Today's weather forecast, or at
least the early version of it,
may have been a bit pessimistic.
There are white fluffy clouds in
the sky, but I can't seem to
recall the sunlight dipping with
any clouds passing in front of
the sun. That is not to say it
won't happen, but it seems to
have been non stop sunshine as I
write this.The latest revision
to the forecast says the sunny
spells will finish at 1pm, and
then start again at 6pm. The
last two hours of daylight may
feature full sunshine from clear
skies. Those clear skies will
mean a cold start tomorrow, but
today the temperature should
reach 21
° C.
Tomorrow could start as lows as
13
° C, but it should rise to 20° C. The day will start with sunny
spells, but
rain is now
forecast in
the afternoon.
Most of it
will be light
rain, but 9pm
could see
heavy rain.
Even the day
after
tomorrow,
which was
forecast to be
a nice warm
sunny day may
feature rain
instead.
Yesterday was a day
that could be said to not have
happened. It was a day when I
seemed to be more content to be
completely lazy rather than do
anything except washing a couple
of plates, and preparing a few
very simple meals. The one
single thing I did do was to
fight any temptation (and there
was a lot of it) to eat all the
wrongs things in all the wrong
quantities.
My breakfast I managed to
keep to just a single, albeit
large bowl of instant noodles.
My lunch was just rice crackers
with cheese, and my dinner was
the Tesco Caesar salad kit -
basically a salad with the
chicken kept in a small
compartment, and croutons and
dressing in their own pouches
until you mixed it all together.
I did finish off my dinner with
a few zero sugar chocolate
biscuits. I also had a couple of
snacks during the day of a
handful of salted peanuts.
My only TV entertainment
in the evening was to watch most
of a savagely edited, and rudely
interrupted by long advert
breaks, film of David Gilmour
(Pink Floyd) performing a
concert at Pompeii to celebrate
40 years since the epic Pink
Floyd concert that was filmed
there. I couldn't keep my mind
on just the music, and my mind
started to wander.
I thought to myself what
it must be like to play an
overdriven Stratocaster guitar
through what must have been a
gigantic P.A. system. I
speculated that the entire
output of the P.A. must have
been in the order of at least
100Kw. That should have been
enough to trigger another
volcanic eruption. I did a
search to see if I could find
any technical details, but all I
could find was a list of the on
stage equipment >

As I write this, the first
two links are not loading. I am
sure the first one was the one I
checked last night. The second
may have other interesting
information. The last link is
more like am shopping list, and
shows links to potential sources
of the equipment. It is written
from the point of view of a
salesman. The other two are
definitely meant for musicians
and guitar nerds !
I was a bit worried that
the Caesar salad might have
triggered a bit of
heartburn/acid indigestion last
night. In fact it did for a
little while, but this rare time
it was mild enough to ignore.
Last night was another night
when I was asleep before it was
dark outside (at approx 9pm).
Like the previous night I seemed
to sleep well, and possibly
better, but I still had to have
3 or 4 pees in the night. Once
again I wondered if my blood
glucose level was too high, but
it seems likely it was just the
ongoing end to a period when I
seemed to be retaining water
(eve while seeming to pee quite
normally).
I know I had some dreams
last night, but when I try and
remember what they were I keep
seeming to remember only what I
described yesterday of the
dreams the night before. The
only thing I can remember from
last night is something to do
with a sphere. I am not sure if
it was big or small, edible or
inedible, although I have a
feeling that it was big enough
to get into. I have no idea of
it's purpose.
I can't say I felt that
wonderful this morning, but I
suppose I didn't feel bad. One
pleasing thing was that it was
one of those mornings that
started with a pee and a poo -
soon after getting out of bed.
The first thing I did after that
was to get on the scales. This
morning I am happy to say that I
seemed to have lost a whole
kilogram in a day, and my weight
is only a few hundred grams
short of my lowest weight for
the last few months. There is a
chance that when I see the nurse
of Thursday she may be able to
record 2 or 3 kg weight loss
since the last time she weighed
me.
I needn't have worried
about my blood glucose level
this morning. It was better than
yesterday ! The Contour meter
read 7.2mmol/l. The GlucoRX
meter read 7.3mmol/l, and the
Sinocare meter read 7.2mmol/l,
the same as the Contour meter.
That is three readings all in
the light green, and all three
below my current target of
7.5mmol/l. My blood glucose
reading, which I have just
taken, was pretty good, or
indeed possibly so good that it
might have been on the edge of
being too low at 99/47. I am not
sure where too low starts -
probably at the point I fall
over !
Apart from one very
important thing, I am unsure
what I am doing today. The very
important thing is to have a
good shower after not bothering
to wash for 2 days. I ought to
wash my hair too. Today would
normally include an after noon
beer session with Jodie, but she
said there were no trains today,
and so she would give it a miss.
Maybe she mistook no trains to
Lewisham as no trains at all,
but apart from the trains not
calling at Lewisham, because of
engineering works, there is a
normal Sunday two trains an hour
between Hayes (Kent) and Charing
Cross.
It is possible she will
see there are trains, and decide
to come over after all. The
potential problem with that is
that I suggested to Kevin that I
would be at a loose end today,
and that I might be up to
anything he fancied - whether
train spotting or boozing. If I
get a definite, and early
enough, confirmation that Jodie
is still not coming over, I may
decide to go out on my own. On
the other hand, today might be a
good day to try out my new
cordless strimmer in the garden.
I can't put off doing any
gardening for ever - not while I
have invested £50 in a new tool
!!
