Yesterday was almost exactly as forecast. There was almost non stop sunshine from sunrise to sunset, and the temperature reached a pleasant 25° C.

There doesn't seem to be any of the drizzle that the forecast predicts, or none yet, but it is rather dull, and it seems all of today will be dull. Light rain is still forecast for 9am and for 5pm, but the forecast does say there is only a 33% chance of it happening, and that low figure usually means it won't happen. Despite no sunshine it should still reach 24° C this afternoon. Tomorrow should start with full sunshine, but only the first half of the afternoon will feature sunny spells, the second half will be dull. It will be very slightly cooler, and just 23° C is forecast.
° C.
I thought my busy day, the day before yesterday, had left a legacy that slowed me down yesterday. I didn't specifically ache, but I felt reluctant to do any "hard" work.  Much later in the day I realised there was another problem, but I'll mention that further down the page.

One thing I did yesterday morning was very much needed. It was to have a full shave, shampoo and shower. After not showering the day before, and doing lots of sweaty work, I fell pretty yucky, and needing a good scrub. After all that lot I needed to cool down before I could do anything more - not that I really felt like doing anything else.

One thing I did do to help me cool down was to have a slightly early lunch - not a hot lunch, but a very cold lunch. I recklessly finished off the rest of what turned out to be a very sugar laden ice cream. I suspect that by mid afternoon my blood glucose level had gone through the roof ! It still seemed a good idea to get rid of the rest of the tub (quite a fair sized portion !) all in one go, and resolve never to buy that type again.

Maybe the sugar high, or maybe being cooled enough, or maybe it was just masochistic will power, but in the early afternoon I did the one productive thing I did all day (not counting minor things like washing a few bits of cutlery, or other trivial things. I decided it was a good day to wash a double duvet cover.

A wet double duvet cover is quite a weight to manhandle, and very tricky to try and wring out. In fact it seemed impossible to wring more than 70% of the water out, and probably less. That did mean the rinsing was not as thorough as I would usually manage, but three rinses seemed good enough, and then after fabric conditioner, it didn't really matter if it was still dripping a bit when I hung it on the washing line.

With that job done I went into intensive lazy mode. I laid on my bed, initially reading, and then had a nice snooze. Even though dinner time was not far off, I also had a snack of some cheese balls. As far as I could tell, they seemed to have a very low sugar level, and because they were so light and insubstantial, they seemed to contain few calories. Sadly that also were a bit short on taste.

When dinner time finally came around I prepared a salad for dinner. It was based on a small pack of ready cooked and sliced, BBQ flavoured chicken. To that I added iceberg lettuce, some tomatoes, the last couple of "fiery" beetroots, and a good splash of balsamic dressing - from a freshly opened bottle this time, and nice and tangy instead of stale tasting.

As usual for a weekday evening I watched some Star Trek episodes while I ate and while I digested what I had just eaten. I don't think any of the episodes I saw were very good ones, although the episode of Star Trek: Voyager was unusually that bad. During a commercial break, probably in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, I brought my freshly washed double duvet in off the washing line. I was bone dry.

Maybe one of the better things about the episode of Star Trek: Voyager was that I didn't see all of it. It was about 7.30pm, and just half an hour before a new episode of Secrets Of The London Underground was due to be shown, when I went from apparently constipated, to not constipated at all - with bells on ! I went to the toilet, and passed what seemed like a reasonable poo.

Five minutes later I was back on the toilet, and with the way now open, the floodgates were fully open, and the rest is probably best not described. I strongly suspect that my reluctance to do much yesterday was probably because of what was silently brewing up in my gut. I did feel a lot better for getting rid of it. The only negative thing is that my guts are now out of sync with reality, and this morning is feeling a lot like yesterday morning - with one difference - that I must be considerably emptier after yesterday night.

I was a bit worried that I would not finish on the toilet before the Secrets Of The London Underground was shown Fortunately I was ready to watch it. It was quite a good episode with the Northumberland Victoria Line depot being the main feature. It is the only part of The Victoria Line that is above ground, but is still difficult to see into from the nearest road, or from any passing trains (I noted there is a mainline railway passing one border of the place).

The programme conveniently finished at 9pm, or bedtime. I didn't go to bed straight away, but after brushing my teeth, and readings for a while, I was probably asleep a little before 10pm. It is not often you celebrate a negative, but last night I sort of celebrated that for another night I was not bothered by any heartburn, or angina type pains. I was able to fall asleep comfortably.

I seemed to have a very unremarkable night's sleep last night. I know I got up to pee a few times, but it seems like it was a very dreamlike experience. I remember that I had dreams, and I think they probably involved trains, but I can't seem to dredge a single memorable bit of dream from my brain.  The only oddity about my night was seconds after getting up I seemed to be yawning non stop as if I needed more sleep, but I am sure I got very close to my full eight hours.

One annoying thing, but also good thing, is that this morning I weigh exactly the same as yesterday morning. I am going through one of the dips of the roller coaster of weight. The longer it stays down the greater the chance of seeing some even deeper dips in my weight. At the moment, if I can keep up what I am doing (if only I knew what I was doing !), it is starting to seem possible that the 10s of kilograms on the odometer of life, could click down one. That would seem to be a great achievement - maybe doubly so when angina stops me doing and useful exercise.

This morning my blood glucose measurements were very good, but not quite as good as yesterday. The Contour meter read 7.6mmol/l, and the GlucoRX meter read the same very good figure. This morning the Sinocare meter was the odd one out, and read a bit higher at 8.2mmol/l. That is still good, but not as good. My blood pressure is a teeny weeny bit higher. My second reading was just a tiny bit better, but still not as good as yesterday, but 111/49 is still firmly in the "optimum" area.

After my full three way, shave, shampoo and shower yesterday, I should only need a shower this morning before going out to the pub for my regular Wednesday lunchtime couple of pints of Guinness, plus crossword solving in The Jolly Farmers pub. There may only be one peculiar difference today. I feel like if I could leave home half an hour, or a bit more early, I could spend that half hour going up and down the line, and taking a few extra photos of trains along the way.  Depending on the time, I might go as far as New Beckenham before crossing over to get a train back to Lewisham, and finally a train from Lewisham to Ladywell where I would be getting off on the right platform to walk straight into, and across the park to the pub.
