Yesterday was another warm and bright sunny day, but in one respect it is still falling short of being like summer. In the sun it felt very warm. The south side of my house, bathed in sunshine, was warm. The back of my house, the north facing side, still felt very chilly. The air temperature reached about 18° C during the afternoon after a cold start, and the temperature was forecast not to drop too far at night. 11pm was still expected to be 12° C, but I am sure it was lower.
second to last sunny day for a while
Today should be nice and sunny, but this current round of sunshine will end after tomorrow. This morning seemed to start colder than the 7° C shown in the forecast. It seemed to be barely 5° C to me, and it was either heavy dew, or frost on next doors shed roof (a large dark coloured roof tilted to radiate away any heat into space at night). This afternoon is forecast to hit 16° C, or a couple of degrees less than the last few days. It should still be nice, just not as nice as 18° C. Tomorrow, the last of the all sunny days for some time to come, will see the temperature rise to 17° C as a final hoorah ! Sunday could see several hours of sunshine, but also some overcast hours. The temperature may only reach 13° C, and in the days after that it just gets worse.

Yesterday, despite being a very nice day, was nowhere near as exciting at the day before. I seemed to have a very lazy morning, or I seemed to write yesterday's stuff in a very slow manner. Adding an assortment of pictures, and a couple of links to information on the internet were another reason for slower progress. I didn't even go for a shower until after midday.

Things started to speed up a bit in the afternoon. First of all I saw Michael, who had bought 6 bottles of Diet Coke for me while shopping in Tesco. At face value he seemed fine, but is still suffering from his gut problem, and our chat outside was cut a bit short when he decided he ought to get home because another visit to the toilet was needed. I know how that feels because, for completely different reasons, I had to make many visits to the toilet yesterday (mostly before the afternoon).

A bit later Jodie turned up with Alan in tow. That was good because he was someone else to talk to while Jodie was lost to the world doing stuff on her mobile phone. We had some good beers yesterday. Some of them were the stronger beers that Jodie hadn't fancied for some time. Maybe my suggestion that a 9% beer split three ways was equivalent to just 3% each. That is obviously an incorrect idea because just a third of a bottle is only a few mouthful, and in no time at all it would be time to open another bottle, but it seemed convincing enough at the time.

Jodie and Alan left just after 6pm to go to a gig in Camden. I felt I had drunk too much to do anything like that. I wanted to just get lazy in front of the TV, and watch the last 40 minutes of The Prisoner, and a whole episode of The Simpsons. I did indeed get lazy because I ordered a takeaway instead of cooking my own dinner. It was a very extravagant idea, but there was some reason for it. I ordered shish kebabs, and they are proven to have a very low sugar content if you don't eat the pitta bread.

By the time The Simpsons ended, 7.30pm, I was feeling rather tired. I didn't want to go to bed that early so I read some technology news for maybe almost an hour before going to bed. Once in bed I read from a book for half an hour or so. I am getting close to the end of the book, and there was a temptation to read until I had finished the book, but I felt too tired to do that. I guess it was around 9pm when I turned out the light, and soon fell into a really terrible night's sleep.

I think it must have been the pickled chillies, and chilli sauce I had with those kebabs that really upset my internal thermostat. For some reason I just couldn't stand being covered by the duvet. I didn't get sweaty when I tried to pull the duvet over me, but it somehow just felt very uncomfortable. I slept mostly uncovered, and by 1am I had to turn the heater on low. Fours hours later I had the heater turned up full as I tried to sleep.

I did seem to be awake a lot of last night - or so it seemed, but time is sometimes exaggerated at night, and some of it may have just been dreams. I did seem to dream a lot, and while none could be described as a nightmare, I didn't like them. One dream was rather curious, and with hindsight it must have been lots of short dreams seeming to be one long one. I was dreaming I was walking from somewhere known, sometimes with people I know with me at first, to somewhere I didn't know. Then I would turn a corner, and suddenly I did know where I was, and maybe there were different people I knew there. I don't know how many times this sequence happened, but it was starting to get sort of annoying, although I don't think "annoying" quite describes a vague negative feeling.

I got up earlier this morning because I was fed up with trying to keep getting back to sleep for some sort of crap dream. It was only a little bit earlier, maybe just 15 minutes earlier than some of my more typical early mornings. The only good thing is that the kebabs had worked their magic again, and my blood glucose was down to 8.3mmol/l. I am still aiming for below 8.0, but this morning's reading was good enough. Other than that, I feel bad. Principally I feel just as I would expect after a bad night's sleep, and maybe a touch of  hangover.

Originally I had some grandiose plans for today. I was thinking I might be able to start my goal of visiting every station at the limits of where my Freedom Pass can take me for free. Two things have got in the way of that (not including the fact that I just don't fancy doing it while I feel like I do at the moment). The first thing is that I have to go back to the pharmacy to see if they have cobbled together my latest repeat prescription yet. It is fairly important now because this morning I took the last pill from two of the drugs I take.

The other confounding thing is that it looks like an Amazon delivery I was expecting tomorrow may well be delivered today. It arrived at the Dartford depot, where my deliveries come from, at just gone 2am this morning. It is possible they could go out with an earlier driver, but most likely they won't leave there until almost midday, and arrive early this evening. If I knew that to be definite then I could do something in the early afternoon. Maybe today it might just be a walk in the park. Apart from going to the pharmacy soon after I have had a shower, I will make up the rest of the day as it goes along.
