Yesterday's weather was nice that
the forecast predicted. The first
sunny spells in the morning arrived
late, but didn't last long. The
afternoon forecast of light rain was
actually more like light sunshine. I
am unsure if I remember any rain
yesterday, but there may have been a
passing shower that I missed. The
prediction of 20° C was probably
correct again.
The sun is trying to shine as I
write this, but there is a lot of thin
cloud to the east where the sun is. It
does look clear to the west. Maybe
there will be earlier sunny spells
than those forecast for 6pm until
sunset. The temperature today may only
be 21° C. Tomorrow the BBC is forecast
more thunderstorms that probably won't
happen. Like today there will probably
be sunny spells in the morning and
evening. The most likely time for a
thunderstorm is 4pm when there is a
55% chance of rain. It could be
sunshine instead of thunderstorms
again ! Tomorrow may see the
temperature rising to 22° C. Summer
may return next Wednesday.
Yesterday was not a very
productive day, and today is going to
be a mad dash. I need to try and make
today's electronic diary short so I
can get ready in time to get a train
to Petts Wood early enough to ideally
get there before 12:30. It should not
take long to describe yesterday.
I did not feel good yesterday,
and I am a bit unsure why. Thursday's
boozing didn't help. These modern
hangovers are not like the old ones.
The old ones were very painful at
first, but soon wore off. These new
ones are, like I think I described
yesterday, like having your brain
stuff with cotton wool. I had no get
up and go, and for the one time I did
need to get up and going I only
managed it through force of will.
After I had finished writing,
and and a lie down, I had a basic
shower, and then got ready to go
shopping at Tesco. The walk there was
not bad, but it was not enjoyable. The
walk home did have one interesting
moment. I passed a house down the road
from me with a Police van parked
outside. There were two WPCs on the
door step waiting for an answer. One
policeman standing a bit behind them,
and one quite burly policeman at the
front gate.
I have no idea what was going
on, but I expect it was a little old
lady who had been caught going 21mph
in a 20mph zone. It might have been
someone who had dropped a cigarette
end on the road, or maybe it was
someone who had left an envelope with
their address on it at the bottom of
half a ton of fly tipped garbage. (

The stuff I bought in Tesco
included stuff that would be simple to
prepare, such as some rolls, for when
I get home from Petts Wood Calling
today - which could be rather late if
I can stay standing for long enough.
It also included a small, single
portion (or less) quiche, and a little
vegetarian pie (also a small single
portion) that looked like it might be
a lot nicer than it was in reality.
I then had another long rest
where I read my book, and I am sure I
had a snooze. Eventually I forced my
self to do some work. Somehow it was
past 4pm, and that did not give me a
lot of time to get one more photo
album of pictures taken at Chatt Fest
of the band Don't Wake The Lion.
Don't Wake The Lion is really
an accumulation of musicians, often
different, who support Rob Todd -
pictured above. As can be seen, he
likes his theatrics. The mask came
into use after he had a bad allergic
reaction to the face paint he was
using running into his eyes on a very
hot and sweaty day.
When playing without a lead
guitar player, Rob will often climb on
tables or chairs to playing his
screaming and screechy guitar, and it
is now part of his act even when just
singing.
On this occasion there was a
big supporting band - two guitarists,
a bass player, a keyboard singer, and
his co-singer Louisa. On this occasion
he used that famous (in his own
lunchtime) drummer Vince Lighning.
I finally finished the complete
photo album - 19 photos - after I had
watched the BBC 6 O'clock news. I was
able to half watch some Star Trek
after the news, but I was still busy
finishing the photo album, and getting
my camera bag ready for today.

I think it was gone 10pm before
I got to bed. I am not sure I slept
that well. I seem to think it took a
long time to get to sleep, and I did
seem to have a few short periods of
insomnia in the night, although the
longest may have been no more than
half an hour.
It is possible my blood glucose
was high during the evening because I
did seem to drink a lot, although I am
not sure I was actually thirsty, or
just enjoying ice cold water and ice
cold Diet Coke. The latter was because
I finished the previous bottle mid way
through the evening, and I was not
drinking much of it when it was warm.
Regardless of the reason for
it, I drank enough to ensure I would
be waking up for a pee every 1 to 3
hours, although that was not the
actual intention. In fact I am not
sure I passed as much as I drank. The
only thing I can say is that my timing
was fairly good - I woke up for a pee
at around 5am, and while I was up I
turned on the heater. As my room
started to warm up I seemed to enter
even deeper sleep.
I ended up getting up later
than I intended. I had a pee, and
weighed myself. I had seemed to have
put on 300gm. That was not good, but
fortunately, after I had counted out
my drugs and vitamins for the day I
felt the need for another pee, and it
was not a trivial amount. That took my
weight down enough so my recorded
weight for the day is exactly the same
as yesterday. It is a shame I never
had a poo as well !
My blood chemistry seems even
odder this morning, although some of
it may be because I had only made a
tiny pin prick, and had to really
squeeze my finger to get sufficient
blood out to check the glucose level.
The Contour meter had the first taste
of blood, and it said my blood glucose
level was a fantastic 6.7mmol/l. I
never expected to see a reading that
low, but the other two meters made up
for it. The GlucoRX meter read
8.1mmol/l, and the Contour Plus meter
read 8.2mmol/l - both pretty good
readings, but my current target is
7.5mmol/l.
I was slightly delayed this
morning by a series of messages from
Angela who is very worried about
Michael. I explained how Michael is
headed for some sort of breakdown as
he runs himself ragged trying to
supervise everything that happens to
his seriously demented wife. She has
had 4 visits to hospital in the last
week, and he has tried to supervise
each visit, and stay with her there.
He is very sleep deprived, and that is
doing his mental health no good. The
saddest thing is that he knows he is
doing wrong, but he can't help
himself.
My life is going to be very
busy today. very soon now I am going
to have to shave, wash my hair, and
get dressed ready to go out. My
destination s Petts Wood for the Petts
Wood Calling music festival. As can be
seen there will be bands on from 12:30
to at least 10pm - when I think there
is a noise curfew on. I am not sure
how long I will last today. Last
weekend provided some practice, but
even so, I was still giving up not
long after 6pm.
I don't think I will like
them that much, but at 7.45pm there is
BBLB on - The Blues Brothers Little
Brother. They are a Blues Brothers
tribute band. The original film was
good, but there was a lot more to it
than the music. To me, the music is
only enjoyable in small doses. I will
see if I can hold out long enough to
get a few snaps of them, and then go
and find a train home. At least
through all this I have a backstage
pass, and can go and rest when I like
in The Green Room - where there are
also proper toilets !
