Most of yesterday was dry and bright, and by bright I mean sunshine ! It was still a cold day with the afternoon only reaching 7° C, and the temperature dropped to just 3° C by 10pm.
 BBC_weather forecast
Once again it is definitely cold this morning, just over 3° C. Unlike yesterday it is grey and miserable. For the moment it is dry, but rain is forecast to start with drizzle at 2pm (the Met Office forecast says 4pm). The afternoon may only reach 5° C, and under a dark grey sky it is going to feel quite miserable. Tomorrow could see a high of 7° C in the afternoon, but it is currently forecast to be very grey, and rain may be falling at daybreak, and not stop until 6pm.

Yesterday featured some good exercise, and I think I benefited from it, but today will tell if I did or didn't. Some of yesterday was a bit boring, and the evening was not exciting - except for when I was eating a bit too much yummy stuff, and drinking two cans of lager.

Yesterday could be described as shopping day, but it was also delivery day for a few orders I made with Amazon. One delivery was by Royal Mail = my daily postman. It was a twin pack of pyjama bottoms. Having a couple of pairs that were a good fit made my stay in hospital more comfortable. I know hospital gowns are useful to give doctors access to all your body, but I don't find them comfortable, and tend to fall out of them at the wrong moments.

I went into hospital with two pairs, but only came out with one. I have no idea what happened to the lost one. The two new pairs that arrived yesterday are very comfortable around the waist, which is good, but the legs seem too long, which is not so good, but doesn't make them unusable in the way that a super tight waist would.

As soon as I received that first parcel I went out shopping. I first went to Savers where I topped up my vitamins and also bought some cheap bleach. After Savers I crossed the way and went into Poundstretcher where I bought some useful stuff that included some foil pie dishes that I use for roasting stuff in my mini oven. That, and other stuff from Poundstretcher, and what I bought in Savers, was a fairly light load to carry home.

My walk to and from the shops was not too bad. Doing it in sunshine, albeit rather cold sunshine, probably helped, but I did get some discomfort from my knees and ankles. It did feel like those pains were a lot less, and getting better after every little walk I have made recently. The same was not true when I went out again, after a nice rest, to the Pharmacy, and then around the corner to Aldi.

By the time I had walked to the pharmacy my ankles were really complaining, although I think my knees were mostly OK. I went to the pharmacy to pick up my new Mounjaro pen. I had reminded them to order it the day before, and it had arrived before I got there. I put it in my rucksack, and then went on to Aldi.

My ankles were really quite sore again after the short walk to Aldi. That should have served as a reminder to go easy on the amount I bought, but I don't think that part of my brain was listening. I had a sort of shopping list of stuff that I thought I wanted to buy, and as well as the usual random stuff I see on the shelves, and decide I need, I got everything on the shopping list (although the list was really just some ideas in my head).

Like the last time I was in Aldi (a week or two ago ?) I spent far too much compared to what I think as my usual bill in Aldi. The amount of money was no real problem because it is unlikely anything will be wasted (although some stuff may present too much temptation and I would eat it when I shouldn't). The real problem was how much I needed to carry home. I had 4 bottles of Diet Coke in my rucksack, and that adds up to 8kg. A wild estimate suggested the two shopping bags I also lugged home may have had 3 or 4kg in each.

I guess I should be positive and say it was a great test of my new heart valve, but at the same time it was almost a struggle to get it home without stopping. It was most definitely a relief to get home. After putting my shopping away I took two packets of newly bought sandwiches upstairs to my PC where I ate them while reading some stuff on the PC. My memory seems hazy after that, but that does sort of confirm that what I did next was to have a snooze.

I didn't do much in the afternoon except for one important thing. I did all the extra rinses of the towel I had started washing the previous day, and hung it up to dry on the big clothes horse with just the desk fan blowing at it to help it dry. The rest of my day was a very lazy time except for preparing my dinner, and starting it cooking half an hour before the 6 O'clock News.

That dinner was essentially chicken and chips - the chicken was extra roasted, ready to eat cold and greasy chicken thighs, but delicious when served hot. The chips were part precooked in beef dripping chips. I am not sure I have tried them before, but the beef dripping does give them a superior flavour. After the main course I had some ice cream for dessert. I'll add at this point that before dinner I injected myself with one dose of Mounjaro, and hoped it would control the extra sugar from the ice cream. (It did).

I watched some more TV after the news, but by 9pm, and maybe even a bit earlier, I was losing interest in TV, and fancied reading in bed for a while. It may have been as late as 10pm, but I think it may have been a bit earlier, that I felt like it was time to turn the light out, and go to sleep. Last night, as far as I can remember, I did fall asleep soon after I turned the light out. I didn't get a perfect sleep, because I had to get up and pee several or more times in the night, but I was expecting to.

I do remember having at least a couple of dreams, but all but one has slipped my memory, and even the one I do remember has left very little information. I think it was set in a hospital, and involved giving many samples to be tested. The only sample I can actually remember, in a vague sort of way, was a food sample....well it make a change from blood and poo samples.

I guess I must have slept well even if I have doubts about it, because it seemed very easy to get up around 7am. maybe needing a pee helped that along. When I weighed myself I found I had gained some weight. That was not good after doing my two shopping trips, but of course the second shopping trip was to Aldi, and that included buying much that was very tempting. I have to admit I gave in to temptation too many time. My weight gain was not too awful, but I don't want to increase my weight by 600gm too often.

My hope that the Mounjaro injection would do it's stuff quickly did happen. This morning my three blood glucose readings were 7.2, 8.2 and 7.9mmol/l. That was the first time this month that I have had two "sevens" on one day. If I can be "good" (unlikely) I could look forward to a "six" tomorrow, but another couple of "sevens" would be quite satisfactory.

One thing that could help my weight and blood glucose readings tomorrow, will be a walk through the park and back - to and from The Jolly Farmers. I had hoped it might be in sunshine after yesterday, but the forecast says it will be cold and grey with rain probably on my way home. I look forward to another happy session in The Jolly Farmers today.  Before that I want to have a snooze, and to have a shower, and probably wash my hair too.
