Yesterday morning was dull, and the afternoon was too. From late afternoon there were supposed to be sunny spells, and there were, but not many, and not enough to dry some washing I hung on the washing line. The afternoon temperature may possibly been slightly higher than the forecast 19° C, but only by a degree or two at best.
sunshine predicted
It has gone midday as I write these words, and there have only been a couple of short sunny spells. That last one lasted about 45 seconds ! At the moment the cloud cover is still close to complete. As usual, the bit of the forecast that seems correct is the temperature. It is close to 20° C, and may rise a degree or two if there is more sunshine later. Tomorrow may see the return of thicker, darker clouds in the morning, but maybe there will be some sunny spells late in the afternoon.

As I write this, much later in the day than usual, I am nursing a terrible hangover, and in consequences my writing is likely to be a lot worse than normal. You can expect to see bad spelling, bad grammar, and the odd missing word....but such is life ! As I mentioned when writing about yesterday's weather, I did some laundry yesterday, and hung it on the line to dry. I really more sunshine to get dry, and it was still obviously damp when I brought it is to dry indoors.

In the Afternoon I had the Thursday drinking session with Jodie, but Michael didn't drop in. He is off on a few days holiday today, and wanted to prepare for it yesterday afternoon. Jodie and I seemed to get through more beers than usual, and topped it off with a couple of shot glasses of spirits. One of them was a rather nice raspberry flavoured vodka. That wasn't the cause of my hangover. That came later in the evening.

My dinner last night was sort of interesting. It was ostrich burgers followed by some souther fried flavoured chicken steaks. I couldn't be bothered to prepare anything to go with them. The good thing is it was all very low in sugars. That would have a beneficial effect this morning. As usual, I watched a bit of TV during and after dinner, but it didn't really grab my attention. I then made a silly, but mostly enjoyable error by phoning Sue.

Our conversation went on until it was light ! I missed a whole nights sleep, and I think I sort of stayed awake by drinking more whisky - quite a bit of it judging by my hangover, although some of it is probably just lack of sleep.  I can't really remember what we talked about for most of the night, but I do remember the end. We had a disagreement over whether wearing a mask exemption card made you a target for muggers. Sue said yes, and I said no. I suppose if you staple the card to your forehead it might attract attention, but most people seem to have then on a lanyard, and unless needed to be visible it can be tucked behind a coat or something.

Despite all the beer, and some cheese and rice crackers around lunchtime, my blood glucose was down to 7.6mmol/l, or just 0.1 above my ideal target of 7.5mmol/l. That is about the only good thing health wise this morning. My hangover is slowly fading, but I still feel pretty rough. I also seem to be spending a lot of time rushing to the toilet..... Oh, and my possibly pulled calf muscle is still a bit tender this morning. Oh well, time to see if I can get in a few hours sleep before hopefully feeling well enough to go to a gig tonight. At the moment I couldn't face it, but I hope I can find the strength, etc, this evening.
