Later revisions to yesterday's weather forecast removed a lot of the sunny spells from the afternoon. That was 100% wrong ! Yesterday afternoon was brighter, sunnier, and warmer than the most optimistic version of the forecast. The temperature just about hit 25° C for an hour or two.
   possibly very wet
At first light this morning it seemed fairly bright, although there was no actual sunshine. Now the sky is looking very grey and threatening to the east, and the idea of five hours of very heavy rain is looking very realistic. I note that the chance of rain at 8am has been reduced to just 80% in the latest revision, but that is close to certain, and the others being 90 to more than 95% is looking very definite. Of course sometimes the rain doesn't turn out to be very heavy at all. It might brighten up a bit at 1pm, but the rest of the day looks like it will be very dull, and there could be more rain from 6pm. By comparison with recent days, 17° C is going to feel a bit cool. Tomorrow should be dry, but at the moment sunny spells are just forecast for one single hour, but the temperature should be back up to maybe 21° C.

After my very low blood glucose reading yesterday morning I allowed myself two bowls of instant noodles. The funny thing is that I didn't really enjoy them. I think there was a bit of guilt involved that spoiled the taste....or something like that. I ended up spending a fair bit of yesterday adding some of the train pictures I had taken on my day out on Wednesday to my big spreadsheet cataloguing pictures of each individual train.

One of the surprising things I noticed when working on the spreadsheet is that I seem to have taken pictures of a very high percentage of Southern Trains class 377 fleet. I would have thought that the most complete list would have been South Eastern's class 465 fleet. That would be because there are loads of them passing through Catford Bridge station - my most local station. To see a Southern class 377 train I have to make a deliberate decision to travel to their part of the network.

One thing that didn't happen yesterday was any contact from Patricia. There was no definite plan to have a pub lunch with Patricia yesterday, but that seemed like it was going to be the most likely day. I hope she doesn't want to do it today because I am busy seeing Angela this lunch time - or so I hope.

I finished all but a couple of entries in my train pictures spreadsheet before Jodie arrived for our generally regular Thursday afternoon beer tasting session. I had also spent a bit of searching for a few pictures I had listed, but hadn't linked to them. One was in a folder from 2018 that had a few more pictures I had overlooked. As of early last night it might be true that my spreadsheet is fully up to date, but I feel sure I have a few more old pictures of slam door trains that I haven't found yet.

The late afternoon beer tasting session was fairly typical. We had a few good beers, a couple that weren't so good, and Jodie ignored me a lot while she gave all her attention to her phone. It is a shame that Michael is still out of commission as he spends most of his time looking after his wife. She appears to be suffering from senile dementia from what Michael says. It doesn't help that she is profoundly deaf. It was always a lot more interesting when Michael joined us for beers.

Jodie left to get the 6.05 train to Elmers End where she would get the Tram to a pub in Croydon. She was meeting her "sweetheart" (!!) there for more beers. Once Jodie had left I started cooking some beef burgers for the core of my dinner. The only other ingredients were a heap of mixed salad leaves and probably an over generous squirt of mayonnaise. Apart from my double bowl of instant noodles, I had generally eaten carefully for the rest of the day. All I can really remember eating between breakfast and dinner was rice cakes and cheese, plus some slated peanuts. The latter usually being very benign for my blood glucose, but not benign for my calorie intake (and neither was the cheese if I am honest).

The curious thing last night was that apart from feeling mildly drunk (doing the last few entries of my spreadsheet needed migraine inducing concentration to try not to make any errors, but I bet I did !), I didn't seem to feel all that tired. It seemed to be no problem staying alert to watch the later showing of QI on Dave since the schedules changed. At 10pm I was in bed reading, and at some point I started to yawn. I'm not sure what time I went to sleep, but it was possibly before 11pm.

It didn't feel like I had been asleep for over 3 hours when I next woke up some time after 2am. I don't think I realised I had been asleep when I woke up. After all the beer earlier in the afternoon it was no wonder that I needed a pee. It is a wonder that I hardly needed to pee for the rest of the night, although I still woke up every couple of hours. I remember having lots of dreams about topping up the bird table, and doing it is strange, hard to remember, ways.

The only bit of dream that has stuck in my mind is so bland that I wonder why I remember it. I was on a bus travelling towards Catford. We were just passing Catford bus garage when it was announced that there would be a short delay while the driver changed for another. That is something I have experienced in real life a fair few times. A bit of added "spice" in the dream is that the bus turned off the main road into a side road that doesn't exist in reality. Just down that side road was a (non existent in the real world) side entrance to the bus garage, and that is where we waited for the new driver. Then I woke up.

I think I could blame one or more of the beers we drunk yesterday, and the Var Var "Golden Ale" was rather sweet and delicious, on the fact that my blood glucose has risen this morning. Of course it could also be that yesterday's 6,4mmol/l was a very rare low reading that would be hard to match. Maybe it is a good thing that this morning it is only 7.8mmol/l. That is below my typical average - which is good - but a little bit higher than the figure I aspire to match (7.5mmol/l).

As far as I aware there is only one very high probability thing happening today, and that is to meet Angela for a lunchtime drink. Being a Friday there is a slight possibility of a longer than usual drink. That potentially could ruin (if I get drunk) the chances of doing anything in the evening. I have a desire to go to The Birds Nest pub in Deptford where three different bands are playing tonight. It became a possibility when it seemed it might be a warm dry night. That hope seems to have faded heavily since it seemed a good idea. The chances are I will be staying in the warm and dry tonight.
