The forecast for yesterday was for a lot of either sunny spells or sunshine. There was a small chance of rain in the early afternoon, but I think it stayed dry. The afternoon temperature only rose to 19° C.

Quite a lot of rain is forecast for today, but there may also be some sunny spells between showers. Once again the temperature may peak at 19° C.

I did hardly anything yesterday - again ! I was going to go to Aldi, but ended up only going to Poundstretcher. One problem is that I did not feel all that good, and I am not sure why. I did buy some useful things from Poundstretcher, and that included some things I would have bought from Aldi.

At this point I have to admit that I can't remember all the stuff I was going to write, and although I have timed this for 09:25 BST, I am actually writing this at just gone 5:30pm. The reason was that I somehow managed to mess up the formatting of this page, and the more I tried to correct it, the worse it became. I had to scrap everything, and start again by editing the last page that saved OK.

The significant thing about yesterday was it was another Sunday beer tasting session with Jodie. Prior to that I had to do some tidying up, and clean myself as well. Once clean I could at least go to Poundstretcher. The most significant thing I bought there was two 1.5 litre bottles of Diet Coke. I half expected them to be well past their use by date, but they still had a few months on the clock. I still expected then to not taste right, or to have gone flat, but the one bottle I opened was perfect.

Jodie arrived at about the right time, which was off considering it was the last Sunday of the month, and I knew she would divert to go to the once a month Catford Food Market - now actually held in Lewisham - at least I think it was. I do know that Jodie had been to Lewisham to get some shopping. She almost caught me out by arriving when she did - I though I probably had at least an extra half hour to get ready.

It was not a good drinking session. Jodie was stuck to her phone much of the time, endlessly scrolling though Instagram or something, looking for cat videos. It made for a very lonely existence for me.  My original plan was to pace my drinking by fitting in a lot of chilled water drinking. I did do some of that, but I squeezed in a few extra beers as well, although not enough to get very drunk, and carried away when it came to having dinner.

I needed to, and almost managed to eat carefully at dinner time because in the early afternoon I did have a few bad things - things like very sweet flapjacks.  It was sort of nice when Jodie went home, and I could return to solo mode, amusing myself without having to try and include Jodie. My dinner was actually fairly simple if a Tesco chicken tikka masala ready meal can be called "fairly simple" and possibly not too unhealthy.

My evening was nothing exciting. I watched some TV, but on a Sunday it was not the usual Star Treks etcetera. Much of my viewing was more repeats of The Simpsons. I really can't remember when I went to bed, but I seem to think I fell asleep very quickly. I also think I slept rather well, although I do remember getting up to have several large pees in the night, and also when I finally got up.

A little while after getting up, but before I had breakfast, I managed to have a decent poo, and then I weighed myself. I was happy to see that I had only gained 200gm since the morning before. I expected it to be a lot more - particularly after one rather sweet and sticky beer. Some of the large amounts of pee I passed helped keep my weight down, but suggested that my blood glucose could be running out of control.

When I checked my blood glucose it was a bit high, but not terribly so. It was very close to being acceptable. The Contour meter read 8.8mmol/l. Actually, that is too close to 9.0mmol/l where bad things can start to happen (although the official red line is 10.0mmol/l. The GlucoRX meter also read 8.8mmol/l. Now we have started September my "official" third meter is the GlucoFix meter. It read 8.4mmol/l - a little bit better.

I still didn't feel very good this morning. Before I could do anything I had to finish washing a pair of shorts, and a pair of lounge pants that were soaking in detergent in a big bucket in the bath this morning. It took some time before I could bring myself to tackle that job, but I did it in the end. With that done I could have a shower, and finally go shopping in Aldi, but I couldn't find the enthusiasm to do that this time either.

I decided that I would have another very lazy day....or more accurately I didn't exactly decide that - my body seemed to decide for me. The flaw in that idea is that I couldn't seem to relax as much as I hope, and that hope was mainly to have some nice snoozes. At some point I wondered if the reason I was feeling so rough was that I was heading for something like 'flu. It was at this point that I crashed, and ruined the early version of this page by copying a temperature from my spreadsheet of my body temperature readings. I wanted to say my temperature was only 36.2° C, and then everything went mad ! This time I remembered to "paste without formatting", and it worked with no disaster.

I don't seem to feel so bad today, and I seem to feel a bit better when writing this rather later version of this page. There is more I could write about today, but I think I'll stick to tradition and write about it tomorrow morning. Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow, and will feel extra keen to finally go shopping in Aldi (fingers crossed).
