Yesterday was as good as the weather forecast promised (which feels like a first !). It was sunny nearly all day, although the day did start of very dull, and sometimes the sunshine was only sunny spells. For all that, I don't think the temperature climbed any higher than the forecast 17° C.
   rather less
                              sunshine than yesterday
The latest revision to the forecast has taken away almost all the sunshine. All that is left are sunny spells for 9am and 11am. The rest of the day will be cloudy. However it is going to be warm without that sunshine. The temperature could hit 21° C today. Tomorrow may only feature a few sunny spells at the very start of the afternoon. The rest of the day will be cloudy, and 11am is currently predicted to feature heavy clouds, but I expect that all this will change a lot in the next 24 hours. The temperature prediction for 17 or 18° C will probably survive through to tomorrow.

Yesterday was a surprisingly good day. I felt quite groggy in the morning after a bad night's sleep, but by late morning I seemed to have thrown off that feeling, and I seemed to feel sort of normal - whatever that is ? By about 3pm I had done some useful stuff. I had washed and dressed, gone shopping in Tesco, and washed a small bath towel, and a face flannel. Both were hanging on the line, in the sunshine, but a little later than ideal. Once I had hung the washing on the line I thought I may as well water the garden while I was out there.

Ten minutes after getting back inside there was a ring at the doorbell. It was Jodie, and I didn't think I was expecting her yesterday. It turns out it is this coming Thursday when she is busy. I quickly changed into my drinking trousers, and put a t-shirt on ready to drink lots of beers. In fact we didn't have that many beers. Jodie had more important things to do on her phone - which made her less than scintillating company - and was drinking very slowly. I had a few of my own beers to pass the time (where "my own beers" = beers Jodie had already tasted, and so had no interest in them !).

We did have a few nice, strong beers in the style of porters or stouts. We also had one beers that was a farmhouse Saison beer, and I was not impressed with it, although Jodie thought it was very nice. There was one beer I refused to touch, and Jodie expected that. It was flavoured with tea (it is at this point that it would be good if my writing supported emojis so I could put down a string of the one depicting a green face throwing up !).

Jodie was due to meet Alan for more boozing in Croydon at 7pm, and so left to get a train at around 6.30pm. I was quite ready to tuck into my dinner. I had been treated to the smell of some BBQ chicken legs cooking in the mini oven for the last hour of drinking, but I wouldn't be eating them yesterday. They were from a defrosted bag that I found in Tesco at about half price. I shall be eating them today.

Yesterday I mostly ate the extra bits I had added to my kebab order the previous evening. I had a small chicken shish kebab cold for breakfast. it was a strange breakfast, but rather nice. My lunch was grilled chicken wings. They were easy to re-heat, and to my great satisfaction they were grilled rather than deep fried with some sort of sugary concoction painted on the outside. Last night's dinner was three pieces of fried chicken. After a small delay I had a "dessert" of Haslet on rice cakes.

I was surprised that I didn't seem to feel sleepy last night. I felt no urge to go to bed early, and I stayed up to watch most of "The Stones In The Park" - the film of The Rolling Stones playing at a free festival in Hyde Park in 1969. To be honest it was not all that good, and I was distracted by other stuff on my PC for some of the time. It finished at 9pm, and I went straight to bed, and read for half an hour. I then tried to go to sleep, and failed !

I have no idea how long it was before I fell asleep, and there didn't seem to be a good reason why I couldn't fall asleep. I guess it was the old conflict that seems rather common as the seasons are changing, of it feeling too warm under the duvet, and too cool without it. At 2am (I think) I turned the heating on low, and that improved matters a little bit. I think it was just coming up to midnight when I realised I had been asleep because I woke up from a seemingly long dream.

That dream was inspired by the Rolling Stones film I had seen earlier. I don't know what my function was, or why I was backstage in the dream. It was all very strange. It seems there were a couple of thieves there who were trying to steal a (Transit ?) van, and whatever was in it. I helped some one to stop them by pointing what looked like rifles at them. They weren't actually rifles, but a tube attached to a high pressure cylinder of nitrogen used to almost instantly inflate stage props. They could almost be used as rifles though because I knew (somehow) that is you put a dried pea down the barrel it would shot out fast enough to dent a car or van.

Having stopped the thieves, and presumably left it to others to take care of them, I got curious about what was in the back of the van, and a few other vans. They seemed to be full of ripe tomatoes. I could only conclude that they were for throwing at a rival band, or the audience....or something just as messy. I must admit I have no idea where the inspiration for that bit of dream came from !

Even after that I still had trouble getting back to sleep every time I woke up. Once again it would be case that I would thrash around, seemingly for ever, and then find myself waking up a few hours later. I was obviously getting more sleep than I thought I was, and I woke up at a silly time as if it was tome to get up. I didn't think it would happen, but I did get back to sleep, and woke up again a little later than I would usually get up.

This morning, despite not really doing much to bring it about, and not even worrying about the beers I was drinking, my blood glucose is down to a more acceptable level. It was 8.7mmol/l, and while a little high, it is not that much higher than my typical average. As a result I treated myself to some cheese on rice cakes, with some lettuce, for breakfast. In theory that should have been a very light breakfast.

I know a little of what I am doing today. Before starting to write this I put some laundry into soak. The idea is that I will have to finish it, and get it hanging on the line to dry before I can have a shower, and I think I will be washing my hair too. What I do after that is a bit of a mystery. Earlier on, when I falsely believed it would be a nice sunny day, I thought I might go out to explore more of the limits of my Freedom Pass. I may still end up doing that, but if this afternoon is going to be dull I feel less inclined to go out. On the other hand, it should still be very warm, and so.....we'll see what happens as it happens.
