Yesterday started wet, and finished wet, and it was wet in the middle as well, although contrary to what the forecast seemed to suggest, there were some times when it wasn't raining. There was no hint of any sunshine. The temperature was  13° C nearly all day, but it did dip to 12° C in the morning, and after 7pm.

The forecast shows light rain for the whole day, but it is not raining as I write this, and like yesterday there may be odd hours without rain. Ignoring the fact that my thermometers say it is now just over 13° C, only two temperature are shown in the forecast - most of the day will be a flat 11° C, but it will fall to just 10° C at 7pm. Tomorrow could be up to 3° C cooler than today, and drizzle is forecast for most of the day.

Yesterday was an odd sort of day. It was generally good, but it was another day when I felt tired, and I did not feel very dynamic. I did some important stuff - eventually.

I suppose yesterday was ruled by having to wait for two deliveries. The first I mentioned yesterday because my new Canon printer arrived while I was still writing, and I even had time to prepare a copy of the delivery proof photo to show here. The second delivery arrived at about 3pm, and I just could not get around to doing anything until it was safely in my hands. Between the deliveries I probably had a snooze, spent some time laying on my bed reading, and I had some lunch.

My lunch was an Aldi double chicken club sandwich.  That reminded me of the part of my lunch the previous day, and what I had forgotten when I tried to write about it yesterday. It was another pack of sandwiches from Aldi, and specifically it was one of those much warned about, for all sorts of alleged unhealthy reasons, "All Day Breakfast" sandwich. I didn't bother to check, but they are said to have too much of everything bad, including the nitrites uses in preserved meats that will kill us all of stomach and bowel cancer before we reach 50 years of age (or just over 20 years ago in my case).

I had a nice lie down after lunch, but I could not have the snooze I wanted while I was waiting for the second delivery. That delivery was a spare set of ink cartridges for my new printer. As I mentioned yesterday, the cartridges look very similar to the spares I have for my old Canon printer. As yet I haven't actually tried to see if those old cartridges will fit. Both printers are "series 700" printers, and so there may still be a chance.

I suppose it was around 4pm when I decided to stir myself, and start setting up the new printer. It is basically simple, but it seems to be more complex than the older printer. I don't remember the old printer doing so many self checks, which included printing an test patter, and then sucking the paper back in to over print some of the first printing. It is almost as if there is a camera inside that checks what has been printed.

Finally I presumed it was all set up and ready to go. I first printed a test page using my PC, and that printed perfectly first go. I then printed out a couple of spreadsheets of my health readings. It was all as it should be, but still seemed marvellous that it was all so smooth - particularly the paper feed through the printer. The main problem with the old printer is that it has a very hard time pulling a blank sheet into the print mechanism. I think I know why, and if I get into the right mood I may even be able to repair it (possibly using a hastily invented bodge). For the moment I am happy that when I print out all my health records (blood glucose, weight, blood pressure and stuff) for my next visit to the nurse, this coming Monday morning, I can do it without it being a big struggle.

Before long it was time to get my dinner ready so I could eat it while watching the 6 O'clock News. It was another Greek style ready meal.......

It was a Pastitsio - similar to Moussaka, but with a layer of macaroni type pasta. I didn't think it was nearly as good as the Moussaka. I will probably get another Moussaka from this range of Greek Food ready meals from tesco (and maybe elsewhere), but I think I will pass on another Pastitsio. For a naughty dessert I had a slice of Angel cake with lemon and pistachio ice cream.

After dinner I spent the rest of my evening watching TV - the usual stuff I list most days. I went to bed at 11pm. I guess I was really tired because after getting into bed, I got myself relaxed, and the next thing I knew was that it was 6.30am (or was it 7.30am ?). I remember absolutely nothing about my night. I don't even remember getting up for a pee in the night, although based on the fact that I didn't wake up with my bladder about to burst, I probably did get up for a pee at least once.

After getting up I went to the toilet, and did no more than an average pee. I also did a fair sized poo. The latter may have been more important than I thought at the time because when I weighed myself I found that somehow I had lost 600gm. That is quite a lot, and semi miraculous after my dinner (plus any snacks and my lunch). I suppose I ought to attribute it to using Mounjaro, but I still am not convinced that does any more than help regulate my blood glucose level.

My blood glucose was very slightly up this morning, but still generally good. The Contour meter read 7.7mmol/l, and I generally say that any reading starting with a seven is very good. The GlucoRX meter read an even better 7.0mmol/l. The new meter, the GlucoFix, read 8.0mmol/l - and once again I did that reading twice to make sure there hadn't been an error or something. Looking back at the last few months or records, I wonder why I think the GlucoFix meter was kind to me. It was kind compared to a couple of cheap Chinese meters I tried, but otherwise it tends to be very similar to the other two meters I regularly use.

My blood pressure is a very reasonable 118/53, although my pulse rate is fairly high at 69 bpm, and it has been slightly high for the last week or two now. Maybe it is because I keep taking when I have started writing late, and feel I am in a rush to finish. If that is true then it is a bit off that my systolic and diastolic blood pressure remains good.

One reason for a perceived rush is that I think I will hear from Patricia this morning to say she is on the train to London, and will be seeing me for lunch. As I write this it is now 11.22am, and I need to wash my hair and have a shower before I am presentable. As much as I am looking forward to seeing Patricia, it may be that she will be heading to London tomorrow. That would clash with my Sunday afternoon beer tasting with Jodie, but if that happens maybe Jodie will forgive me when she hears that yesterday I ordered another big box of beers. I expect she will say she had had most of them before, and that they are all too strong, but I hope I have found a few that she will need to try, and try again because she was not an Unappd member then last time she tasted them, and will need to taste them again so she can log them into Untappd.

Other than washing my hair, and showering, I do not have anything to do except to wait to hear from Patricia - but only if she was intending to head to London today instead of tomorrow (I think she just said "the weekend"). One thing I might do, even if in light rain, is going for a quick walk in the park. I am curious what the river is up to after all the rain we have had, and continue to have !
