My
Electronic Diary For July 2024 |

Yesterday was hot ! The
temperature reached about 30° C.
You'll note that the
forecast, even the very latest revision,
says it should be full sunshine now... It is
actually very dull ! I can see a few blue
areas of sky between the clouds, and the sun
could peep out at any time, but I feel sure
that it will be a bit of a wait until we get
full sunshine. Assuming we do get full
sunshine sooner or later, the temperature
should reach at least 27°
C. There is a weather
warning for thunderstorms,
and I think that includes
today, although the only
day when they are shown on
the chart is tomorrow.
Tomorrow's forecast
replaces all today's full
sunshine (if we ever get
it) with sunny spells, but
the temperature profile
stays the same. The big
difference starts at 4pm,
which is the earliest the
forecast thunderstorms
could happen.
Yesterday not really a satisfactory day. Maybe it was me, maybe it was the heat, but I found I had almost zero "get up and go". Most likely it was both the heat and me. Under the right circumstances I can get quite busy on the hottest of days, although admittedly that usually only happens when I go for a long walk - something I can't do unless I get this angina fixed. What I did do, plus notes about my night and this morning, can be read in my full archived page for today. |

Yesterday was lovely warm
and sunny. The temperature reached about
27° C.
Today should be
even better than yesterday. Non stop
sunshine (
Yesterday came close to being a good day. In fact some parts of it were good, and they were helped along by this cold I still have, slowly getting better, and being less intrusive. It all enabled my to do a few useful things. Like most days recently, it all went wrong at bed time. All this is explained, along with notes and stuff about my night, and this morning, in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday was mostly warm
and sunny, but there were a few hours in
the early afternoon when the cloud became
just thick enough to block any direct
sunshine. The temperature reached about
25° C.
Today has started with
a clear blue sky and sunshine. If the
forecast is correct it will stay like this
all day, and the temperature should reach at
least 27° C
(although the headline figure is 28°
C). Tomorrow should see full sunshine
until 3pm when it will change to just
sunny spells. At 10pm there could be
drizzle. It should be even warmer than
today with a high of at least 28°
C.
Yesterday was mostly a good day. I did very little coughing (at least by comparison to the day before), and I did a few useful things. It is a shame it all fell to pieces once I went to bed. I had another terrible night, but I'll describe that further down my archived page for today that also includes notes about my night and this morning.. |

Yesterday wasn't always
sunny, but the morning, early afternoon,
plus early evening all featured sunny
spells. The temperature reached 23° C.
There is a clear blue
sky now, and the sun is full on. This
afternoon may see it change to just sunny
spells/intervals. It will still be a very
nice day, and it should be getting hot. 25°
C is forecast. Tomorrow should see full
sunshine from dawn to dusk, and the
temperature may reach 28° C.
Everything I did yesterday, which admittedly was not much, was guided by the fact that I was rather ill. I had hoped that I would start to feel a lot better once I was up, washed and dressed. I didn't ! I was coughing up loads of mucus all day long, although that did come an go a bit depending on what I was doing. What I did do during the day, the night, and also this morning, plus how I felt, is all described in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday was fairly nice.
It probably included some duller hours
rather than sunny spells all day, but
otherwise the forecast got it fairly close
to reality. One thing it didn't show was
rain, but the rain I saw only seemed to be
about a dozen drips of rain, and I think
it was not long after midday. If I hadn't
seen a few drops of rain on an open window
I would not have known it had happened. It
seemed a warm enough day, and once again
the forecast of 23° C, may have been a a
degree or two short of the actual
temperature. I wonder if Catford being in
a sort of valley between two rows of
hills, traps a little more heat than the
wider area.
Today's weather looks
a lot like yesterday's in the current
forecast, although there is a slight
difference because 4 and 5pm are only shown
as cloudy. Actually the latest revision now
shows 4, 5 and 6pm as light cloud. Once
again the maximum temperature is shown as
23° C. Tomorrow should see more non stop
sunshine, and that might push the
temperature up to 25° C.
Yesterday was a bit like the day before in as much as it was a fine day, but terrible evening and night. The nest thing was that it definitely felt like I was 99% over my cold. That turned out to be very wrong, but during the day I could enjoy feeling just about normal. My normal day, and my terrible night, along with some notes about this morning, and what I have to miss, is all explained in my complete archived page for today. |

The forecast said
yesterday would see almost non stop rain,
although it would all be light rain or
drizzle. in reality many hours were dry,
and I'm sure I can remember 2 minutes of
sunshine at some time yesterday. It was
not a warm day, although around midday it
was comfortable to go out in just a
t-shirt, and not get wet (although I did
feel a few drips of rain as I neared
home). The temperature was forecast to
reach just 20° C, but Once again it may
have been a degree or two higher.
The weather has turned
around again, and today should be bright and
dry, and warm. It seems it will be mostly
sunny spells rather than full sunshine, but
it may be building up to that in a day or
two. This afternoon we can expect 23° C.
Tomorrow may see the same temperature, but
the morning will possibly feature
hours of non stop sunshine. The following
days may be even better !
Yesterday was one of those days that had some good bits and bad bits until the evening when it became progressively bad. It was all to do with the cold I have been suffering from. The symptoms were changing - some for the better, and some for the worst. My day is described, alongside some notes about my night, and this morning, in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday's weather
was not that bad. There was an occasional dull
period, and I did see 6 raindrops on a window
sometime in the late afternoon. It was generally
warm with the temperature easily rising to the
forecast 23° C. Once again it may have been a
degree or two higher according to a consensus of
my outdoor thermometers.
There seemed to be a
fair amount of light rain in the small hours of
this morning, but it is currently dry. However it
is quite cloudy, and the idea of drizzle or light
rain during the day seems quite likely. The
temperature should rise to 20° C for three hours
according to the latest revision. Tomorrow may be
a pleasant day with loads of sunny spells/periods,
and the temperature should rise to 22° C.
It was a shame to miss my Wednesday lunchtime drink in the Jolly Farmers. As I expected, fresh air did help to reduce my coughing, although the chances were that it would have started up again while sitting in the pub. Fortunately it was not a spoiled day. The useful, and less useful things I did yesterday, plus how my sleep was much improved, but not perfect, and my reasonable start to this morning, is all described in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday's weather
forecast actually came close to the truth. There
was rain early in the morning, and there was
rain very late in the morning, although that was
just some short lived fine drizzle. It barely
managed to wet the road outside. From earlier in
the afternoon than forecast, there were nice
sunny spells, and once again they drove the
temperture a little higher than the forecast 23
° C - maybe as high as 25° C, but there was
often something a little more than a gentle
breeze to make it feel cooler.
Today is one of those
days when the forecast has kept changing over the
last 24 hours. Some versions showed no rain, and
others a fair bit of rain. The very latest
revision just shows light rain for 1pm and 9pm.
Most of the rest of the time should feature sunny
spells. As I type this there is a fair amount of
cloud, but the sun is shining, albeit not at full
strength because it seems to be shining through
very thin cloud. It seems to be a mild morning,
and the temperature should peak at 23° C in the
afternoon, although like a lot of days recently,
the reality could be a couple of degrees higher.
Tomorrow could be a very dull day, and after
midday it could turn wet - initially no more than
some drizzle, but possibly building up to heavy
rain by mid evening. it is probably going to feel
very cool with the temperature only reaching 19°
C.
Yesterday was another day that was sort of good at first, and then gradually went downhill to another terrible evening. Some of it can probably be attributed to the mild cold I still seem to be suffering from. Some of the negative aspects can be blamed on a stomach upset I didn't realise I had until I realised it at the speed of sound ! My whole day, the gruesome details of my night, and my health indicators this morning, are all described in my complete archived age for today. |

It is getting a little
boring how the weather forecasts for almost the
last week have been basically wrong. Yesterday
may have started of very dull, but the clouds
started to break up before midday, instead of
the forecast time of 4pm. There were times after
that when the sun hid behind a cloud for 10 or
15 minutes, but the overall feel was of a nice
sunny day. I'm sure the highest temperature
eneded up a couple of degrees over the forecast
23 ° C.
There was rain in the
small hours of this morning, but not at 8am as
shown above. Light rain for 10 and 11am is still
predicted, but at the moment it looks like the
cloud is breaking up rather then getting denser.
Sunny spells from 3pm are still forecast. All my
thermometers say it is roughly 21° C now, or a
couple of degrees above the forecast figure, and
so it is possible it could actually rise to 25° C
by late afternoon. Tomorrow is currently shown to
be a bright day with lots of sunny spells, maybe
even sunny periods, and it should reach 25° C in
the afternoon.
Yesterday was a slightly strange day, and it was not until late afternoon/early evening that I discovered one of the main reasons for it. Initially it just seemed to be an extension of the day before when I felt like I was still recovering from all my activities last Friday. It is possible that last Friday may have had something to do with it all. My day, which didn't amount to much, and my night which did amount to a lot before I finally fell asleep, plus some notes about this morning, can all be read in my complete archive page for today. |
Monday 22nd July

08:48
BST
Once again, the
weather forecast was quite wrong. Yesterday was
not a dull day, but featured many sunny spells
from around mid morning until sunset. That meant
the temperature rose to a very warm 24 ° C.
The weather forecast for
today looks to be very similar to that for
yesterday, and which didn't match reality. I must
admit that looking at the sky does rather suggest
that it is going to be a grey morning, but like
yesterday there still might be a chance that the
clouds could break up to give a nicer day. The
forecast does say sunny spells from 4pm onwards,
and maybe it will happen sooner. This morning felt
chilly enough to make me close my bedroom window,
even if it was 18° C according to my thermometers.
It is expected to rise to 23° C this afternoon.
Tomorrow could start a degree cooler than today,
and there might be some light rain at 10am, but
otherwise tomorrow could be the same as today,
which might, or might not, be the same as the day
before yesterday.
Yesterday was a mostly quiet, mostly lazy sort of day. I ended up doing very little, and I was even still sober after a Sunday afternoon beer tasting session. One good thing I did do was to mostly be careful about what I ate - but I did take a chance on one thing. It seems that most of the day was OK, and it is all described, along with some notes about my sleep, and my health this morning, in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday's weather
forecast turned out to be very wrong. There were
a few odd hours when it became slightly dull,
but most of the day featured sunny spells. It
took the temperature up to about 25 or 26 ° C.
Maybe today really will
feature light cloud for most of it, although sunny
spells are still forecast from late afternoon. It
should be a dry day.At the moment every
single one of my thermometers agree it is 20° C
outside, or 2° higher then forecast. By mid
afternoon the temperature is forecast to rise to
22° C, but maybe after a higher start it may reach
as high as 24° C. Tomorrow will likely follow the
same pattern as today, but the temperature is
forecast to reach 23° C.
Yesterday was a mixed day. It seems that doing the gardening I did the day before, and then going to a gig the same evening, drained all my resources. I felt quite tired yesterday, and it wasn't really a sleepy sort of tired. It was tiredness of body, soul, mind, and tonsils...or something. All I did yesterday, my night, and this morning, is all described in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday was like a
summer's day should be. It was bright and hot with
the temperature peaking at 30° C.
Sadly it seems summer is
over again. Today may still reach 24° C, but it is
dull now, and it may stay dull until there are
some sunny spells from6pm. At 1pm it might even
rain, although the latest revision moves the light
rain to 2 and 3pm. Tomorrow may stay dry, but like
today, most of the day will be dull until sunny
spells from 6pm. It will be a little cooler too
with just 23° C forecast.
Yesterday was a most splendid day. I did stuff I did not really expected to do, and it included going out in the evening. If that wasn't unexpected enough, spending at least 90 minutes, in the blazing sunshine, doing some very long garden maintenance, was completely unexpected. All this is described in fuller detail, along with my night (a good one for a change) and the start of this morning, in my complete archived page for today. |

BST
After a few dull hours
at the start of the morning, yesterday was
generally sunny and bright. It was also warm too.
The temperature peaked at 26° C.
Unlike yesterday, today
has started with clear skies and lots of sunshine.
All yesterday's sunshine must have really warmed
up the earth, houses, etc, because it was not a
cold night, and we seem to have started at 20° C according to my thermometers. We may have continuous
full sunshine
today, and
that should
push the
temperature up
to a glorious
29 or 30° C.
Tomorrow may only see sunny spells, although even
those could fail for a few hours in the afternoon,
and so the temperature may only reach 24° C.
Yesterday was a good day. Seeing the nurse in the morning was good. Going to Tesco a little later in the morning was good. Eating a small heap of nice stuff for lunch was good. A double beer tasting/drinking session in the afternoon/early evening was good, and eating some tasty stuff afterwards was good, but the latter was probably my downfall. All this is described in greater detail, including notes about my night and this morning, in my full archived page for today. |

There might have been a
short break in the sunny spells yesterday, but it
was hardly noticeable. It was a dry day, and the
temperature rose to a pleasant 23° C.
The BBC forecast (above)
and the Met Office forecast both say there should
be sunny spells right now, but it seems very dull
as I write this just before 6am. I can see several
shades of grey when I look up at the sky, and I
can also see some blue, but the biggest blue patch
only looks big enough to poke my finger through.
If the cloud does break up then we can look
forward to a nice bright day, and the temperature
hitting 26° C.
Tomorrow could be even sunnier, and the
temperature might even hit 30° C !
Having written about my day up to just before yesterday's dinnertime, I only have to write about last night's evening, and of course my night. This morning I have started writing extra early because I woke up quite early, and got up because I have a lot to do before going to the surgery to see the nurse. My account of the rest of my day, my night, and also so far this morning, can be read in my complete archived page for today. |

BST
The problem with
yesterday was it was mostly a nice day, and unlike
the predictions in the weather forecasts. Now I
must admit it did rain a few times, and at 5 or
6pm there was a very heavy downfall, but 15 or 20
minutes later the sun was out again, and it was a
nice evening. I think the temperature reached at
least 22° C, or a couple of degrees higher
than forecast.
The forecast has not
changed much in the last revision or two, but it
has changed a lot since yesterday. What was once
forecast to be a very sunny day, now has a big gap
in the afternoon when it will be cloudy. The Met
Office did show just a single hour with no sunny
spells at midday, but now they say there should be non stop sunny
spells through
the whole day.
They also say
a max of 25° C° C
instead of the
BBC's 23° C° C° C.
Tomorrow
could be warmer still - loads of sunshine, and the
temperature peaking at 27° C.
I didn't fancy going out yesterday, although by mid afternoon I was getting a bit depressed that I hadn't made more effort because it did look nice outside. If it only wasn't for this angina I suffer from, it could have been a great day for a walk. I just had to do other things. My day, my night, and my morning, plus some of my afternoon, is described in two halves, for reasons I explain in the second half, all in my complete archived page for today. |

BST
There was some heavy
rain yesterday, but not as much rain as
forecast. The morning started with some nice
sunshine, but before the morning was over it
clouded over, and the rest of the days was very
dull. Rather than non stop light rain in the
afternoon, as per the forecast, there were just
passing showers. Much of the time it was almost
dry until 6 or 7pm when we did have some very
heavy rain for a while. None of the later forecast
thunderstorms happened. The highest temperature
was mid morning when it was 19° C.
As I type this at least
50% of the sky is blue, and we have had some
sunshine, and it did not appear in the forecast !
Nevertheless it does seem that it could cloud over
this morning, and once again there will be
possibloy just passing showers for most of the
rest of the day. On the other hand I feel today is
one of those days between different weathers, and
it is impossible to predict what today's weather
will really be like. For instance we could "borrow" some of tomorrow's
weather which
is forecast to
be bright and
cheery. Today
the
temperature
may reach 20° C and tomorrow could see 23° C° C° C.
Yesterday was a sort of good day, and it even ended well. Of course in terms of weather it was not a great day, but I still managed to do enough to keep me reasonably happy. I even went out in short sleeves in defiance of the weather forecast, but it was spitting with rain as I walked home again. All this and a lot more is described in greater detail, plus notes about my night and this morning, in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday could almost
be described as a sunny day, but there were a few
times when the sunshine failed. On the other hand,
rather than say it was a long series of sunny
spells, many of the hours in the day seemed to
have uninterrupted sunshine for that full hour -
or so it seemed to me. The temperature easily
reached the forecast 21° C, and possibly a degree or two
more.
Today is a big
disappointment. A day or two ago it seemed like
today could be the start of some summer days, but
that started, and finished yesterday. Today has started with some nice sunshine, although it
is a couple of
degrees cooler
than expected.
The latest
revision has
changed the
drizzle shown
for midday to
light rain,
and then it is
light rain all
day long until
it is possible
we have some
thunderstorms
from 8pm for a
few hours. The
temperature
will peak at
19° C by late morning, and after midday it starts to go
down again.
Apart for the
thunderstorms,
and an earlier
start to the
rain (11am),
The Met Office
agrees with
this forecast.
Tomorrow is no
longer the
warm sunny day
once promised,
but it looks
like it will
be almost non
stop light
rain with the
temperature
peaking at 20° C at the end of the afternoon.
Yesterday was another day that started well, but ended up terrible. I didn't seem to start yesterday roaring with enthusiasm, but I had had a reasonable sleep, and felt capable of doing "stuff" - up to a limit. That stuff included washing my hair and having a shower after ignoring the shower for the two previous days. The rest of my day, my terrible late evening, and early hours of this morning, but some notes about this morning, can be read in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday was a bit
better than forecast - at least I think it was. I
seem to recall that from late morning there were
occasional sunny spells. That was more like the
Met Office forecast. I don't seem to recall the
forecast early evening rain, and maybe that was
replaced by a few sunny spells. The temperature
probably did reach the predicted 19° C.
Today's weather
forecast, or at least the early version of it, may
have been a bit pessimistic. There are white
fluffy clouds in the sky, but I can't seem to
recall the sunlight dipping with any clouds
passing in front of the sun. That is not to say it
won't happen, but it seems to have been non stop
sunshine as I write this. The latest revision to
the forecast says the sunny spells will finish at
1pm, and then start again at 6pm. The last two
hours of daylight may feature full sunshine from
clear skies. Those clear skies will mean a cold
start tomorrow, but today the temperature should
reach 21° C.
Tomorrow could start as lows as 13° C, but it should rise to 20° C. The day will start with sunny spells, but rain is
now forecast
in the
afternoon.
Most of it
will be light
rain, but 9pm
could see
heavy rain.
Even the day
after
tomorrow,
which was
forecast to be
a nice warm
sunny day may
feature rain
instead.
Yesterday was a day that could be said to not have happened. It was a day when I seemed to be more content to be completely lazy rather than do anything except washing a couple of plates, and preparing a few very simple meals. The one single thing I did do was to fight any temptation (and there was a lot of it) to eat all the wrongs things in all the wrong quantities. Despite this I have still managed to write several paragraphs about yesterday, a few more about last night, and even more about this morning. All these paragraphs can be read in my complete archived page for today. |

Most of yesterday was
quite dull, but there were some sunny spells in
the last hours before sunset, and maybe the sun
managed to poke through a little hole in the
clouds at some unremembered time earlier in the
day. It stayed dry, and the temperature rose to a
cool feeling 18° C.
Today seems like it will
be very similar to yesterday except that instead
of some sunny spells at the end of the day, there
could be light rain instead. (The Met Office
forecast says no rain, but sunny spells instead).
This morning has started rather chilly feeling,
but the temperature might peak at 19° C for just a single hour.
Tomorrow could see the return of a lot of sunny
spells, and the temperature may reach a slightly
warm 21° C
Yesterday was a good day in as much as I achieved my main objective, and I did manage to have a few nice snoozes to make up for some of my lost sleep the night before. Other than that, it could be describes as a bit of a boring day. I did do one practical thing, and one less important, but useful thing. All this is explained or described in more detail, along with notes about my night, and this morning, in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday was
sufficiently like summer that I had several
windows open all day ! Mainly sunny spells
were forecast, but it seemed to feel like many
more hours were non stop sunshine. It drove the
afternoon temperature up beyond the forecast
22° C to possibly 24° C. Sadly, just before the day
officially
ended at
midnight,
there was some
rain.
I'm unsure how long the
rain continued in the night, but it is dry this
morning, and may stay dry all day. We may not see
any sunshine until around 8pm because prior to
that it will be cloudy. The BBC, as in the
screenshot above, shows white cloud, but the Met
Office shows dark grey cloud, but both say it will
stay dry. It will be a lot colder again today with
just 18° C expected.
Tomorrow could be very similar to today, but at
the moment light rain is forecast for just 5pm,
although the prediction shows a 15 to 23% chance
for a lot of the afternoon. Once again it will be
rather cool with 19° C predicted as a single peak at 5pm. Mostly it will be
as low as 17° C.
I suppose it's like many days these days, but yesterday was another day that was good and bad. Mostly the bad was in the late evening, but the seeds for that were sown earlier in the day. After my busy day the day before, I was quite content to be generally lazy in the morning - apart from writing 2,658 words yesterday morning ! My day, and my terrible night, plus some notes about my bad state of health this morning, are all described in my full archived page for today. |

Yesterday was a rather
splendid day with far more sunshine than forecast,
and not a single drop of rain. It even felt like a
warm (but not hot) summers day. The temperature
probably reached around 23° C, or two degrees higher than originally forecast.° C.
The sky is blue, and the
sun is shining. It should soon start to warm up
from a rather cool feeling 14° C.
If the forecast is correct the sunshine will give
way to just sunny spells, but the temperature is
still expected to rise to 22° C (The Met Office say 14° C !). At midnight some light rain could fall, and it
could continue
to rain until
6am tomorrow.
After that,
tomorrow
should be
mostly dry,
except for
some drizzle,
possibly
around 10am.
It will be a
generally dull
day, and not
warm at all.
Just 17° C is expected.
The good weather obviously helped, but yesterday was a splendid day for other reasons. One such reason would lead to the evening being a bit of a train wreck. The core of the reason for yesterday being so good was a short visit from my friend Patricia who I last saw in September last year. My day is described, with a few pictures, and I have writen some notes about my night, and this morning in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday featured far
less rain than forecast, but there was a lot of
rain for a few hours in the middle of the
afternoon. Much of the day was just very grey, and
rather cool at just 18° C° C.
Today should be rather
better than yesterday, a lot better !
The forecast doesn't mention it but we have
already had a short sunny spell. The latest
revision to the forecast still says white cloud
until 3pm, but has removed the prediction of a
shower at 1pm. From 3pm there should be sunny
spells, and just before the sun sets there should
be clear skies with full sunshine. The temperature
should reach 21° C.
The clear skies tonight mean tomorrow is going to
start very chilly, but a day of sunny spells
should warm it up to 22° C.
Yesterday was a day when little happened, but some of it was quite important, and sort of exciting. It was also a very lazy day, and I only did one thing of significance. Somehow, for a day when so little happened, it seemed to pass by very smoothly - probably far too fast. Time seems to be rushing towards a future that can on only be unwanted - i.e. death. Once again the weather
forecast for yesterday was almost pure fantasy.
There was rain, but most of it was after dark. The
afternoon did bring a few light showers, and not a
single hint of any thunderstorms close enough to
be heard. Most sunshine was in the early morning,
but there were a few sunny spells in the
afternoon, and that seemed enough to push the
temperature past the forecast 17° C to more like 20° C, and I thought I saw 21° C at one point in the late afternoon° C.
Today's weather forecast
from The BBC looks pretty grim, but I am not sure
I should believe it after the last couple of days
of forecasts that did not match reality. The
latest revision has changed a few things. 10am is
now shown as drizzle, and 4pm is now shown as
heavy rain, The most welcome, but actually
irrelevant change is that 11pm and midnight is now
shown as dry. It looks like there is a zero chance
of seeing any sun today....but that doesn't mean
it won't happen ! The maximum temperature today
may be just 18° C, and it is already that now. By 7pm it may have
dropped to 17° C. The Met Office forecast shows less rain, but
similar
temperatures,
and also a
complete lack
of sunshine.
Tomorrow may
feature a lot
less rain, and
there could be
some sunshine
late in the
day. It should
be warmer with
21° C forecast.
Yesterday seemed to be an OK sort of day. It was not exciting, although maybe there were a few individual excitements. I think the best thing about yesterday was that it was not nearly as bad as the weather forecast predicted. As well as being considerably drier, it was also warmer. In fact when being very active it did feel quite warm. My day is described in more detail along with my night and this morning, in my complete archived page for today. |

Once again the weather
forecast for yesterday was far too pessimistic.
Instead of continuous rain with occasional
thunderstorms, a lot of yesterday was actually
quite nice. There was some heavy rain, and I did
hear a couple of peals of thunder, but from about
5pm it was like a rather cold summers day. There
were long dry periods featuring sunny spells
before that as well. If it had only been
considerably more than 16° C I might have described it as a mostly good day..
At the moment it is
rather cold after a clear night, but the entire
sky is blue, and there is plenty of warm sunshine
- except the sun is still a bit low in the sky,
and it is having a hard time to warm anything up.
I'm still using the BBC forecast because the Met
Office forecast does not display nicely on my
screen, but I have checked it. It is slightly more
optimistic than the BBC forecast. It still shows
11am to 2pm as having almost black clouds, but
only shows light rain for 1 and 2pm. As can be
seen above, The BBC is predicting thundery showers
this afternoon. I am wondering if today will be
more like yesterday. There is one difference -
today might reach a glorious 17° C - a whole degree less cold
than yesterday. Incidently, the BBC
forecast has just been revised, and now only
shows thunderstorms for 11am, and then the rest
of the day until 5pm to be light rain.
There will only be a short break until more light
rain in the evening. Tomorrow is looking fairly
gloomy, and partly wet, but the temperature may be
up another degree to 19° C
for just 2 hours at 4 and 5pm.
It was nice to be able to relax for a lot of yesterday. I had no pressing problems, or indeed any real problems at all apart from well moaned about health problems, but even those health problems didn't spoil anything until late afternoon, or maybe early evening. As usual, all the bits I can remember about my day yesterday, plus my night, and also the start of this morning, is all described in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday was much
better than forecast. The forecast said there
would be almost non stop showers until late
afternoon. There were indeed some passing showers,
but not many, but there were also loads of sunny
spells - some short, and some long. From about
6pm, an hour later than originally forecast, it
was bright and sunny, and looked a bit like
summer. Sadly it was still a quite cool day,
although I think it was possibly one or two
degrees higher than the miserable 16° C that was forecast.
The BBC are painting a
terrible picture for today's weather. So far their
forecast has been correct. We had sunny spells,
but now it is rather dull. If the forecast is
correct, the first rain should fall at 10am. From
11am onwards there could be thundery showers (the
BBC love their thunderstorms, although most
predictions of them are wrong). The last couple of
hours of daylight could see some nice sunny
spells. Once again it is going to be a very cool
day with the temperature apparently going no
higher than 16° C.
Incidently, apart from only two thunderstorms
predicted, The Met Office agrees with the above
forecast. It seems to be a certainty that today is
going to be very wet ! Tomorrow may only
see generally light rain from midday onwards, and
it could be a tiny bit warmer at 18° C, but still extremely
low for July !
Yesterday was rather a good day for me, but not for someone else (I'll explain that further down the page). In one respect, the best thing was after a few last minute tweaks, my new web server (serving up this very page you are reading) was working in a nice stable manner. That allowed me to relax after a frantic day, the day before yesterday. My day is described, along with my night, and this morning, in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday was mostly
horrible. If it wasn't raing it was still very
dull, although an couple of times it brightened
up, but not enough for any sunshine. It was
forecast to only reach 17° C, but I am sure I can remember seeing° C
20° C on my thermometers for a while.
It has been raining this
morning, but as I type this I cans see some blue
bits of sky, and the sun is trying to shine. The
latest revision to this forecast insists that
there will be showers right through to 4pm. I
guess a few rays of sun between showers is allowed
in such a forecast. It was just 13° C earlier this morning, but
the temperature should rise to a mid autumn like
16° C today. Tomorrow
should start bright with sunny spells, but rain
might start at 11am, and start with a thunderstorm
! The rain will then continue until 7pm, and it
might include some thundery showers...the BBC are
ridiculously keen on thundery shows, and in
reality the usually, but not always, come to
nothing. Once again the highest forecast
temperature will be just 16°
C.
I could describe yesterday as a very productive day. On the other hand I could describe yesterday as a day when I wasted hours and hours of time. The good thing is that what I did yesterday enabled me to write this, and upload it to my web server. Whether that is a good thing, or a bad thing, is undetermined. My day, plus my night, and a few notes about this morning, are all described in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday was a
generally bright sunny day, albeit mostly sunny
spells. Unfortunately it was not a very warm day.
The forecast predicted just 19°
C, but I am
sure I saw 20° C, and maybe even a degree higher than that on my
thermometers.
it seemed warm
enough to have
some windows
open for a
time.
Both forecasters (BBC
and Met Office) predict a
lull in the rain early this afternoon, but most
of today is going to be wet. Quite a lot of rain
could be heavy, and although the Met Office
doesn't predict it, the BBC says thunder and
lightning for 11pm tonight. The best we
can hope for today is just 17° C. Tomorrow may see some sunny
spells, but there may be a lot of light rain.
The temperature could be really autumnal with
just 16° C.
Yesterday was yet another day that was mostly OK, but ended as a disaster, although strictly speaking the disaster was this morning from 3am. I'll mention the unpleasant details about that later. As predicted in my writing yesterday morning, I had a very lazy morning, and part lazy afternoon. I've described all I can remember about yesterday, some unpleasant details about my unpleasant night, and a few notes about this morning in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday's weather
forecasts were just a rough guide to how the
weather might be. In fact they got many things
wrong. Although there was some rain, it was a
mostly dry day. The dullness and rain forecast
from early evening turned into nice sunny spells.
The forecast of just 18°
C for a couple
of hours
towards the
end of the
afternoon was
about right.
Both forecasters (BBC
and Met Office) predict today would feature sunny
spells, and perhaps even hours of solid sunshine
all day today. For all that, the temperature may
only reach 19° C, which seems very low for
July. Tomorrow terrible, out of season weather
resumes. Tomorrow may start of very wet,
and also rather cold at just 13° C. It should slowly warm up to
a mere 18° C, but
it may rain all day long, although much of it
may only be light rain.
Yesterday may have ended as a disaster, but it was otherwise quite a good day. One of the good things about the day was that by just spending very little money, I made someone very happy for a while. More about that later. I think that was my only achievement yesterday. My day (good), my night (terrible) and this morning (generally bad news) is all described in my complete archived page for today. |

Neither the BBC, nor The
Met Office managed to produce a forecast that came
any where reality yesterday (although hastily
applied revisions did try and keep up). After a
brief sunny start, which was forecast, it was just
dull until nearly midday when we had several hours
of mixed light to medium heavy rain. That only
appeared in the forecasts after it had started.
From about 5.30pm the clouds went away to give a
rather nice sunny evening. I'm not sure that ever
appeared in the forecasts. The temperature did
reach just 18°
C, and that
was as
forecast.
There was some light
rain early this morning, but at the moment it just
seems dull. Drizzle followed by light rain,
lasting maybe 3 hours in total, may start at
midday. After that it may stay dry until
late evening. The Met Office broadly agrees with
this, although they do say the temperature could
reach 19° C, but the BBC say
just 18° C. Apart
for a cold start and finish tomorrow, just 13° C, tomorrow could be a bit
closer to how May, or maybe October might seem.
Lots of sunny spells and also some hours of full
sunshine, but still only 19° C.
Yesterday was probably another day where I was ultimately a bit bored, and/or depressed. This angina problem, knowing I can't walk for more then 6 or 7 minutes without getting unpleasant pains, is starting to get me down. Maybe today, and perhaps tomorrow will be more cheerful days. All the salient bots of my day, plus my night, and also this morning, are all described in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday started nice
and bright, but before the morning was over it
turned dull, and stayed that way for the rest of
the day. I'm tempted to say there was some drizzle
around the start of the afternoon, but I think
that was probably the day before. The temperature
reached 20°
C, and it
didn't feel
too cold.
Today it seemed time to
show the BBC weather forecast instead of The met
Office. Not only does this mean I don't have to
open a different web browser to see The Met Office
forecast (some coding change means it displays
rubbish on my every day web browser), but the BBC
forecast sometimes seems more optimistic....or
maybe correct ! For instance there was some sunny
spells early this morning - the Met Office's
mangled forecast said it would just be very dull.
Nearly all today will be very dull, and it seems
there could be as much as a 24% chance of some
rain this afternoon. It is going to be an almost
cold day with the temperature only briefly peaking
at 18° C. Tomorrow
could start off wet, but from about 9am it should
be dry, and cold. Once again the temperature
should peak at 18° C, but
not until the start of the evening.
Yesterday was good in places, and maybe in terms of my measurable health, it was actually quite a good day. On the other hand there were chunks of the day which were a bit boring, and lacked even a hint of excitement or fulfilment. On the other hand, two things were quite fulfilling. I do my best to explain all this, plus describe my night, and also this morning, in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday was mostly
dull, and around middy there was a period of light
drizzle. It was still almost warm with the
temperature peaking at about 21°
C, albeit for
maybe as
little as a
single hour.
This morning seems quite
cold after recent morning, although my
thermometers agree it is 16° C as I write this. The
sun is slowly breaking through the cloud. After
just some grey shadows from a bright bit of sky,
there are now very dark shadows, and the sun is
shining very brightly. It seems it won't last much
beyond mid morning, and then it will turn dull
again. Later this afternoon the light grey cloud
may turn into very dark cloud according to the
BBC. The highest temperature today is currently
forecast to be just 20° C.
From tomorrow I think I will be using the BBC
forecast as my prime source of information
(unless the Met Office web page starts
displaying properly in my usual web browser).
The BBC predict tomorrow to be another rather
dull day, and also a bit cooler at just 19° C. It seems like the
rest of the week, and into next week, could be
cold, dull and wet !
Yesterday was neither good nor bland. It was sort of bland, although it had it's moments like most days do. Maybe I might describe some of it as being "relaxed" instead of "lazy". In other words I didn't do a lot, but I did a few things, and I wasn't bothered to do more.....although as I write that I do wonder why I should describe that as relaxed. My whole day, what there was of it, plus my night and this morning are described in my complete archived page for today. |
