After a sunny start, yesterday turned out just as wet as predicted. There was some light rain at midday, and after a 20 or 30 dry minute the rain returned as heavy rain. I think most of the rain was just drizzle, with more short periods of heavy rain every now and then. The afternoon temperature seemed quite warm, and humid, but the thermometers said 22 or maybe 23° C. Yesterday was one of those days that was both good and bad. The bad was mainly eating quite unwisely in the early evening as a result of booze. I was also very lazy, and did go for a shower until just after 11am despite doing nothing more than laying on my bed reading and snoozing for an hour beforehand. All I did yesterday, plus what I dreamed last night, and my thoughts and plans for today are described in my complete archived page for today. |

All the rain forecast for yesterday fell before 1pm, or thereabouts. The afternoon was often bright with quite a lot of sunny spells. At about 6pm most of the sky seemed to be blue. There was a bit of heavy-ish rain in the morning, and a moderate shower at about 1pm. The temperature later in the afternoon, perhaps aided by the sunny spells, may have gone a degree or two higher than the forecast 22° C. It would have been more exciting to go out to Chattfest yesterday, but that has been postponed to August on the assumption that the weather will be better then - I have my doubts. I still managed to do a couple of useful things during the day, and I don't think I was ever bored, although from time to time I expected to be. What I did, and the pictures to prove it (sort of) is described in my complete archived page for today which also describes my night and this morning. |

The weather was very variable yesterday. There were long periods when it got very dark outside, but contrary to at least the earlier versions of the weather forecasts, there were quite a few times when itw as bright and even some sunny spells in the afternoon. Once again it seemed to be a bit warmer than expected. The forecast said a max of 22° C, but I feel sure the temperature reached 24° C. Once again I am writing the start of this the evening before the morning of the publish date. This time I shall ignore trying to mangle the past, present and future tenses, and write it as if I were writing it in the morning as I used to do, but maybe not any more. Yesterday was a a good bad and indifferent day. I was mostly resting in preparation for a long day today. The full description of yesterday, last night, and the start of this morning can be read in my archived page for today. |

Yesterday seemed warmer than expected. The afternoon temperature seemed to rise to around 24° C. The morning started off dull, and there was some very light rain around midday - earlier than forecast. Contrary to expectations, the afternoon was brighter than forecast, and there were even some sunny spells well before those expected to start at around 7pm. Apart from the before midday, it could be called a fairly nice day - weather wise. Today's diary, or blog, or whatever, is a bit different to usual, although it may set a precedent. Half of it was written yesterday, and half of it was written, like all previous days, on the morning of the date at the top of the page (Friday 28th July 2023 on this occasion). I really didn't think it through properly when I started writing last night, and ended up really mangling my tenses. I hope it ultimately makes some sort of sense, and you can read the full page for today here. With a couple of busy days coming up, it is probable that I will also split my writing in two, but with some practice I might get my tenses, past present, future, and some I've never heard of, or believe in, correct in the future (or maybe the past). |

Yesterday morning was generally bright with some sunshine or sunny spells. The afternoon was supposed to be dull, but the sunny spells continued until 3 or 4pm. There was rain in the early evening, and it continued through the night until the early hours of this morning. The afternoon temperature reached a fair 22° C. Most of yesterday was good, but it ended with a minor disaster - which is better than the major disaster I thought it would be ! I even did a little work yesterday, but most of the day was pleasure. Even shaving, shampooing and showering was a sort of pleasure, or at least the finished product made me feel good. I took just one photo when out. This can be seen along with a description of it, the rest of my day, night and even this morning, in my complete archived page for today. |

The weather seemed so bland yesterday that it is hard to remember much about it. I remember dull and bright periods, but I can't put times on either. It was definitely dry, and the temperature was not quite warm, and not quite cool. The weather forecast said the afternoon would be 20° C, and that was probably right. Yesterday was one of those days when I achieved very little. I seemed to have little inspiration, and little energy, although the latter is really an unknown because I didn't do anything to tax myself, and so be able to judge my energy levels. I did eventually find a possible reason for this, and I'll mention it a bit later. I've padded out what I have written today with more pictures from the Fun, Food and Folk day in Ladywell Fields, but I have also written quite a surprising amount for a day when little happened. It's all in my complete archived page for today, and it included about my night and dreams, plus thoughts and plans this morning. |

The weather forecast for yesterday may have slightly exaggerated the amount of rain for yesterday morning, although later revisions came closer to reality. The rain was generally light rain, and fell around midday. The thunderstorm the BBC predicted in the 6am version of their forecast turned out to be nothing but fantasy. Everybody got it right when they said it would be a dull day, but it did brighten up in the evening. The maximum temperature was forecast to be just 18° C, but I think it probably got a bit higher than that - maybe around 20° C. Before finishing with the weather it is interesting to see the (hopefully) complete fantasy forecast for the start of August. I took this screenshot last night, and only bothered with the headlines and not any detail. If it come true it could be the worst August on record - probably ! I seem to be off to a very late start this morning. I was up a bit late, but still before 7am, and I don't know where the time has got to. It was my original intention to be finishing this writing about now, and shopping in Aldi 60 to 90 minutes later, but it looks like it might be closer to lunchtime when I get there. Hey ho..... The full description of yesterday, complete with a lot of photos, plus my night and how I am going to end up going to Aldi this afternoon instead of several hours before I finish writing this, can be read in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday's weather turned out to be nothing like either weather forecaster I watch. The morning was a bit dull, as forecast, but by 10am the clouds started to break up, small blue patches of sky could be seen, and there were some sunny spells. By 1pm, and for the rest of the day, it was like a proper summers day with loads of sunshine, and the temperature rising to 24° C - just 18° C was forecast, and that for just a couple of hours. The evening seemed a lot milder too. Yesterday was a good, but very tiring day. It initially seemed like it could be a real drudge of a day, but that was based on the weather forecast promising a dull and wet day. As I explained at the top of the page, by midday day it was rapidly turning in a sunny summer's day. My whole day, the evening, and some of my night plus this morning, is more fully described, in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday it was wet and gloomy for most of the day. The rain started sometime around midday, and finished at about 3am this morning. It was the BBC forecast that described it more accurately than The Met Office. The BBC predicted mostly light rain, and it was indeed mostly light rain with a few short heavy bursts of rain, but sometimes it was little more than some light drizzle. The Met Office gave an alarming forecast of non stop heavy rain, and thankfully they were wrong. It was a very cool day for July with the temperature only reaching 18° C at around midday, and then falling to as low as 16° C for most of the afternoon. I didn't think I would ever go out yesterday, and yet I did go out in the early afternoon - but not for long. The morning was just dull and depressing, and yet if I avoided looking outside I felt reasonably content. I think I passed much of the morning just reading and snoozing. Where I went, and how I survived the rest of the very dull and wet day, how I slept, and what I hope to do today is all revealed in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday morning was generally bright with plenty of sunny spells. That all changed a little before midday when dark clouds swept acrosss the sky. Some of those clouds looked a dark blue colour, and I began to think there could even be a thunderstorm, but it actually stayed dry despite being so dark that I had to turn on the lights to read, and to go down the stairs safely. The sky did start to clear later in the evening, and I think we had a few sunny spells before the suns set. The afternoon temperature rose to 20° C, and seemed quite low for July. I really hate this not-really-like-summer weather. It ruined a potentially good day yesterday. During the morning I was slowly building up to going out around midday, and maybe taking a walk along the River Thames - possibly from Rotherhithe to Greenwich. That never happened, and why is described in my complete archived page for today. It includes some stuff about dreams and thoughts this morning. |

I think the BBC's weather forecast came closer to reality than the Met Office forecasts. I do recall there was a period of time in the early evening when it clouded over enough to make it seem very dull, but more of the day featured sunny spells. Some seemed to last almost long enough to be described as sunshine. It was not as hot as expected for July, but at least another days at 22° C felt OK. Today's weather forecast is a lot like yesterday's forecast that turned out to be incorrect. The first error according to my measurements is that it is a couple of degrees warmer than the forecast. The latest revision to the forecast shows sunshine for 9am, and then sunny spells for 11am and midday. After that it could be just dull with a 50% chance of a shower at 10pm. The highest temperature could be 20° C. Instead of being better, the BBC forecast is worse. They do throw in a few more sunny spells, but they show a 33% chance of rain for 2pm, 6pm and 7pm. Tomorrow may, or may not start with some sunny spells (depending on whose forecast you believe), but most of the day will be dull, and from early afternoon it could rain. The chance then may be just 29%, but by early evening that will have shot up to 70% (BBC) or 80% (Met Office). Tomorrows temperature could be as low as just 18 or 19° C. It's like it is still April ! A few useful things happened yesterday, but overall it was quite a boring day. I should have gone out for a bit of exercise, but I didn't feel well. It was like some of my very familiar aches and pains all wanted to ache at the same time, and stepped themselves up a notch. None were strong pains, and indeed most of the time most were very weak, but when there are few distractions they seem worse. It is the cumulative effect that brings you down, and sets up a sort of positive feedback - the more you become aware of them the worse they seem. It is all described in further details, which does include a few fgood things, along with my dreams and thoughts this morning in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday started off with wet roads, but I can't recall any more rain after that (although I would concede that I could have missed a very fine sprinkle of rain). By midday, and maybe earlier, sunny spells started up. Most of the afternoon was bright and cheery. I didn't double check it, but the forecast figure of 22° C seemed about right. The BBC seems more consistent in it's forecast for today. They say there will be sunny spells all day until early evening. There could be a light shower at 9pm. They predict a high of 22° C for just a brief period this afternoon. Back to the Met Office whose forecast is usually use, even if sometimes it is a bit pessimistic.... They say the sunny spells will finish after 11am, and apart from one sunny spell at 5pm, the afternoon will be dull. They think there will be a single shower at 8pm, and that the afternoon temperature will be 22° C - the same as the BBC. Apart from no evening rain, the forecasts for tomorrow are approximately the same as for today - from each forecaster. One difference is that both say it will be one degree cooler than today. Before finishing with the weather it is "interesting" to see what is forecast for Sunday. It is this coming Sunday, the 23rd July, that there is to a be a "food, folk, 'n' fun in the fields" day in my local park. Fortunately there is plenty of time for the weather forecast to change because it currently says it will be a wash out ! Yesterday was, on the whole, a good day, but later in the day it did become guilt laden ! The first highlight of the day was going for a Wednesday lunchtime drink in the pub. Apart from keeping an eye out for the postman because I am expecting maybe two small packets to be delivered some time, I did very little apart from washing my hair and having a shower during the morning. There is a very full description of my day, with pictures, in my complete archived page for today. It also includes a brief description of my night and the start of this morning. |

Yesterday was dry, sometimes dull, and sometimes there were sunny spells. It was all a bit too random to remember what happened and when. The afternoon temperature was 22° C again. Once again pleasant but slightly disappointing. Today seems to be one of those days when details of the expected weather change once an hour when the forecast is revised. What I do know is that when I opened the curtains, maybe a bit before 8am, the road outside was wet after some sort of shower. Right now the sky is very cloudy, but there are gaps in the cloud, and as I write this the sun is shining. The latest revision to the forecast shows light rain at 1pm, heavy rain at 3pm, and back to light rain at 4pm, plus sunny spells for 2pm, full sunshine for 5pm, and then more sunny spells for 6 and 7pm. Of course these predictions are just fantasy, and reality is more than likely to be very different. Of course the BBC give a very different forecast - sunny spells from 1pm to 6pm, and then a single hour of light rain at 7pm. The one thing that is usually right is the temperature. The Met Office say 22° C, and the BBC say 23° C. Tomorrow should be bright, although mostly just sunny spells, and the temperature may be 23° C. Yesterday involved a lot of waiting, even for things I didn't know I would be waiting for, and not much else. It was a very unproductive day. The good thing was that the first wait was to get first notification of a delivery slot for the delivery of a case of 12 bottles of hot Caribbean pepper sauce. They came on time, but there was further waiting to do. That is all explained along with a description of the rest of my day, night and this morning in my complete archived page for today. |

The forecasts almost got the weather right yesterday. The three hours featuring rain seemed to be condensed down to a single hour in reality, but it did contain both light rain and some quite heavy rain. There was no thunderstorm, but that threat had gone in later revisions of the forecast. The afternoon, like the start of the morning, was nice and bright with a lot of sunny spells. I think the temperature reached 22° C, pleasant, but still a bit disappointing. Even the BBC weather forecast, which tends to be more generous with sunny spells (or heavy rain and thunderstorms !) admit that today is likely to be a bit dull a lot of the time. It seems the best we can hope for is a few sunny spells during the morning, and maybe as little as one sunny spell in the early evening. The middle of the day seems to be definitely dull, but dry. I hope later revisions of the forecast, or even reality itself, ends up being brighter. The highest temperature today will probably be 22° C. Tomorrow could start very dull, but still dry, and with some sunny spells later in the day. On the other hand, The BBC forecast has thrown in a thunderstorm at 4pm ! Once again the temperature tomorrow will probably peak at 22° C, although maybe 23° C might be possible. Yesterday was dominated by waiting in for a delivery from Amazon. This time their website didn't budge from just saying "before 9pm" rather than give any useful information. Other couriers let you track their vans, and suggest an hour slot when delivery is most likely - and as far as I can remember, none have ever slipped outside that hour, although some have come close to it, but even then, I think they have arrived earlier instead of later. All that I can remember happening yesterday, last night, my dreams, and the start of this morning is recorded in my complete archive page for today. |

Yesterday was far better than expected from the worst of the weather forecasts for the day. I can't recall more than an extremely light, and extremely brief shower in the early afternoon. All I noticed was a few rain drops on a window that soon dried. The raod outside looked perfectly dry, and if I hadn't seen those raindrops on the window I would have said the day was perfectly dry. It was also sunnier then expected. Mostly it was just sunny spells, but there were some quite long spells. The temperature was pleasant at just 20° C, but warmer would be more in keeping for mid July. Once again rain is predicted for Yesterday was another moderately busy day. After an unusually early shower I got dressed ready for a short but long foray into the outside world. My principle target was to get some shopping from Tesco, but I went the long way around to take a picture of the notice board outside The Catford Bridge Tavern. The notice was about a new open mic session happening there last night. There are a few pictures from the open mic session, and descriptions about the rest of my day, my night and dreams, and stuff done this morning, in my complete archived page for today. |

Much of yesterday was warm, bright and sunny, but there were a few light showers, and not when expected. On the other hand some of the dire warnings of heavy rain, and even a thunderstorm came to nothing. I think that was when the sun was brightest, the sky bluest, and the world looked good. I don't think the temperature went above the forecast 20° C. The screenshot above was taken before 6am, and predictably enough, it has been revised. The main change is that now only light rain is forecast for 1pm, but 2pm is still shown as very overcast, and 3pm remains as light rain. An additional light shower is now shown for 8pm. I am certain that even these things will change in further revisions. Maybe the Met Office's forecast will morph into the BBC's forecast that shows sunny spells for all but one hour during daylight hours, and that is still shown as dry. The highest temperature today will be around 20° C, and while that is warm, it seems too low for mid July. Tomorrow is currently looking like it could be very similar to today, but the temperature may hit 22° C. Yesterday was definitely a good day. The day started in quite a mundane manner - just doing the usual things until the afternoon got near. I read some stuff on the internet, and I had a very short snooze....at least I think it was short, but I have no recollection of when it might have started or finished. Read all about my day, evening, night, and this morning, and look at the pictures from the afternoon, in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday was dull, wet and miserable, although maybe not quite as wet as forecast. There were periods when it didn't seem to be raining, but maybe it was just very fine drizzle that is hard to see from indoors. In fact I am not sure if there was much in the way of the heavy rain shown in the forecast, but maybe the forecast just likes to frighten us, and has no way of showing medium rain ! It was definitely a cool day, and the grey daylight made it seem colder than the actual 19° C. Are we absolutely sure it is not April, with it's famous showers ? More rain is forecast for today. The thunderstorm shown for 1pm has gone from the latest revision to the forecast. It is now shown as heavy rain, and all the other hours shown with rain in the screenshot above have all changed to sunny spells - unless you look at the BBC forecast that still shows showers all the way through to 4pm, and one thunderstorm at midday (but the BBC love to forecast thunderstorms that rarely happen). From 2pm there could be lots of pleasant sunny spells, and even some full sunshine in the late afternoon/early evening. The afternoon temperature should reach 20° C. Tomorrow could be mostly dull with maybe a light shower or two. The temperature should be about the same as today. Yesterday I almost rested, but I did do a few important things. I did rest between those things, and I probably had a snooze or two, but I can't seem to recall any particular time when I can say I definitely had a snooze. One thing I am sure about is that I didn't get up - as in washing and dressing ! All I did do, and stuff about the rest of my day, night, and the start of this morning can be read in my complete archived page for today. |

Once again the weather forecast didn't predict what the day would be like, although I suppose it got the flavour about right. Very little of the forecast rain fell around the middle of the day, and there was a fair bit of generally light rain in the early evening when none was forecast. The sun put in the occasional appearance, and maybe sometimes that was when it was forecast for. The afternoon temperature reached a rather humid feeling 22° C. It should be raining heavily as I write this, but the first rain has yet to fall (although a few damp patches suggest there was a shower sometime in the early hours. Both the BBC and Met Office agree that rain is going to fall for most of today, and that some it is is going to be very heavy. At the moment the sky is moderately bright and the forecast think black clouds have yet to materialise. I guess it can't be long before the deluge starts ! Not only is it going to get very wet, it is also going to be cold as judged by how July should be. Just 19° C is forecast for early evening, although the consensus of my outdoor thermometers says it is almost 21° C as I write this - the forecast says just 16° C. The main feature tomorrow is some very gusty wind in the afternoon. From late morning to early afternoon there could be some light rain, but before and after there could be sunny spells. Tomorrow temperature could reach 19 or 20° C. Yesterday was moderately pleasant, and some bit were very pleasant. On the other hand, I was stuck doing a lot of photo editing, and that was rather tedious at times. One problem was the setting, and the other was that few people in the pictures were very dynamic. All this is explained in fuller detail along with some sample photos, and the rest of the stuff I did yesterday, how I slept, and this mornings bad news, in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday's weather was obviously not forecastable ! (Possibly a new word I just invented) Both the BBC and The Met Office kept insisting there could be heavy rain, and both, albeit at different times, for different times, said there would be thunderstorms. The early morning version of the Met Office forecast, the one I showed yesterday, came closest, but I don't think a single drop of rain fell, and the evening, a time of particular significance to me because I went out last night, was not overcast, thunder storming, pouring with heavy rain, but in fact the sky was almost cloudless, and apart from cooling more than expected (although apparently as forecast) it was a very pleasant evening. The afternoon temperature reached the forecast 20° C, but the humidity seemed to make it feel warmer. Today is another day when I don't think the forecast can be relied on. It has already changed a lot. The Met Office has changed 11am to full sunshine, and 1 and 2pm to dark grey clouds with light rain. The BBC were originally showing another of their favourites, a thunderbolt, around midday, but now they just show light rain or drizzle for the start of the afternoon. It is looking likely that the start of the afternoon could get wet to some degree or another, and late afternoon and the evening will be bright with at least sunny spells. The temperature should reach 21° C today with the possibility of some of a single hour reaching 22° C. Tomorrow is currently forecast by both the BBC and Met office to be grey and wet. I knew exactly what I wanted to do yesterday, but the chances of it happening seemed quite slim until a couple of hours before the event. More about that later. For most of the day I did very little, but I did do one thing that was quite important in the morning. In fact it turned out to be more important than I realised ! What that job was, why it was very unpleasant, and other stuff I did, including going out in the evening, plus coming home, going to bed, and the first events of this morning, can all be read in my complete archived page for today. |

Rain was predicted for yesterday, and in some revisions of the forecast it was shown as heavy rain, and in later revisions as just light rain. In fact it did rain mid afternoon, but it was so light that I was happy to go into the garden with no short on. Much of the day was dull, but there were a few sunny spells early in the morning. The afternoon peaked at just 20° C. With no wind that felt fine, but there were some very strong gusts of winds yesterday, and they felt cold. Today is one of those days where the weather forecasts elicit very little trust. The forecast says it should be dull and cold right now, but it seems to be sunny, and the temperature by my outside thermometers is 20° C, although admittedly one of them says just 21.8° C ! The latest revision says 9 and 10am will feature sunny spells, but still says it should only be 17° C. The great unknown is when, or if it will rain later, and how heavy it might be if it does rain. The latest revision says it will rain at 3pm, and there will be hail at 7pm. The rest of the day will be dry. I expect that will change a lot through the day. Meanwhile, The BBC weather forecast keeps saying it will rain between 2pm and 7pm, and that the last hours could feature thunder an lightning ! Both forecasters say the highest temperature will be just 20° C today. Both forecasters say tomorrow could be 21 or 22° C, and that there will be some rain, but maybe not much, or maybe everything will change by tomorrow. I definitely wasn't lazy for the first half of yesterday, but I will admit the afternoon did involve a lot of relaxing. During the course of the morning I went shopping in three different shops, but I did two of them one after the other. My first shopping outing was to go to Tesco. All I did yesterday, and some of what I bought on my two shopping trips, plus how I slept, and my thoughts this morning can all be read in my complete archived page for today, and it includes a couple of pictures. |

Yesterday seemed warm enough to leave a few windows open. The afternoon temperature reached 23° C.It was quite windy, but the wind seemed to feel warm rather than cooling. Sometimes the sky got quite cloudy, but only white clouds, and I think there seemed to be more sunshine that was forecast. Today we return to a string of rainy days, although it's not looking like today will really be a rainy day. The BBC forecast said the rain would be only this morning, but it is currently dry. The Met Office only shows rain for mid afternoon, but in the latest revision that is downgraded to just 2 hours of light rain. I suspect there could be more sunshine today than forecast, and indeed the BBC forecast does show sunny spells for much of the day. The temperature will peak at 22° C around midday, and the rest of the afternoon may only be 20° C. Both forecasters make a similar forecast for tomorrow: Sunny spells in the morning, and remaining fairly bright in the afternoon, but there will probably be showers from mid afternoon until early evening. The highest temperature may be around midday again, and it is currently predicted to be just 21° C. Yesterday was a day when so little happened I can almost describe it in this one paragraph. It was a day when I didn't really do anything noteworthy. I just pottered around now and then, and filled in the long gaps by reading both from book or online. I can't seem to remember if I had a snooze at any time, but I probably had one or two. The full story of yesterday, last night, and this morning, can be read in my complete archived page for today. |

Heavy rain was originally forecast for yesterday morning. It didn't rain ! At least I can't remember any, although it did get quite gloomy outside. From late morning it brightened up, and the afternoon seemed to feature more sunny spells than forecast. The afternoon temperature may have just slightly exceeded 22° C. Today, the first day of the week, could be the last day this week to feature pleasant weather. As usual, the BBC have gone more extreme than the Met Office. They predict sunny spells for every daylight hour today, but The Met Office only show a scattering of sunny spells through the day. For all their sunshine the BBC only predict 22° C today, but The Met Office think it should reach 23° C. Tomorrow sees the start of either miserable dull days, or miserable dull days with a lot of rain. The BBC, who provide the forecast furthest into the future shows rain or drizzle for almost every day until the 23rd July with one exception that might be the 18th July. Tomorrow is shows as having rain almost all day by the BBC, or mainly just in the morning by The Met Office. Both agree the maximum temperature will be 20° C. Yesterday could be called a very quiet day - except for a few hours in the afternoon, and even that had some very dull moments. Apart from a little tidying up, in preparation for the afternoon, I did practically nothing in the morning, and the first few hours of the afternoon. I don't know how, but it actually seemed pleasant and relaxing for a change. The full version of this includes stuff about what happened during the beer session, now I slept last night, and some vague details about a dream, plus my thoughts this morning, and it can be read in my complete archived page for today. |

There was no thunderstorms yesterday despite the forecasts warning of one or more at some undefined time. It was certainly hot and humid, and the conditions seemed right for a thunderstorm, but the rain was just not heavy enough. There was rain in the afternoon, as forecast, and there was quite a bit of rain mid evening, which was not forecast. The evening was supposed to feature sunny spells and even sunshine. The afternoon temperature was about 26° C. It is looking like it might rain soon, but there has been no rain so far this morning. The latest revision to the forecast just says light rain at 10am and 1pm. There could be random sunny spells in the afternoon, and the temperature should reach 22° C. Meanwhile, the BBC tells a slightly different tale of light rain from 10am to 1pm, and sunny spells and even strong sunshine later in the afternoon, but only 21° C expected this afternoon. Tomorrow should start off nice and bright, but cloudy spells may dominate much of the rest of the day. 23° C is the highest expected temperature. I'm not sure how doing what you mostly like doing can be a bore, but yesterday was a bit boring. It mainly involved photo editing, but I also did some eating, and in the evening I watched some moderately good TV instead of going out. Not going out was a mix of feeling a bit tired, and because it was raining. I also had a big dinner, and that made feeling tired even worse. That is a simplified description of yesterday, but the full description, including more pictures, can be read in my completer archived page for today, which also includes a few words about dreams, and thoughts this morning. |

After so many cool or cooler days it was refreshing that yesterday was a hot day. The sun was out nearly all day, and the temperature rose to at least 28° C, and possibly almost touched 30° C. It is nice and bright right now, but the sky is already rather cloudy. According to The Met Office we can expect light rain for a couple of hours from 1pm. The BBC say the rain could start as early as 11am, and from 1pm there could be thunder and lightning for a few hours. Both forecasters agree that sunny spells, and maybe even full sunshine should resume from later afternoon/early evening. The Met Office say it should reach 26° C for a while this afternoon, the BBC say only 24° C. Tomorrow could be bright and wet, and rather cooler at just 22° C. My big, and possibly unlikely plan for yesterday came to a good conclusion. That was all in the evening. The day was slightly boring because I was saving it all up for the evening. One thing I did do was to finally finish washing the new double fitted bed sheet. I had it on the line to dry around midday (or was it earlier), and it was still dripping because I was relying on the hot sunshine to dry it. By 4pm it was hot and fully dry. The rest of my day, evening (with pictures), night and the start of this morning are described in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday was generally bright with lots of sunny spells. The day started off almost chilly, and it seemed to take until early afternoon before it warmed up, and peaked at 22° C. I took the screenshot above before 7am, and so it seemed prudent to check nothing serious has changed in the intervening hours. I am happy to say that apart from 10am now being shown as just sunny spells, the rest of the forecast hasn't changed at all. Today should be bright and sunny, and by mid afternoon the temperature should reach 28° C. Tomorrow should reach 25° C. It should start sunny and end sunny, but the middle of the day could see rain, and some of it might be heavy rain. The BBC is in a pessimistic mood about tomorrow, and has added lightning bolts to it's early afternoon rain ! I seemed to be in a very lazy mood yesterday. I got as far as washing my hair, and having a shower, put a brand new double fitted sheet in soak for it's first ever wash, and than did nothing ! I ended up laying on my bed, initially reading, and then ending up having a snooze. Other did eventually happen, and my whole day, night, and the start of this morning is described in my complete archived page for today. |

There was less rain than forecast for yesterday, but there was still rain ! The morning started with a couple of hours of sunny spells, but it wasn't long before it completely clouded over. Rain was forecast to start from as early as 11am, but the first I was aware of was about 1.30pm, and it only lasted about half an hour. I think there was probably some very light rain a bit later in the afternoon. It was very late, maybe around 8pm when the sun finally broke through the clouds. The afternoon temperature reached about 20° C. I suspect that today is one of those days that is hard to forecast. There should be sunny spells today, but their length and timing is hard to say. The one thing that may be correct is that the sunny spells probably won't be when shown in the screenshot above. Having said that, I do note that the latest revision to the forecast has not changed anything. This afternoon should see 22° C. Of course the BBC has a slightly different idea about the weather. They currently say only midday to 2pm will be without sunshine, and they also say it will be a degree cooler at 21° C. Tomorrow may feature non stop sunshine, and the temperature should reach 27, or even 28° C. Yesterday was one of those days, or even another day, that was both good and bad. I can't seem to decide whether the good or bad was more significant. This is probably because the bad was not too bad, and the good was not all that good. Enough of these riddles, and time to describe which is what, what is which, or something like that. To find out what I am babbling on about you'll have to read my complete archived page for today, which includes stuff about my night and this morning. |

Yesterday definitely ended up very wet, but the forecast for rain in the morning came to nothing. I was trying to ignore what was happening outside during the afternoon because it looked so dull outside. I think it was possibly around 4pm, and may have been even later before the serious rain started. From then on it rained through the evening, and half of the start of this morning. As well as being very dull, and even double extremely dull later in the afternoon, it was also quite cool. The forecast said a maximum of 16° C, and I can't really argue with that ! There was some sunshine until a little while ago, but now it is getting a bit dull as it gears up to start raining. Both the BBC and Met Office, who had very divergent views a couple of hours ago, both agree it will start to rain at midday, and some of the rain could be quite heavy. The last rain could be around 3pm, and after that it should brighten up with sunny spells until sunset. The temperature could reach 19° C (BBC) or 20° C (Met Office). Tomorrow could be bright with sunny spells and even full hours of sunshine. It may also be a degree or two warmer. In terms of the weather, yesterday was a rotten day, although the morning was dull but tolerable. I took a chance on the rain, and went shopping in Aldi. It often looked threatening, but the first rain was hours after I got home - maybe 4 or 5 hours ! I have a lot more to say about shopping, and the rest of my day, a long series of dreams at night, and some plans for today described in my complete archived page for today. |

It was cold and bright yesterday morning, but as the day wore on, and the temperature rose, the clouds got thicker. Eventually there was some rain. Not quite the rain forecast, but more like 5 minutes of rain so light that the only way to see it was as a a scattering of drops on the window. It did slightly brighten up after that, but I am not sure if I remember the sun ever breaking through. The afternoon temperature reached about 19° C. It then dropped to 18° C before rising again to 20° C for a few hours. I didn't see any rain at 7am, and I reckon the temperature was closer to 15° C. The latest revision to the forecast shows light rain at 9 and 10am, but it looks pretty certain that the real rain will fall this afternoon. This is agreed by both the Met Office and The BBC, although the BBC say that there could be a lot of thunder and lightning this afternoon. Thunder or not, it is looking like a pretty grim afternoon, and it will continue through the night to 2am tomorrow morning. It is going to be a cool day with both forecasters agreeing on a high of just 17° C. Tomorrow could see a mix of a few isolated showers between sunny spells, and an afternoon temperature of 20° C. I think this time I can describe yesterday as a good day. The day got off to a bad start with a couple of very productive visits to the toilet. It was a sort of act of faith that no more would happen, and it would be safe to go out, and indeed I did go out. I did have some fantasies about going a lot further than I did, but it was soon obvious that I didn't have the stamina for that. Where I went, and what pictures I took, and what I did for the rest of the day, last night and also my notes about this morning, are all described in my complete archived page for today. |

For once the weather forecast for yesterday was about right. There was sunshine followed by sunny spells in the morning, a light grey afternoon, and then some sunny spells until sunset. It stayed dry, and the temperature peaked at about 21° C. It felt cold this morning. If it wasn't supposed to be summer I might have put some heating on for my last hours in bed, and until I had a hot breakfast. The forecast of 14° C at 7am may have been a degree too low, but was probably right for 5 or 6am. It will take until almost early evening before today's temperature peaks at 20° C. It started sunny this morning, and although some hours may only have sunny spells, the last sunshine this morning may be at 10am. The rest of the morning, and most of the afternoon is (probably) going to be in various shades of grey. Light rain could fall at 3 and 4pm, After that the sun may come out again for a few hours, followed by sunny spells until sunset. Tomorrow morning could be very wet, and also rather cold again. It may brighten up from 2pm, and the temperature should climb to 20° C. Yesterday was not a good day in a general sense, but it had it's moments. I could not raise the enthusiasm to go for a walk. I can't really describe how or why, but I didn't think I would enjoy a walk, and mainly because I didn't think I had the energy, plus I thought my legs, knees, and ankles might complain. I did end doing a very short walk, and it sort of confirmed my stiff leg theory. That, and the rest of my day, night, and the start of this morning is described, with a couple of pictures, in my complete archived page for today. |

After a damp start, yesterday brightened up, and as later revisions to the forecast said, there were a lot more sunny spells in the afternoon than originally forecast. With hindsight, it was quite a nice day. The maximum temperature was forecast to be just 22° C, and I don't think it went any higher. Today is going to be a bit odd. This morning is nice and bright, and the evening is forecast to be nice and bright, but the latest revision shows light cloud with no sunny spells between midday and 5pm. The temperature may peak at only 21° C. The BBC weather forecast is, typically, more optimistic with sunny spells shown for the whole day, but they agree on 21° C being today's maximum temperature. Tomorrow is currently forecast to follow the same pattern as today, but the maximum temperature could be down to just 20° C. Yesterday was another day when possible plans almost came to nothing. One plan that did come to fruition was to eat carefully, and this morning I reaped the rewards for that (and maybe gained some mild constipation). Other than that, I did very little. That doesn't mean I haven't found lots to say about yesterday. It is all written in my complete archived page for today, and it includes the usual nots about last night and the start of this morning. |

Yesterday was annoying ! It didn't rain when it was supposed to, and I changed my plans because it was supposed to rain. The day started off semi bright, but the clouds soon became thick enough to make it a bit dull outside. Until possibly midday the forecasts (both The Met Office and BBC) said there would be no evening rain apart from a brief splash. Suddenly the BBC added hours of drizzle, and The met Office added several hours of light rain, and even one of heavy rain. As far as I am aware it stayed dry all evening, although there did seem to be a bit of rain in the small hours of this morning, but little more than just some drizzle - as far as I can tell. It was generally a cooler day than recently with a temperature of just 18° C. It looked damp when I peeped out the window early this morning, but I don't there has been even a hint of rain since then. At the moment the cloud cover is 99.9%, but it still seems semi-bright outside. The latest forecasts say it should brighten up more after midday, and there is a chance of a random scattering of sunny spells this afternoon. The afternoon temperature should be 22° C. Tomorrow is looking like it should be a lot brighter with some hours of full sunshine and many hours of sunny spells. The temperature is probably going to be like today. Sometimes plans do not work or, or even happen as intended. Today has started with a failed plan, but back to yesterday... I was preparing to go out yesterday evening, and trimmed my beard, had a shave, washed my hair, and had a good scrub under the shower. It felt very nice, but ultimately it was wasted effort because I didn't go out. Other things happened during the day, night, and even this morning and they are all described in my complete archived page for today. |
