There was less rain than yesterday's forecast predicted.  There was also more sunshine as well. Around lunchtime it seemed quite sunny, although it may have still been raining. The afternoon reached 12° C, and that didn't feel that bad in the sunshine. The rain started again sometime after dark, and by midnight the temperature had only dropped to 9° C.

This morning has ben quite bright, and that included some sunshine. The road outside looks like it has only seen a light sprinkle of rain earlier on, and as per the forecast it is not raining for now. Light rain could start at 11am, and continue into the night. The afternoon temperature will be a few degrees less than recently at just 10° C. It will probably fall to just 7° C by midnight. Tomorrow is currently forecast to have light rain or drizzle the whole day long, and it is going to be cold. The afternoon is predicted to be just 8° C. Friday night/Saturday morning may be cold enough for sleet, and possibly snow, but the forecast will probably change before that happens.

I have already described most of yesterday in my very late in the day, after my endoscopy, and after some lunch, description of all the important bits. It was not a good day, or wasn't good until I was safely home and had some rather nice food after my almost 24 hours of fasting.

To pick up where I left off yesterday....It was late in the afternoon when I put my dinner in to cook. As I said yesterday, it was principally a whole packet of part cooked, and ready to finish cooking, BBQ flavour spare ribs. I accompanied them with sweet potato chips. The latter were a bit underdone when I came to eat them, but still seemed fairly nice. The spare ribs, like the last two or three times, were delicious.

I had a dessert to finish off my dinner. It was more plain vanilla ice cream and a chunk of Madeira cherry cake. It seemed to fill me up nicely, and after watching some TV I thought I was set up for a good sleep. I was mistaken. When I tried for sleep I felt very uncomfortable, and I don't think I can blame any of it on any after effects of the endoscopy. In fact it is hard to put the blame on anything at all. Some of it was the old story of it being too hot under the duvet, and too cold without it. Then there were the lumps in the mattress and pillow that weren't there the previous night (and probably mostly imagined).

I did get to sleep eventually, and some of it was quite good, but I am getting ahead of myself.... Before I tried for bed, and actually a bit before 6pm, I made a big order with a specialist Asian food wholesaler (who also supply to the public via their web site). My last bulk order of instant noodles, ordered via Amazon, came with a leaflet with their web address, and some discount vouchers for orders over £50 and £100. My order was under £100, but I qualified for the more than £50 discount.

The store has loads of stuff that I have no idea how it is used in Japanese/Chinese/other Asian cookery, but I do know how to use instant noodles, and they had loads to choose from, and makes I had never heard of before. Of course I had so many I wanted to try, and that easily got the order up to over £50. They also had some interesting cakes to try. I bought some pineapple cake, some little chestnut flavoured cakes, and some "Choco Fun" banana flavour cakes.

The instant noodles, and the cakes could be good or they could be bad, but without resorting to using a calculator, and only going by a faulty memory of how much I have paid for instant noodles in Tesco and other supermarkets, I feel fairly sure I am getting everything on my order at wholesale price. It could be just a matter of pennies, but I don't think I am going to regret anything I ordered.

Back to my sleep, or initially, the lack of it. I did get into a deep sleep possibly quicker than it felt like. Of course it didn't last because I had also taken one of my diuretic tablets. I think I mentioned yesterday, or some recent day, that the packet says "one a day in the morning". I prefer to take them at night because it is only a one minute walk to the toilet. If I took them in the morning I wouldn't be able to go out anywhere because of the need to go for a pee every hour or two.

As the night wore on I think my sleep got better and better. I do remember some dreams, or to be more exact, I remember having more dreams, but the content of those dreams now eludes me. One seemed to be about cats having implants so they could wag their tails better, but as I say I can't honestly remember enough details to say that description is completely wrong.

Although I couldn't get to sleep as quickly as hoped for, I had gone to bed, and tried for sleep a little before 9pm, and maybe I was not fully tired by then. it almost feels like I did actually get a fair night's sleep, although I am feeling that I will, as is just about normal now, be having a snooze after I finish writing this.

It was before 7am when I first got up, and as usual I had a pee straight after getting up. I did past some gas, but I didn't poo. Even so, when I weighed myself I found I was 100gm lighter than yesterday morning. That is remarkable because yesterday morning I had been fasting, and last night I had quite a feast for my dinner. I can only speculate that my walk to and from the hospital burned a few calories.

I did use my "Simply Walking" app to measure the distance I walked, which was roughly half a mile there, and half a mile back. It also said I burned a mere 140 calories. The effort I put in to overcome my stiff legs could possibly have doubled that, but even double seems to be an insignificant amount, but the scales don't lie (much) and I am 100gm lighter than yesterday. My blood glucose was not terrible either, or not that much terrible. One reading was 9.1mmol/l, and I definitely don't like any reading above 8.9mmol/l.

The red line may be 10mmol/l, but some bad can come of blood glucose over 9mmol/l. Fortunately the other two glucose meters read 8.5 and 8.9mmol/l, and while lower would be better, both are acceptable. Even my blood pressure, which was initially super high, and then just slightly high when I was at the hospital yesterday, is now nice and low this morning, although 108/42 may be considered a bit too low....but not by much, and one sight of a doctor could possibly double that !

The main thing on today's agenda will be a mid afternoon beer tasting session with Jodie, probably Michael, and maybe others. Before that I hope I will go shopping in Aldi. There is nothing essential I need, although the exercise would be good, and there are a few things it would be nice to have in the fridge or freezer.
