Yesterday morning was another damp day, but I think there was less rain than the forecast predicted. I am sure that some hours were dry. The ends of the day were both 9° C, but the afternoon did reach 12 ° C.

This morning the sun is already shining, and while we might get an odd hour of just sunny spells, it is looking like most of the day will feature full bright sunshine. It should take the afternoon temperature up to 14° C (and possibly higher). The ends of the day are shown to be 8° C, but at the moment I see 9° C on my thermometers. Tomorrow may be cloudy, but still be dry. All temperatures are currently predicted to be about 1° C less than all today's temperatures.

Yesterday not terribly exciting, and some bits were a very negative experience. On the other hand some beer was drunk, and I had a nice snooze or two.

One of yesterday's problems is that it seemed to take so long to write yesterday's piece that it was after midday when I finished. I'm not really sure why it took so long to write, but I know I took a break to make and eat breakfast, and I also spent some minutes in the toilet, a couple of time, trying to make sure I was not heading for yet more constipation.

Once I had finished writing I still wanted my now traditional lie down, read for a bit, and if it feel like it is going to happen, have a snooze - and I think I did have a snooze. Maybe it was after the snooze that I had a shower, and washed my hair. When I had finished with the bath I got my big builders buckets out and started some more  laundry. I became semi busy after that, and never seemed to find the time (or inclination) to finish that laundry. It is still waiting for me this morning.

The one thing I did do was to do my usual tidy up in the kitchen before I had visitors. In this case it would only be Jodie, but she is the one who makes use of my kitchen to cook or heat some sort of vegan lunch for herself before drinking. I cleared the sink of some accumulated washing up, and cleaned and polished the beer glasses. After that I could slip back into lazy mode, but not for too long. Jodie arrived a bit late because she had come here via Lidl.

The afternoon beer session was good and bad - maybe mostly bad. The good was that my latest beer order contained I think it was three beers Jodie had never tried before, and one earned her a badge on her Untappd social media for beer drinkers distraction. I say distraction because that sums up a lot of the beer drinking time. Jodie was distracted by her phone checking who was drinking what on Untappd, and when she finished that it was on to Instagram for more distraction. It was really quite boring sitting there in one sense alone, but actually waiting for Jodie to finish her beer so we could open another bottle. A 330ml bottle, when split into two shares, does not put more than a few gulps of beer in a small glass. I could make it last 5 minutes, but Jodie could make so little beer last 15 to 20 minutes.

This frustration means I often drink something I know Jodie is not keen on, or would have tried many times before, to help pass the time while I am ignored. It is why I welcome Michael joining us on Thursday sessions. He may be a moany old git, and have weird musical tastes compared to my strictly limited choices, but he does liven the place up.

The drinking session ended when Jodie left to get a bus for Bromley where she was meeting Alan in a pub for more very slow boozing, at 7pm. I think she walked to the bus stop at about 6.20pm. Meanwhile, I had been cooking my dinner. It was a three part dinner. Part one was a "Keema" (minced curried lamb with diced potatoes and peas) that was probably intended to be only part of a meal.

Dinner part two was three sausages with black pudding in them. They had been in an open packet in the fridge for 3 or 4 days, and I thought I may as well cook them while I had the oven on. They seemed well cooked, and possibly a tiny bit over cooked, but tasted fine. The third part of my dinner was a slice of angel cake. It may sound a lot, but I thought it was a slightly small dinner - just about !

With dinner eaten I passed the time watching some TV, and I probably got to bed at around 10.30pm. I seemed to feel tired and sleepy, and after reading a few pages from my current book, I tried for sleep. Unfortunately I was kept awake by what, at first, felt like some gas that was causing me to burp a lot. By midnight I realised that something was brewing up in my stomach, and it would end with me heading to the bathroom to vomit - always an unpleasant thing.

I seemed to completely empty my stomach, but the part digested food looked nothing like I had eaten. For instance I expected the Keema to come back up very much like it went down, but it didn't. After rinsing my mouth several times I went back to bed where I still could not get to sleep. I think it was 2am when the discomfort resolved itself to be a "stomach ache" but the ache was not the stomach itself but my lower intestine.

I assumed that I would soon be dashing to the toilet with whatever upset my stomach would be giving me terrible diarrhoea, but it turned out to be one semi large, rather firm, stool and a lot of wind. I had lost a lot of sleep, but I was finally comfortable, and could get to sleep. From then on I seemed to sleep quite well. I don't think I even had to get up for more than one or two pees. Just before I got up I was having a dream, and I thought it was interesting enough to describe, but in the intervening time I seem to have forgotten every single detail of that dream except one small sequence.

The tiny bit of dream I do seem to be able to recall, was set on a railway station platform. I am not sure where it was, but somewhere like Beckenham Junction station would be similar. As I waited for my train another train pulled in. I could see through the windows that some sort of fracas was going on, and it seemed to be something to do with football supporters. The train itself seemed to be a special, and I assume it was a special for football supporters.

I could just about make out that one faction wanted to beat up another, and that other was trying to get off the train, but the first faction somehow manage to push the sliding doors together to stop any one leaving. Meanwhile there was one railway person on the platform, and he was a very weedy looking man. If he had got involved he would probably have been flattened. I think the dream faded out with him frantically pushing the door close button.

Vomiting, plus emptying my bowels, did not make the expected difference to my weight this morning. I have actually lost 200gm, but that is not enough to negate the 500gm I put on the day before, and if it had it would have been a pretty unpleasant way of doing it. My blood glucose readings were slightly improved this morning. I had readings of 7.1, 7.4 and 7.5mmol/l. I regard any reading starting with a 7 as being good, and it was an unusual event to get three of them in one go. That must be a good thing - somehow.

This morning my blood pressure is a bit low at 96/46. I feel fairly good though, and even the mildest exercise will get my blood pressure up - possibly a lot. It was/is my intention to try and get some walking exercise in while it is nice and sunny. I want to go to Aldi today as what would possibly be my only exercise (but lots of short walks are probably better for getting my ankles freed up, and my knees a bit more resilient). The trouble is there is a fly in the ointment.

Some time today I am expecting an Amazon order. Sometimes they don't come until early, and sometimes even late,  evening. If that were the case I would have plenty of time - even enough for a walk in the park. On the other hand, they have been getting earlier recently, and an early delivery, say nearer midday, which has happened at least once this century, would mean I would miss the delivery if I went out assuming the delivery would be a lot later. It is one of my biggest annoyances about Amazon. Only rarely do they give some sort of estimated delivery time. Essentially I just have to sit here all day, on high alert, waiting for the bugger to arrive.

One thing I can get done today, with no worries about missing the delivery, is to finish my washing. If I am happy to have a quick flannel wash, and that should be good enough for a walk in the park or a visit to Aldi, I might even start another lot of laundry. Most small stuff is done, but I know I have some sheets and pillowcases that may have been festering from possibly last autumn, and maybe at the bottom of the bag, even earlier !
