There was some nice happy and cheerful sunshine yesterday morning, but it all fizzled out around 1pm. The rest of the day was dull, but fortunately, not too gloomy for most of the time. It was a very cold morning, -4° C, and the afternoon high was a chilly +4° C.
     dull, but
                                  should be dry
The first version of the weather forecast I saw for today shows the day as being very dull, but the latest revision now shows almost half the hours of the day to feature only white cloud. Sadly no sunshine at all is expected.  This morning started at +4° C, but it will only rise by one single degree, to 5° C by midday. While it could be worse, for instance if it were to rain, it is still a recipe for an unpleasant day. Tomorrow could start at just 1° C, and slowly rise to 6° C, but maybe only by 5pm. By 7pm it could be raining. The whole day will only see a mix of white and dark clouds, and not a single ray of sunshine will be seen - unless the forecast for tomorrow changes a lot tomorrow - which is quite likely.

Yesterday turned out to be a day that I could not have predicted. It was not exactly a productive day, although there was some productivity, and maybe it could be said that the afternoon, and quite a lot of the evening was a different sort of being productive - one with no actual end result except a few memories, but more about that later.

I only half cut down the amount of writing I did yesterday morning, and because of a late start that was particularly good because it was not too late in the morning before I finished. After I finished writing one of the first things I did was to go to the toilet, and it was a very productive visit, and another quite soon after meant my semi constipation was definitely over. If it were not for two facts I might have considered going out now I knew that I would probably be comfortable.

One reason for not going out was the gloomy forecast that we would lose the bright, cheerful sunshine, quite early in the afternoon. As I mentioned at the top of the page, the sunny spells fizzled out around 1pm. I did not fancy spending most of any outdoor activity under a miserable grey sky. The other reason, although I suppose it was triggered by the idea of staying in, was that I had a few things to wash.

One of those few things was a pair of what I think are usually described as sweat pants - lounge pants (trousers) made from thick material - ideal for slouching around when it is cold indoors. Being thick, and very absorbent material they take a lot of effort to wash by hand, and I did them, together with two lesser items, in two stages. I might have done it all in one stage, but the cheap and nasty Pound shop rubber gloves started leaking just as I was about to wring the stuff out after the last rinse, and plunge it into the fabric conditioner.

After rinsing off my hands I had to wait until my hands were fully dry before putting on a fresh pair of rubber gloves. It was at lunchtime, and I took a break to cook three pieces of cheese on toast. I used slices of Polish sourdough bread. Even the biggest slices, from the middle of the loaf, are only about 2/3rd the size of typical sliced bread, and the slices I used were nearer the end, and slightly smaller still.

I waited maybe half an hour, to let the cheese on toast go down/settle down before finishing the washing, and hanging it up to dry. After that I checked a few things on the internet prior to intending to lay on my bed resting, reading, and probably snoozing, but that didn't happen because I saw something an old friend had died at the end of last November. I must admit I was not all that bothered about it because I ended up not liking the guy, and hadn't seen him 20 years or more, but I knew someone who would be interested in the news.

I phone that person, but didn't expect him to answer. Evidently he has stored my number now so he knew it was a valid call, and did answer. Six and a half hours later, with many of the triumphs and tragedies of the modern world discussed, we finally hung up. There was just one other thing going on during that very long phone call, and it was me checking to get some sort of idea when I might get a small package from Amazon delivered.

Amazon are getting really bloody annoying. Their initial estimate was "by 10pm", and later they refined it to between about 7.30pm and 10pm. It actually arrived at about 9.30pm. That is stupidly late, and I don't know Amazon can expect everyone to still be up by 10pm. In my days at work I liked to be asleep by 9pm so I could be bright and fresh when getting up at 5am. There are plenty of people who start work very early, or have stupidly long commutes they have start very early. I need to check to see if Amazon have included a "how was our delivery ?" so I can give it a one star review !

One consequence of my very long phone call is that I missed my dinner. I had half cooked it, but at the end of the night that is how it stayed. It was about 10pm when I had a sort of supped of one cheese and ham sandwich just so I didn't go to bed hungry.

That sandwich had no chilli or spices in it. Another fact is that I did end up drinking 4 (or was it 6 ?) small bottles of beer while I was chatting on the phone. I don't think I can blame either the sandwich or the beer for what happened in the night. I was in bed before 11pm, and read until about 11pm. My bedroom wasn't that warm, and I tucked myself in tightly before falling asleep fairly quickly.

It was some time before 1am, and possibly not long after midnight that I woke up to go for a pee. When I got back to my bed I found the pillow was damp as if I had been sweating. I rotated the pillow around, and after a while I fell asleep again. Another 2 hours passed before I woke up again. This time my pillow seemed very wet, and the bed was cold and wet at chest level - and my chest was feeling quite damp. Something has caused my to sweat heavily in the night, and I don't really know why.

I turned the heater up full, and managed to avoid the worst of the damp patches while slowly getting back to sleep. I slept partly uncovered, and the next time I woke up everything was drying out, and I felt cold. I got back to sleep partly covered, and the next time I woke up I didn't feel too cold. By then the heater had slightly warmed the room, and I slept almost uncovered until I finally got up.

I can only imagine all that sweating was some sort of medical trouble. That would tie in with feeling a bit off colour yesterday - but only when there were no distractions. One particular thing was there were a couple of times when I was in the cold wearing just a t-shirt. One of those times was chatting to someone from my front door step. That cold air really made my chest hurt. It was obviously just all the operation scar tissue and stuff, and nothing to do with my heart, and yet the last probably heart attack I had in 2019, on the occasion I walked to A&E to tell them about my chest pains, I was sweating a lot. So who knows ? Was it just inflamed scar tissue, or was it something more serious.

The good news this morning is that after eating very little yesterday, my blood glucose reading was a spot on, ideal, 7.5mmol/l. I expected it to be low-ish, but I thought a very late night sandwich would spoil things, but apparently not. I've also checked my blood pressure this morning, and it is good 112/64 with a pulse rate of 58 bpm. My temperature is always a moving target, but it does appear to be very slightly lower than typical for the two times I have checked it. It would seem I am currently in the best of health. It is a shame I feel crap at the moment, but not in terms of going to the toilet !

Today is another day when I have little idea what I will do, if indeed I do anything today. My washing up liquid is getting very low, and I could usefully take a short walk to the shops to buy more Fairy Liquid, or some other suitable washing up liquid, but I doubt I would enjoy walking under what is currently a rather depressing grey sky. Oh well, at least the temperature is slightly positive.
