The forecasters got it right when they said there would be rain yesterday, but they got the times and intensity completely wrong. All I can remember is a few hours of very light rain around midday, and the rest of the day was dry. I'm sure I can remember a few short sunny spells in the afternoon. The originals forecasts about the temperature underestimated it. Just 15° C was predicted, but I am sure my three outdoor thermometers showed 18° C at one time.
sunny morning
The BBC say sunny spells all day, but The Met Office reckon this morning's sunny spells will take a break about now, but  it is still sunny as I write this. The do say sunny spells for midday and 1pm, but the rest of the day will be dull by their reckoning. They are still confident that today will warm up to 20° C, or even 21° C. Tomorrow could be dull all day (Met Office) or light rain through the whole day (BBC). The temperature will be a degree or two less than today (which should still feel warm).

Yesterday was a good day. I even managed to get a lot drunker than I realised ! I intend to try and write very little today because I have got off to such a late start. One some good days I could be finishing writing at the same time (10:28am) I am writing this.

One of the good things I discovered yesterday, and also about the only thing I did yesterday morning, was the reason why I was getting very silly readings on my new, wrist mounted, blood pressure monitor. Somehow it had managed to switch itself to giving readings in kpa instead of mmHg. I can't say I found the way to switch back to what I wanted (mmHg) by following any logical path. I just poked around at the settings until I found the right "switch". This morning it gave a very, very slightly better reading than my usual meter (which seems to be behaving itself since getting the new meter).

At Lunchtime I had a portion of Bombay Aloo (curried potatoes). I was sure it must be full of sugar, but it turns out it wasn't. It made for a nice little snack, but it wasn't long before I topped it up with some rice crackers and cream cheese. My dinner was grilled/roasted diced chicken with baby tomatoes and a couple of not very hot chillies. I added the Aloo Gobi side dish from my previous night's takeaway, and it seemed to be a very tasty dinner.

Back to Midday, and as well as lunch I did a quick tidy of the kitchen and dining room in preparation for an afternoon's beer tasting. It was an unusually good session. We had some rather tasty, rather strong beers, plus some lesser examples of the art. I think it was at about 4.30 that we were joined by Alan, and an hour later by Mark. With two extra people the conversation was much more enjoyable than just Jodie's limited offerings.

It got to about 9pm and I made the stupid mistake of phoning Sue. All I wanted to tell her was that an order I was tracking for her was reported to be at the final depot, and should be out for delivery some time today by Hermes. At 2am this morning I finally managed to call a halt to the call, and I was soon able to get to bed, turn over, and fall asleep almost instantly. I was awake again about an hour later feeling cold. I turned the heater on low, and was soon back to sleep. I seemed to sleep very soundly, but I could not manage to force myself to sleep as late as I hoped - although I stayed in bed for maybe a full hour not sleeping until I gave up trying, and got up.

All my excesses the day before yesterday came to fruition this morning when I weighed myself after two decent sized poos, and before I had breakfast. It seems I was a whole kilogram heavier this morning ! I was expecting another morning with stupidly, and dangerously high blood glucose readings. I was wrong ! My readings this morning were not far short of excellent. The Contour meter read 7.6mmol/l, or 0.1 over my new ideal target of 7.5mmol/l. The GlucoRX meter read an even better 7.1mmol/l, and even the Sinocare meter managed a low reading of 7.7mmol/l.

On the strength of those readings I awarded myself a double small instant noodles for breakfast. I am not sure what I am doing for the rest of the day, but I can predict it is going to include a few long snoozes to make up for my sleep shortfall last night. One thing I should be doing is getting some exercise in the sunshine, but I don't think that is going to happen. It is possible that I could get some exercise tonight by going to a gig I really would like to go to, but there is a very silly problem. Today I have to eat the second, and last main course curry, and rice. It has been in the fridge for 2 days now, and will probably spoil if kept any longer. If I stuff my face with it for dinner I will feel too stuffed, even if it only a very minimal stuffing, to go out. One possible solution would be to have it as a mid afternoon lunch/dinner. I think I will just make it all up as the day passes, and give up on any idea of a plan that I will do this, that or the other.
