temperature may have only dropped to 9° C. Tomorrow morning should see the temperature at the same 9° C. It is looking like tomorrow will feature drizzle or light rain every hour until 8pm. The maximum temperature will peak at 4pm and 6pm (but not 5pm) and it could be 14° C.

Yesterday was quite good, because yesterday I didn't feel as bad as I did the day before. In fact for a lot of the time I almost felt normal (whatever that is). There was one time when I did not feel good.....err make that two times, and I shall explain both as I get to them in my narrative for the day. All I can remember of my entire day yesterday, last night and this morning, can all be read in my complete archived page for today.
Friday 5th December 2025
 09:23 GMT

Yesterday morning was cold and dark and wet. The temperature was about 8° C, and it stayed the same until sunset.  I don't there was any heavy rain, but the rain was so persistent that there were puddles everywhere. In the early afternoon there were a couple of hours of sunny spells forecast, but if they happened they were so close to sunset as to be meaningless. Some rays of sunshine were more obvious when the sun had half set, and it looked like a fairly artistic sunset. After sunset the sky cleared, and the temperature started to drop. By midnight it was down to a forecast 4° C.
 BBC_weather forecast
The sky was probably clear for most of the night, and this morning started off with a thick-ish frost, although the air temperature only seemed as low as 3° C. We have had some sunshine, but the sky is looking quite cloudy now, and we have said goodbye to the last sunny spell. From about 3pm it could start to drizzle, and then there will be mostly light rain to the end of the day, and into the night. This afternoon may see 9° C. It will dip a bit, but by midnight all the warm and wet air, giving all the rain, will raise the temperature to as high as 11° C. Most hours tomorrow are shown as having a greater than 20% chance of rain, and quite a few hours are shown with actual rain. On the plus side the temperature may reach 12° C, although with no sun it won't even start to feel warm.....probably.

Yesterday was good and bad again, but the good was a different sort of good, and the bad was also a different sort of bad. I seemed to be suffering from mild "man 'flu", and that was bad, but I looked after myself well, and that made me feel good. This is all described in more detail, and for the whole day, night, and this morning, in my complete archived page for today.
Thursday 4th December 2025
 08:34 GMT

Much of yesterday's daylight hours featured sunny spells, and the whole day seemed to be dry. The afternoon temperature reached 10° C, but after sunset (15:54) it fell fell to 7° C by 8pm, but then rose again as more warm wet air reached us. By 10pm it was 8° C, and just after midnight it started to rain.
 BBC_weather forecast
This morning has started off pretty unpleasant. It is now 9° C, and at least that is better than the forecast predicts for all hours except 9pm. Unfortunately my weather station predicts rain, and that tallies with both the forecast and reality. Maybe we will get some sunny spells at 2pm (but I won't hold my breath). After sunset the temperature drops (of course) and by midnight it may be down to 4° C, and keep falling. Tomorrow morning may start at just 1° C, but some sunny spells may raise the temperature to 9° C by 1pm. The trouble is that it won't be the sunshine but another incursion of warm and wet air. Tomorrow afternoon and evening could be very wet.

Yesterday's main feature was waiting for a parcel delivery. It didn't arrive until approximately 7.40pm, and that was rather annoying, but not as annoying as waiting half the day before the Evri website was able to start giving some estimated times of delivery. There was not a lot to add to that, but there is a fuller description of my day, night, and this morning, that can be read in my complete archived page for today.
Wednesday 3rd December 2025
 08:34 GMT

Yesterday started cold but bright and sunny. By midday it was starting to get cloudy, and quite early in the afternoon there was some light rain, but not a lot of it. The afternoon temperature peaked at around 11° C, but it slowly fell to 7° C by midnight.
 BBC_weather forecast
This morning has started with a sunny spells. The sky is currently about 80% cloud, but that does leave quite a few blue patches where sunshine could get through. The forecast does predict sunny spells/intervals for most daylight hours. This morning it about the 6° C forecast, and this afternoon may see 10° C. By the end of the day it will be back down to 8° C, and the night, like last night, may feature rain. Tomorrow may feature mostly light rain all day long, and the temperature may peak at just 9° C for one single hour !

Yesterday was an odd sort of day. It wasn't good and it wasn't bad. I ended up doing very little except maybe eating a little more than was ideal, but I'll explain the why of that further down the page. My whole day, or what is worth remembering of it, plus my night and this morning, are all described in my complete archived page for today.
Tuesday 2nd December 2025
 08:15 GMT

Yesterday was grey and wet. The forecast said light rain all day long. It never seemed that bad, and there were plenty of short or medium pauses in the rain. The (theoretical) good thing was that the afternoon temperature was 12° C. Even at midnight it had only fallen to 10° C.
 BBC_weather forecast
The current weather features a huge expanse of blue sky, and some dazzling sunshine. This is a bit earlier than the forecast predicted. This afternoon there will be more cloud, and some light rain is forecast. The temperature, which was only 8° C at 7am, should rise to 11° C this afternoon. After 2pm it will start to fall, and we could see some light rain now and then, but most hours look dry. By midnight the temperature may have fallen to 7° C. Tomorrow should be dry, and there could be some sunny spells in the afternoon. The winds should be very light, and that may mean that tomorrow's afternoon high of 10° C may not feel too bad.

Yesterday was not a bad day, although it was only a bit good.....and a little bit bad a few times, the latter being mostly self inflicted. My day, night and this morning is fully described in my complete archived page for today.
Monday 1st December 2025
 08:34 GMT

Yesterday started with loads of sunshine, and it lasted until sunset, but for all that it was a cold day. The morning started at just 4° C. The afternoon only reached 8° C. Then the temperature dipped down to 5° C before rising to 7° C at midnight.
 BBC_weather forecast
The temperature rise last night was because we have been hit by warm and wet air again. There was rain in the night, and it is raining this morning. The day started at 10° C, and should rise to 12° C in the afternoon. Unfortunately it seems it will rain all day long. The fact that only light rain is forecast brings no cheer on a very wet and dull morning. To add to the misey there will be some very strong gust of wind today. Tomorrow may start at 8° C, and it should be dry. There may even be some sunny spells and sunshine until mid afternoon when it will cloud over. By 3pm it may start to rain, and the rest of the day will be mostly wet.

Yesterday was another bad day overall, but there were a few good things too. The worst thing was the old, old story of waiting in, on high alert, for an Amazon delivery. Fortunately, in the last 90 minutes or so they started providing more useful information. My day, night, and this morning is described in my complete archived page for today.
