Lockdown day 420 433

08:36 BST

Once again it took a while for the sun to burn off the clouds, but it managed it a bit earlier then the day before. Once the sun did breakthrough it's rays felt wonderfully warm, and the afternoon temperature easily reached the forecast 23° C.
sunny day
Unlike the previous couple of days, the sky was blue and the sun was shining when I got up. It should shine all day, and that will raise the temperature to 24° C - rather more appropriate for "Flaming June". Tomorrow will start the same as today, but by 11am, or thereabouts, the sunshine may give way to sunny spells. From 3pm there could be a few hours of light rain, but the temperature is still predicted to rise to 25° C.

There were three main things I did yesterday. The first I mentioned yesterday. It was doing my weekly, early Monday morning, shop in Aldi. The second was some laundry - done by hand, and dried, and baked in the hot sunshine. The third thing was to eat quite a lot.

I felt relatively safe having a (late) breakfast, some lunch, and then dinner. With three meals inside of me I didn't feel very inclined to do any snacking, although that doesn't mean I did none. I did have a small handful of nuts during the afternoon. My breakfast and lunch were both salads. Breakfast had some (30% off, reduced price) sliced turkey in with the ready made "classic" salad.

I did "spice up" that salad with some sliced jalapeños. I am not sure why I bothered with the turkey because, as expected, it was completely tasteless - just like any turkey is in my humble opinion. The most over rated meat of all time ! My lunchtime salad omitted any meat. I three in a handful of walnuts instead. Dinner was two shish kebabs eaten cold. They were from the takeaway order I had made the night before.

The only other thing of note that I did was to drink a bottle of the Fullers "Honey Dew" organic ale, and two bottles of the very strong (8.5%) Fullers "Golden Pride". The latter seems to get me feeling moderately drunk, and (almost) ready for bed. There was one other bit of news from yesterday: With luck I will be meeting Angela for a lunchtime drink tomorrow. It maybe just be the prospect of going back to work after a long, bank holiday weekend, but she seemed a bit down in the dumps yesterday.

Once again I was in bed, reading, before it was even starting to get dark last night, and I was probably asleep by sunset (just after 9pm). I don't think I can describe my sleep as good or bad, but I can say that it was a bit unusual with regard to dreams. I seemed to have countless very brief dreams, and I don't think there was any continuity between them. About the only one that is describable was about feeding my old cat. I doubt it lasted more than 15 seconds.

Despite making a host of bad predictions over the past month or two, I was pretty confident that what I ate yesterday was safe - even considering how much it was that I ate. This morning my blood glucose was the same as yesterday 8.2mmol/l. Lower would be better, but not a bad start to the month. Maybe now it is finally "salad weather" I can keep it this low, or hopefully lower still, this month. One thing is for sure, I can put too much blame on at least two of the Fullers beers having high amounts of sugar in them.

One thing I was going to do today was to finally get around to washing a heavy duvet cover. It needs to be dried on the line because it is a real bastard to try and wring out. I don't think I am going to do that today because today I want to force myself out for a walk.  If I can manage just 3 miles I will be happy, but hopefully the sunshine and warmth my spur me on to go further.
