The
Met Office forecast (as in the
screenshot above) predicted
drizzle, and the ground did look
damp earlier. For the rest of
the day, The Met Office offer no
more than a 20% chance of rain
at any time today, and so the
chances are it will be dry, but
very cloudy for the rest of
today. It is worth mentioning
that The BBC forecast predicts
light rain for much of the day !
Both forecasters agree
that the temperature will only
reach 15° C today - great
weather for February ! Tomorrow
could be similar to today, but
feature lighter cloud, and it
could warm up to 18° C.
Yesterday got off
to a bad start, but the rest of
the day was at least "OK", and
there might have been a few good
good bits. The bad thing in the
morning, actually very late
morning, a few minutes to
midday, is that the pharmacy
didn't have my repeat
prescription ready.
It was possibly good that
my prescription was not ready.
The friendly assistant said it
seemed like the prescription was
still being edited when she
checked for my while I waited.
Hopefully that indicated that a
doctor was amending the doses in
accordance with the
Cardiologist's recommendation.
Hopefully I'll find out later
this morning when I go to the
pharmacy to see if there is any
news. It is possible they may
phone or text to say it is ready
to pick up.
There was no reason to do
it, but I rushed to the
pharmacy, and I was only in
there a minute or two before I
started walking home again. I
walked fractionally slower, but
I was only about halfway home
when I had to stop for a few
seconds after my angina started
kicking in. I am really hoping
that the CT Scan I am getting in
the middle of June will provide
a plan to cure this angina
because it is getting boring
now.
There was not a lot to do
when I got home but to probably
make things worse. I first had a
small lunch of some very naughty
crisps, and they lead on to a
daring experiment. I had it in
mind to have more of the ice
cream I had bought from Aldi,
but at the last minute I had a
small/medium tub of ice cream I
had bought from Tesco a little
while ago. It was made by Oppo,
but not the tried and tested,
and found to be generally safe
salted caramel flavour, but
gooey chocolate. It still said
it was very low calorie, but the
sugar content seemed to be
higher. It was rather good !
At about 3.30pm Jodie
arrived for another beer tasting
session. Many of the beers she
had selected for the last
deliveries were "fruit sours",
and not really beer at all. On
the whole I find them almost
undrinkable, and have almost
given up even trying them. I am
currently down to just half an
inch in the glass as a taster,
with the option for more if it
has any positive virtues. The
trouble is that actually finding
a drinkable one is a very rare
occasion !
The further trouble
is that leaves Jodie with more
"beer" than she fancies - less
room to sample more "beers". She
has taken to knicking my already
refilled many times, 500ml water
bottles so she can empty them
out, and use them to take the
surplus beers home so Alan can
try them - he likes those
horrible fruit sours. One of the
new beers was actually good. It
was the oatmeal stout, as
pictured above. It is in the
left glass, and the right glass
has genuine Guinness in it - a
genuine stout that I was using
to stop myself becoming thirsty
while Jodie slowly drank the
nasty fruit sours.
Jodie left half an hour
earlier than usual. It was so
she could meet Alan at
Clockhouse station, and then go
on to a tap room where some beer
event was taking place. I think
it was about a brewery who make
nasty fruit sours ! It was a bit
early, but I rustled up a salad
for my dinner. It involved an
awful lot of salad leaves, and a
lot of croutons - they rushed
out of the bag faster than
intended. It was a nice salad,
but somehow it didn't hit the
spot. I had a couple of small
bags of crisps as a sort of
dessert.
It was not a very
exciting evening, and I was in
bed early again. I seemed to
have little trouble sleeping,
and even had a few dreams that
have left fragments of memory.
I'm not sure it was really the
case, but I seemed to have one
very long period of sleep,
although with hindsight it was
probably only around 3 hours -
it was probably between about 1
and 4am. The thing that made it
seem lone was that it was as
good as light when I woke up
around 4am.
I got up unusually early
this morning, and there is a
reason for it. Sometime after
10am I should be visited by Lee
with his small plumbing kit, and
he will be changing the mixer
tap on the kitchen sink for the
brand new one I bought from
Amazon 6 months or more ago. I
just hope Lee can do it without
the whole lot leaking after he
has finished. The other
botherance is that he is
going to be far too chummy for
someone who I consider to be on
parole until he has demonstrated
that he really has got his booze
problem under control - the
signs at the moment is that he
has controlled getting drunk at
breakfast, but goes to bed so
pissed that he can't remember
where he has put things in the
night - including his wallet,
that he seems to keep losing.
That comes later, but so
far this morning things are good
and not so good. I did quite a
substantial poo last night, and
so hqave not needed to have one
this morning. I was hoping my
weight would have been at least
stable, but it seems to have
gone up another 100gm again this
morning. I know my eating has
been too loosely controlled
recently, and I must try to do
something about it. Some warm
sunny days would help a lot.
One the other hand, it
does seem that my blood glucose
is still quite well controlled.
There were no fantastic readings
this morning, but all were good.
The Contour meter read
7.5mmol/l, and that is my latest
target, and so I can't complain
about that. The GlucoRX meter
read 7.1mmol/l, as did the
Sinocare meter. Both are under
target, and only a bit above a
reading in the fantastic dark
green (6.xx mmol/l) area. If it
was warm and sunny, and I was
able to do the walking exercise
I would like to be able to do, I
could make 6.5mmol/l my new
target.....oh well, maybe summer
2025 will be more like summer.
I have already mentioned
that one thing I will be doing
later today is going back to the
pharmacy. Another thing there is
a very small chance I might do,
is to go to a gig tonight. There
is aband I have never seen
before, but I have some possibly
all the band members playing in
other groups before. They are
called Vfoxy, and are playing in
The Fellowship Inn tonight. The
pub is next door to Bellingham
station, and that is just 2
minutes on the train from
Catford station. It is very
tempting, but the last two times
a band played there I just could
be bothered to go out in the
evening. The chances of me doing
it this evening are slim, but in
an infinite universe, anything
is possible.
