Three hours, and
three revisions to the forecast above has
changed things only slightly. One change is
the acknowledgement that they clouds this
morning haven't been dark grey, but the latest
revision say they will turn into dark clouds
from midday. It is a sort of feel good thing,
but ultimately pointless that 5pm may see some
sunny spells. Once again it is going to be a
cold day with a maximum of 8° C. Today's wind
is probably lighter than yesterday, and so it
might not feel that frigid outside today. Like
today, tomorrow could start close to a frost
with a temperature of just 2° C. It will then
warm up, but to less than today. Just 7° C is
predicted. Tomorrow morning might see a few
hours of sunny spells, but the morning may end
with light rain.
Yesterday was a mostly OK day. To
keep things very brief, because I have started
writing so late, I had a pleasant shopping
trip to Tesco in the morning, and a pleasant
beer tasting session with Jodie in the
afternoon. There is not a lot more to add to
that.
One thing I will add was that when I
got on the scales yesterday morning I had a
shock. It seemed I had put on about 2kg. That
was more a surprise because it seemed to
contradict my carefull eating that had kept my
blood glucose level below my typical average
for over a week. Of course a shopping trip to
Tesco proved too much of a temptation, and who
knows what damage scoffing an entire cheese
and bacon might have done.
Another terrible mistake was to have a
"dessert" after my very safe dinner of beef
and red cabbage. That dessert was a tub of
humus eaten by scooping it out with rice
cakes. I didn't dare check the nutritional
information on the tub, but it was very rich
and creamy, plus it was topped with crushed
nuts and garlic. It was very nice, but eating
it late at night was not a great idea.
After quite a good night's sleep, which
was only spoiled by getting cramp in my lower
right leg twice, I checked my blood glucose,
and possibly that late night humus was to
blame for it soaring to 9.0mmol/l after a nice
run of lower readings. It looks like my task
now is to add watching calories to watching
sugar content when I eat. This could make
eating far less enjoyable - not a clever idea
during miserable weather, plus the misery of
being ignored by Angela.
Today I was going to go for a
lunchtime, or afternoon drink, possibly with
Michael. It is so late now, and I still need
to have a shower and stuff, that I am not sure
if I can raise the enthusiasm to go out to a
pub. I'll just have to make things up as
I go along.
