Yesterday's early morning weather forecast was no real guide to the day's weather. There were some sunny spells in the morning, but there were light sprinkles of rain between some. This afternoon there was a short spell of moderately heavier rain, but then there were more sunny spells. It didn't feel too bad in the sun, but sometimes the wind felt rather cool, particularly when it was carrying some rain.Top temperature was around 12° C.

The latest revision to today's weather forecast has removed the threat of rain at 7pm (as per the screenshot above), but the single dark grey hour, and hour of sunny spells remain. After a rather cool start (my thermometers said 5° C ) the temperature may peak at 12° C for a single hour.  The BBC version of the forecast adds some sunny spells this morning, and several hours of light rain from 4pm. They also say the maximum temperature will be only 11° C. Tomorrow could also start rather cold, but the current prediction is for a lot of sunny spells up to 2pm, and then white clouds for the rest of the day. It may be a tiny bit warmer at 13° C.

The 3,030 words I wrote yesterday, after getting home from my MRI scan, took me up to about 6pm, if I remember correctly. That got the bulk of the previous day, and yesterday out the way. I can now pick up where I left off, but I think this will be one of my shortest entries for ages.

At 6pm I declared it to be dinner time. I had already eaten what seemed a lot, and I knew some it had quite a high sugar content. For my dinner I ate one packet of triple layer club sandwiches, and they were rather nice, but once again, probably due to them being made with white bread, they did report a quite high sugar content. At this point I can't seem to remember if I had an Italian style salad as well. I might have had it earlier.

I ate while reading some technology news on the internet, but I sort of yearned for something that I could just zone out to (almost). I missed the beginning, but I found an episode of Secrets Of The London Underground on. It was an episode I was fairly familiar with, but I watched it anyway. That took me up to 8pm. The previous day I had gone to bed at 8pm, albeit to read for half an hour.

I did seemed to feel tired, or maybe "weary" is a better description, but I didn't feel like rushing to bed straight away. I decided it was high time I had a go at the crosswords in The Metro I had picked up from Catford Bridge station when I set out for Waterloo yesterday. I had read most of the news in it, for what it was worth (and I doubt I retain almost anything I read) while I was standing up on the train to Waterloo East - just like a seasoned commuter, which I was once.

I think I managed to do all but 3 clues in the quick crossword in about ten minutes. Another 10 minutes and I got all but the last clue. By then I was loosing concentration, and I think I got just a single clue in the cryptic crossword before giving up, and going to bed. It felt like I had to force myself to stay awake, but over the next half hour I read the final chapters (one being very short) of the book I had been reading.

I then turned out the light, turned over, and nothing happened. I expected to go out like a light, but it was, or seemed to be a couple of hours before I fell asleep. Once asleep I did seem to get the good sleep I thought I deserved. A lot of it was dreamless sleep, but I did have one very novel dream. I seemed to be visiting, probably electronically, or maybe I was dreaming about memories of dreams I never actually had, many recording/rehearsal studios.

With hindsight I guess to was like looking at a sort of 3D brochure. I am not sure why I was looking at studios. Maybe it was just curiosity. One other curiosity is that I think I continued doing as day dreams when I think I was awake. Also on the subject of curiosities, I had to get up to pee maybe twice before I first got to sleep, but maybe only once during my sleep, but I think last night was one of those nights where I had difficulty deciding what was real life, and what was dreaming.

The point of mentioning getting up for a pee is that it is supposed to be relevant to the state of blood glucose. When it is high there is a tendency to both drink more, and pee more as the body tries to rid itself of excess sugar in the blood stream. I assumed that after I had had a bit of a feast after getting back home from my MRI scan, and one packet of sandwiches seemed to have an insane amount of sugar in them (probably the caramelised onions), that my blood glucoe would be extra high this morning.

I was wrong ! By most metrics my blood glucose readings could be called very normal (for me). The Contour meter actually read a very good 7.8mmol/l. The GlucoRX meter read a bit higher at 8.3mmol/l - fairly good, but not wonderful, and the Sinocare meter agreed with a reading of 8.2mmol/l.  I hadn't had a poo, when I checked my weight, and as I write this I still haven't. To my delight I had only put on a little weight since the reading I got soon after getting home yesterday. At that time I was probably a bit dehydrated, and so weighed a lot less, but this morning I was still 2 or 3kg below the last weight recorded on my official medical records.

The grand scheme today is to go to The Jolly Farmers at lunchtime, and bore Ayse with all my observations about having an MRI scan - plus of course to have a couple of pints of Guinness, and do as much of the two crosswords as I can. I think I'll be there on my own, but you never know.

The other thing I want to try and do today, tomorrow, and maybe the days after, is to try and stick to something similar to the diet I was on the day before my MRI scan. It did seem to be fairly fulfilling, but it kept my blood glucose unusually low, and shaved a bit of extra weight off. Time will tell.
