The weather was far better than the forecast for yesterday. It was generally a sunny day, and in direct sunshine it felt very hot (maybe only when wearing a black t-shirt), but I don't think the air temperature went much above the 21° C predicted in the forecast.
starting sunny, and maybe another
                                sunny day
There are two important things this morning. One is that there is either a lot of dew or there was some rain in the night, and the other is that it is another gloriously sunny morning. It would be all to easy to think the forecast is wrong, and that today will be like yesterday, but if the forecast is right we will lose the sunshine (or maybe just sunny spells) soon after midday, and they won't resume until 4pm according to the latest revision of the forecast. Once again the predcited afternoon temperature will be 21° C. Tomorrow may feature some sunny spells but may mostly be dull. However it could be slightly warmer at 23° C. Curiously enough the BBC version of the forecast for today and tomorrow swaps the two days around, but at least as far as this morning is concerned it has got it very obviously wrong.

Yesterday was another day where not a lot happened, or at least not a lot happened after what I had already described yesterday morning. That included going shopping in Tesco, and then starting some laundry. At the time of writing I had only got halfway through the laundry (done by hand) yesterday morning. Later on I achieved my aim of getting it all on the washing line before midday, but I only managed it with about 60 seconds to spare ! It was one of the largest amounts I have done for some while (not including bedding) - 3 t-shirts, and I think 5 pairs of underpants, plus one face flannel.

The highlight of the day was the beer drinking session from mid afternoon until about 6pm. Both Jodie and Michael came round, and we had some nice beers, and lots of nice banter. Michael was in good form, and had plenty to say while Jodie was distracted by her phone. The last beer was only a taster. It was a small can (160ml ?) of a plum flavoured Belgium Quadruple beer. It was 10% and very delicious. I've been looking forward to tasting it for 3 or 4 weeks now. There is still the second little can to go, and I might indulge in that by myself.
giant
                                      sunflower bud
Here's the latest progress of my most advanced giant sunflower bud. It is looking very big now. I guess if it wants to become a dinner plate sized flower it still has some way to go, but to my untrained eye it looks like it is must be getting close to opening. Maybe it just needs a few more sunny afternoons. There are another three plants, but they are nowhere near as developed as this one is, and maybe will never develop as we get deeper into Autumn.

I had a rather reckless dinner last night. I think the morning's low blood glucose reading might have caused me to drop my guard....or it might have been the booze ! I had smoked mackerel for breakfast, and a couple of cheese rolls "to help soak up the beer" for a slightly late lunch. My dinner was rather a lot of ready to eat (but heated in the microwave for 2 minutes) barbecue chicken bits. Judged by the bones left over it  was quite a feast, but I don't recall the amount of meat I ate as being particularly large.

That barbecue coating contained sugar, and so wasn't such a good idea. Of course the worst thing was that while it tasted much nicer than the chicken I got from Iceland, it still wasn't that enjoyable. Even after eating it all I wanted some sort of "pudding". I ate the last of the "sugar free" choc chip cookies I had opened a few days ago. They were enjoyable, or would be if they didn't generate a certain amount of guilt.

It seemed odd last night that while I didn't feel any more than very mildly drunk, I did feel very tired. It was that special post booze tiredness. I ended up in bed, and asleep very soon after 8pm ! I slept solidly for just two hours, and then woke up feeling dreadful ! It took some time until I could get to sleep again. Even then I woke up not that much more than an hour later with all sorts of aches and pains - the worst of which was my right hand. I must have slept on the nerve because it was all pins and needles for a short while.

After that I think I slept more peacefully, and for something like 3 or 4 hours. I then woke probably twice in the last 2 hours, maybe just 90 minutes of sleep. I think I got up at just after 7am.  It was no great surprise to see my blood glucose up at 8.9mmol/l this morning. The worst thing about that is that it breaks a small run of good readings. I shall have to see what I can do today to reduce that to at least 8.5mmol/l, my typical monthly average, and ideally even less.

The trouble is that I have no clear idea of what I am doing today. It now seems possible that I could go out somewhere. I had doubts about that when I first got up because I had been a bit constipated yesterday. At least that is how it seemed. In reality it might just have been that I hadn't eaten much in the previous 24 hours. This morning I have made two large deposits in the toilet, and that may be all that is needed to leave me clear to wander far and wide with no toilet in view...so to speak !
silly
                                      crap from Virgin Media
I'm sure I posted this yesterday, but apparently I didn't. The top half is a part screenshot of an email from Virgin Media I got the day before yesterday. It is pure bull crap. There is no connection at all between a Wifi transmitter, that the Vermin Media hub has, and a 5G cellular radio transmitter that the Vermin Media has not got. Regardless of this strange bit of techno-babble, the Wifi is turned off in my hub. To me it is just a modem that converts the cable signals to ethernet signals that I connect to most of my devices, through a firewall, by Ethernet cables. The lower half of the screenshot confirms it, but I will be checking for the next few mornings that the bastards haven't turned the WiFi back on behind my back !
