Let's just say that I didn't need to get the hose out to water the garden yesterday. I seem t recall there were a few nice sunny spells in the morning, but on the whole it was a rather grey day. I feel sure that rain fell earlier than the last predicted time of 6pm, and some of that rain was medium heavy. The temperature peaked at about 21° C, but it seemed to cool down faster than forecast in the evening. I think it was only a few tenths of degrees higher than 13° C at midnight.
another very wet day
There has already been some quite heavy rain, but it seems to have stopped as I write this. More rain, including some possibly thundery showers are expected this morning, but the afternoon may only feature a couple of light showers. It is going to be a cool day with the temperature only expected to reach a very un-summer-like 18° C. Tomorrow may be brighter, but a lot of rain is still forecast. It could be a whole degree higher tomorrow - 19° C.

Yesterday was a deliberately not very productive day, and yet it was more productive than intended. For instance, I spent 10 minutes, maybe even 15 weeding a few select areas of garden. It started with trying to remove a new growth of ivy before it got out of control, but while I had my gardening gloves on I pulled up several handfuls of weeds. I guess all my weeding should be described as destructive instead of productive.

In some ways I was actually quite productive doing a job that needed little effort, and only a few minutes attention every now and then. I was continuing my quest to re-rip my whole CD collection to more convenient mp3 files. One interesting fact emerged as a result of this. It seems that I have 201 compilation/various artists CDs. Some were from double CDs, and I think there was at least one triple CD set. It is quite possible that I will find more when I tackle this next big dusty pile. Compilation CDs were very handy back in the days when I was doing radio programmes, and a very handy way to replace most, but not all 7 inch vinyl singles in my old collection (before I gave them all away).

My only other achievement was being careful about what I ate yesterday. I almost made it through the whole day just on 4 cans of soup, but I added another course to my dinner. It was grilled bacon roll (a slightly smoky version of spam) on a big bed of salad leaves. I also had a chunks cheese or two, and a single handful of peanuts during the day.

There is not much to say about my sleep last night. Apart from one thing, it was remarkably like all my recent sleeps. The one different thing was that I was feeling rather cool by 3am (or maybe it was 2am). Although my bedroom temperature had dropped only a few degrees during the night, it would probably have dropped lower with the temperature outside being below 13° C in the small hours. I turned the heater on a good few hours earlier than I have done since summer turned to autumn (in August !!).

Last night, before I had dinner, I checked my blood glucose. It had fallen to 7.8mmol/l. That was pleasing, and this morning it was still 7.8mmol/l, and that was very pleasing. It should mean I have a bit more energy for what could be a gruelling day. Once I have finished writing that I need to shave, shampoo, and shower in preparation to getting a train just after midday, and after one change of trains at London Bridge (or maybe Lewisham) I will arrive at Petts Wood for Petts Wood Calling.
it is
going to be a very wet start
This is probably what I can expect to find when I get to Petts Wood. After a morning of heavy rain the grass is going to be churned into mud, but if this forecast has any credibility there will only be some light rain once I get there. I still only intent to stay there until just after 5pm. That is when the bands I don't really care for come on. In theory I'll be home again by dinner time !
