There were a scattering of sunny spells yesterday, but the overall feel of the day was that it was dull, and that made it fell cooler than it was. The forecast temperature was 18° C, but one of my thermometers suggested it reach 20° C. It still felt cool enough indoors to make me want to run the heater now and then. It is quite dull this
morning, but maybe not as dull as the forecast seems
to show. This afternoon could be very sunny, and the
temperature could climb to 20° C. The
temperature could drop a lot tonight, and early
tomorrow morning it may be just 9° C. Once again,
tomorrow afternoon could be nice and sunny with the
temperature peaking at 20° C.
The highlight of the day was late last night. For a few days there has been what I assume to be a mosquito in my bathroom. Two or three days ago it actually bit me on my left calf, and I've had one or two other mild itches that was probably that little bloodsucker. I have tried to swat it many time, but last night it alighted near the top of the shower curtain with the open window behind it. One quick blast of deodorant spray, and it flew up and out of the window - hopefully never to return ! I didn't do a lot during the day, but what I did do during the day, the night, and the start of the morning is described in my complete archived page for today. |

Once again there seemed to be more sunshine than forecast yesterday. One thing was very noticeable was that the sunshine during early afternoon felt very hot, although the air temperature was possibly as little as 17° C. It seemed to cool down quite fast in the evening, and it felt quite chilly despite it still being 13° C. The latest revision to the
weather forecast is that 9am, or quite soon as I write
this, will feature grey clouds. It is not quite that
bad at the moment, but it is rather dull this morning.
In compensation the start of the sunny spells has been
brought forward to midday. There might even be a few
hours of solid sunshine, and the temperature could
rise as high as 19 or 20° C. Tonight could be
quite cool, but thick clouds should stop it getting
too cool (hopefully). Tomorrow could follow the trend
and start off cool and dull, but the afternoon should
be warm and sunny.
Yesterday was a good day, albeit with some caveats. It all revolved around going to a matinee gig featuring Chain playing in The Pelton Arms in Greenwich. I don't think I mentioned it yesterday, but it was a bank holiday. It was a warm and sunny day so many people went to the coast, or local parks. A consequence of that was that the gig was poorly attended. It can get quite rammed at The Pelton Arms at most gigs, but yesterday the custom probably barely paid for the band. The complete descripion of my day, with pictures and a video, can be seen in my complete archived page for today, and it includes my night and much of this morning. |

It was rather nice yesterday. There was lots of sunshine, and it felt warm. The temperature touched 21° C for a while. There is a great disparity
between the Met Office and BBC weather forecasts for
today. The Met Office shows just a scatter of sunny
spells, and the BBC show non stop sunny spells until
about 3pm, and then full sunshine until sunset. The
latest revision of the Met Office forecast does show
many more sunny spells, but some hours are still shown
as cloudy. Both agree that the afternoon could be 16
or 17° C. Tomorrow should see 18° C, but there
will probably be less sunshine - maybe as little as
originally shown for today in the screenshot above.
I think I can describe yesterday as a good day, although it did have it's downsides. Rather perversely, I often felt to be lacking in energy - the sort of thing high blood glucose can cause, but my blood glucose was unusually low (compared to my typical average) yesterday morning. I still managed to get out, and to do some laundry by hand. All this, plus my night and this morning, is described in my complete archived page for today. |

It took a few hours of the morning before it happened, but yesterday was a very sunny day. It was even fairly warm with the temperature reaching at least 19 ° C, and maybe just a little bit higher for an hour or two. It seems that much of today
will only feature sunny spells, but the temperature
could still hit 21° C. As usual it is interesting to
see what the BBC forecast website says about today.
They predict only 20° C, but say there will be full
sunshine all day. The biggest disparity between the
two forecasters is about tomorrow. The Met Office say
that after a a sunny start, most of the afternoon will
be dull, and probably with no sunshine at all. The BBC
say sunny spells until 4pm, and then full sunshine for
the rest of the day. Both forecasters agree that
tomorrow will be a little cooler at just 16° C.
Yesterday was another day when I stayed in instead of frolicking in the sunshine. I don't know why, but I just didn't really fancy going out. At the start of the morning I didn't even have any idea how I would pass the time yesterday, but somehow it turned out to be a usefully productive day. The relevant parts of my day, night, and this morning, are all described in my complete archived page for today. |

There was a lot of sunshine yesterday, and I have no doubt that 18° C felt very warm in direct sunshine. Unfortunately the sun is so high in the sky now that it no longer shines deep into my front rooms, and I didn't feel that it was very warm indoors. The latest revision to the
forecasst has put the first sunny spells back to 10am.
At the moment it is fairly bright outside, but there
is no bright spot among the clouds that can cast a
shadow. With luck the sun will break though as
forecast, and from 11am through to sunset, we will get
non stop sunshine. That should raise the air
temperature to 19° C (or 18° C on the BBC channel).
Tomorrow may be even warmer. Much of tomorrow may only
feature sunny spells, but there could be some hours
with full sunshine, and the temperature may reach 21°
C. (The BBC say only 20° C, but perversely that think
most of the day will feature pure sunshine).
Very little happened yesterday. I just couldn't find the inspiration to go out during the day, and even less inspiration to go to a gig in the evening. I guess I have little to say about yesterday, and that is sort of good because I spent almost the entire morning describing my day before yesterday. Nevertheless, there are a few things to describe, and I describe them all in my complete archived page for today. It includes how I slept well apart from a not very nice dream, and some good news this morning. |

We didn't see much of the promised sunshine yesterday. Much of the day was dull, although it was a warm day with the temperature reaching 19° C, and possibly 20° C for a while. At the moment it does look
like we will transition from hazy sunshine or sunny
spells to full on sunshine soon. Maybe today's
forecast, as shown above, and hardly changed in the
latest revision, and also agreed on by the BBC
forecast, will be reality today. 17° C should feel
good in bright sunshine, and maybe it will actually
climb a bit higher. Tomorrow should also feature
almost non stop sunshine after maybe an hour or so of
just sunny spells at dawn. Tomorrow's temperature is
predicted to reach 20° C for quite a number of hours.
On the whole, yesterday was pretty fair, but the evening was a bit of a disappointment, although still partly enjoyable. I had a very slow start to yesterday, and it wasn't until almost midday before I had a shower and got up. That is becoming a bit of a habit, and there are reasons I can see that happening again today. In short, what should have been the highlight of the day, seeing Caz & Steve playing in The Honor Pub was a disappointment because there was a substitute act there. My whole day, night, and this morning is described, with pictures, in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday was a glorious day ! The sun stayed out longer than forecast, although sometimes it was just sporadic sunny spells with a few dull times between them. The thermometer eventually rose to 20° C. Once again the BBC version
of the forecast is far more optimistic about the
amount of sunshine today. The Met Office currently
shows 2pm as being dull, and only sunny spells for
most of the rest of the day. The Met Office says
a maximum of 18° C, and the BBC say 19° C. With only a
light breeze predicted it should feel warm again
today. Both forecasters say non stop sunshine
tomorrow, and both say that despite the sunshine, it
may only reach 18° C.
I had a very good day yesterday, although the best bit only lasted about an hour. During the morning I had the full shave, shampoo, and shower routine, as is appropriate for such days when I was hoping to see Angela for a lunchtime drink. It was about midday, and I was almost ready to leave when I got a message from Angela. The message suggested a change of venue. This is all described, along with a few pictures (not of trains today) in my complete archived page for today, which also includes last night and the start of this morning. |

Yesterday was nice. It actually felt warm, and although the sunny spells were rare from mid afternoon, they didn't really stop. The afternoon temperature reached at least 18° C, and even the morning and late night didn't feel particularly cool. Today ought to be rather
nice, like yesterday, The Met office think the
sunshine will completely go away after 1pm, but the
BBC say sunny spells should continue all afternoon.
That would be a lot like yesterday, and so may well be
right. Both forecasters agree that it will be quite
warm this afternoon with the BBC saying 20° C, and the
Met Office saying 21° C. Tomorrow may be very similar
to today, but perhaps a degree cooler.
Yesterday was probably one of the best days I've had for quite some time, although it did turn out to be very tiring. Sadly I seemed to get a second wind when going to bed, and suffered insomnia for an hour or so. More about that later, but back to the morning, and it all started with a positive looking weather forecast. It is all described, with a selection of pictures, along with a description of my night and this morning in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday was very disappointing. I was hoping that the middle of the day would feature just a thin layer of white cloud, and it would still be bright, but it seemed to be grey for most of the time. The predicted sunshine for the last three hours of daylight turned out to just be a few thin sunny spells when the sun was so low in the sky that it barely hit the ground. The temperature may have hit 17 and maybe even 18° C, but it felt cool enough to run the heater in my bedroom on low until mid afternoon. The forecast for today has
already been revised to match the current reality of a
fairly blue sky and sunshine. It then shows just sunny
spells between 10am and 1pm, and then cloudy until
6pm. I expect this picture will be revised a lot
before the day is over. The maximum temperature today
should start at 3pm, and will only be 18° C (not 19° C
as shown in the early forecast above). The BBC seem to
think the sunny spells will actually last all day
today, but agree on the temperature. Tomorrow may see
21° C, and there could be sunshine or sunny spells all
day. The BBC agree with this forecast for tomorrow.
Yesterday seemed to pass smoothly enough, but it was a day when the grey light outside dampened my enthusiasm to do anything, and that included my desire to semi fast through much of the day. I was still a bit restrained, but I ate more then intended. That is one of the problems of feeling cold and close to bored. I did end up doing a few little things, and these and some commentary on the rest of the day, night, and this morning can be read in my complete archived page for today. |

Although there was some sunny spells at the start of the morning I think that yesterday should described as dull. Dull but warm. The temperature almost hit 20° C, but the breeze felt rather cool. This morning hasn't started
quite as bad as forecast. Instead of being grey, the
clouds are thin and milky white, and now and again
leak some hazy sunshine. This is possibly how most of
the day will be, but the current revision to the
forecast now shows 4 hours of sunny spells before
sunset. Unfortunately the maximum temperature is now
forecast to be a degree lower at 18° C. Most of
tomorrow may feature either full sunshine or sunny
spells, and maybe the temperature may briefly reach
19° C. At the moment it is no more than a wish, but
notice the amount of sunshine promised for Wednesday
onwards in the screenshot of the early forecast this
morning.
Yesterday seemed like another nice day - although not really nice in terms of the weather - it was generally dull. I think I would only have to push the boundaries a bit to say that yesterday was almost an active day ! The most active activity was just a walk to a local shop, but I did do other things, and my whole day, night, and this morning, which includes a great taste test, is all described in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday was not as good as hoped for. There was far more cloud in the sky that gave shorter sunny periods, and one or two hours passed with no sunshine at all. The temperature did reach a very respectable 20° C, but a fairly strong wind made it feel cooler. It is bright and sunny as I
write this, and my thermometers agree it is already
13° C. The temperature should continue to rise with a
peak of 18° C expected. However the last sunshine
could be very soon, sometime after 10am. By 11am it is
forecast to get a bit dull, and for a couple of hours,
very dull. There doesn't seem to be much wind at the
moment, and that may make it feel a bit warmer. It is
worth noting that the BBC says the sunny spells may
last until midday, and start again for a couple of
hours at 6pm. Tomorrow could see 19° C, and there
could be sunny spells in the morning, and then from
mid afternoon. Once again the BBC shows more sunny
spells/sunshine than the Met Office.
On the whole, yesterday was not a bad day. It didn't end as maybe it should have, but I felt OK about it. Maybe the more important thing was that the day wasn't completely wasted. I did two important things, but little more in terms of productivity. The morning started with a shopping trip to get those missing salad leaves I mentioned yesterday. I also did some laundry. Both these things are described in more detail, plus other stuff from the day, the night, and the start of this morning, in my complete archived page for today. |

The forecast for yesterday seemed to be rather pessimistic, but yesterday didn't seem that bad. There may have been very little in the way of sunshine, but it seemed to be usually fairly bright, and it was dry. The late afternoon temperature rose to about 16° C, and that seemed OK. Today has started rather
dull, and cooler than recent days. It seems to be
about 11° C now, but around 5am it was down to 8° C.
The latest revision to the forecast has moved the
first sunshine up to 9am, and I would speculate it
could end up later than that, but ultimately it should
turn into a sunny day, albeit just sunny spells at
first. The latest revision shows the temperature could
reach 20° C today. It may reach 20° C tomorrow, but
perhaps only for an hour or two. It should be a bright
start, but much of the day will be cloudy and dull.
I had another busy day yesterday, or at least that is how it felt to me. I spent many more hours photo editing. One thing became very apparent as I got to the last 20 or so photos I had taken, and it was that I was right to leave the gig when I did. Judging by the sloppy photography I was getting quite tired at the end. I offer one picture in support of the bad end photos, and describe the rest of my day, night, including a nightmare, plus the start of this morning, including an experiment when checking my blood glucose, in my complete archived page for today. |

For the second, or was it the third, day in a row, yesterday was another nice day. The morning, and early afternoon, featured sunny spells, some of them quite long, and while the late afternoon was cloudy it was bright white cloud. I seem to have a vague memory of the sun peeking through the clouds for an occasional minute, even in the afternoon. At 18° C it felt very pleasant. Today was going to be just
plain dull, but the latest revision to the forecast
says that 10 and 11am may feature some light showers,
but there is still a chance of a sunny spell at 8pm !
The highest temperature today may be just 15° C, but
even with no sun that should be just about
comfortable. Tomorrow could feature mostly sunny
spells, and the temperature could rise to 19° C -
which could feel very nice in any sunshine.
Yesterday was a good day, but like the night before, last night was pretty awful. I'll come to that later. A lot of yesterday morning was taken up with photo selection, editing, and sometimes even beautifying. As I probably mentioned yesterday, I shot 297 snaps at the Wednesday night open mic. By the time I had got almost halfway through I had chosen and edited a fairly decent photo album of 20 shots. The rest of what happened yesterday, details of another awful night, and some thoughts about this morning can be read in my complete archived page for today. |

A lot of yesterday was rather nice, but we did lose most of the sunny spells early in the afternoon, and late evening seemed to feel chillier than expected. The afternoon temperature reached 17° C. It seems like today will be
a lot like yesterday - which is pretty usual. The sky
seemed to be a purer blue earlier, but now it is a
pale blue, but the sun continues to shine even if a
bit hazy from time to time. Like yesterday we are due
to lose the sunshine or sunny spells early in the
afternoon (the latest revision to the forecast now
says 2pm), but like yesterday it will hopefully stay
bright. Maybe today's high will be a degree higher
than yesterday at 18° C. Tomorrow is either shown as
sunny spells according to the BBC forecast, or the Met
Office say white cloud all day, but the temperature
should still make 16 or 17° C C.
There were two big events yesterday, and I'll describe them in due time, but there are a few notes about the rest of the day. The main thing was having to cancel my usual Wednesday visit to The Jolly Farmers because I was expecting a parcel delivery from Amazon. To my great surprise it arrived earlier than expected - right in the middle of the time I would have been in the pub ! The big events and some smaller things are described in my complete archive page for today, and which includes how I slept, and how I felt this morning. |

Until mid afternoon, yesterday was a nice sunny day (albeit some sunshine was just sunny spells). I can't seem to remember thinking that the afternoon was that bad. There may have not been much sunshine, but it stayed bright, and the sun did emerge again in the early evening. The afternoon temperature was a pleasant 17° C This afternoon may not
actually be dull, but the latest revisions to both the
BBC and Met Office forecasts show any sunshine
finishing around midday. That is a shame for reasons
I'll explain later. Sunny spells should re-appear
later in the afternoon. The Met Office currently says
only for 5pm, and the BBC say 7 and 8pm. It will be
better than mild, but maybe a tiny bit short on warm
with the afternoon temperature reaching 17° C. There
are two very different views on tomorrow's weather.
The Met Office say it will be almost the reverse of
today - a dull start and finish, but sunny spells in
the middle. The BBC are more generous with their sunny
spells - they start from daybreak, and continue to
2pm. From 5pm they predict 3 hours of light showers.
The temperature tomorrow may be a degree higher, or it
may be the same as today.
Everything hung on my beer delivery yesterday. I didn't do much until it arrived. It's arrival was a bit later than expected, but still within the estimated delivery time. However, by the time I had opened the two boxes up, and checked my order, and then started stuffing some of the beers into my two fridges, it seemed to be gone 2pm, and it had passed that undefined time between "lets do something", and "Can't be bothered now". All I did worth telling yesterday, plus some stuff about sleeping, and the start of this morning, can be read in my complete archived page for today. |

I seem to remember yesterday as being mostly bright, and with quite a few sunny spells/periods. There didn't seem to be much wind, and that made the high of 15° C feel quite mild, but there were still times, when I was particularly sedate when I had the heater on low, although oddly enough, not much in the evening. Today is one of those rare
days when the BBC and Met Office agree that a mix of
sunshine and sunny spells will continue through the
morning, and up to 2pm this afternoon (2 hours longer
than in the early screenshot above). The Met
Office is a bit more generous in their temperature
prediction. They say that most of the high temperature
will be 17° C, but in the middle there will be one
hour at 18° C. The BBC reckon 16° C is about as high
as it will get today. The rest of the afternoon may
include a sunny spell, but generally it will be white
cloud - which will hopefully make it still seem to be
bright. There are two views on tomorrow's weather. The
Met Office say much of the day will be bright, but
midday to 2pm may feature grey clouds and light rain.
The BBC say mostly sunny spells all day tomorrow. Both
forecasters agree on a high of 17° C.
Yesterday was a very variable sort of day. I found I had very little enthusiasm for anything. That could be blamed on a hangover after getting drunk at the beer tasting session the previous day, but maybe not, or not as much. A more significant thing was possible my upset guts. After a few very productive visits to the toilet my guts did not feel good. There was a lingering feeling of a dull ache, and probably more because they were empty, my guts were often growling or gurgling. The rest of yesterday, last night, and this morning is described in my complete archived page for today. |

Various revisions of the weather forecast never said that yesterday would be almost like a summers day. The morning did start off dull, but the sun broke through a little after 10am. That was as forecast, but where reality and forecast diverged was when instead of just sunshine or sunny periods until early afternoon, the sunshine or sunny spells lasted much later, and maybe just a few hours short of sunset. Needless to say it was a dry day, and it was also warm. I am sure it hit the forecast 20° C. There was rain at 7am, and
it looked like there was probably heavier rain in the
early hours of the morning. The latest revision of the
forecast has changed all grey hours to white cloud,
and thrown in a few more sunny spells - and taken a
few away. In fact the predicted times for sunny spells
have almost all changed. I would suggest that reality
could turn out very different today, but whether it
will be sunnier, or wetter is anyone's guess. The
latest revision shows 4 hours of 15° C - rather better
than the single hour shown in the early forecast
above. Tomorrow could start a bit cool, just 8 or 9°
C, but it should warm up to 17° C. There should be
some sunshine, but a splash or rain may happen at some
time.
Yesterday was a good even though until this morning I thought it had ended as a disaster, but more of that later. I was lazy for much of the morning, and didn't have a shower until about 11am. Once I was washed and dressed I was ready to go out into the blinding sunshine - not wearing a coat - which felt good. I went to Tesco, and there is more about that, and the rest of the day, my night, this morning, and a disaster or two in my complete archived page for today. |

The Met Office promised a sunny afternoon, and the BBC promised most of the day would be sunny. All we saw was about 1 minute of sunshine during the single sunny spell that happened yesterday. On top of that, the temperature seemed to fall about 4° C short of the forecast 18° C. Overall it was an almost miserable day. On the basis that one day's
weather is usually similar to the previous day, we
could be screwed today. The latest Met Office revision
has already changed today's sunshine/sunny spells to
midday to 3pm, and then a single hour at 6pm. It has
also changed most of the 20° C hours to 19° C.
The BBC, as usual, are far more generous with their
sunshine with sunshine or sunny spells for most of the
day, but they also show rain for 6 and 7pm. Their
maximum temnperature is shown as 19° C. In other
words, we really have no idea what today's weather
will bring. Tomorrow may start with early morning
rain, but with sunny spells later. It will probably be
cooler with a maximum of just 15° C. The BBC show a
slightly more pessimistic version for tomorrow.
I was waiting on the sunshine to spur me on to a more interesting day yesterday, and apart from as little as one solitary minute of sunshine, it was a generally dull miserable day. There was a strong wind that made it worse at times. The one big thing I did was one thing I was wondering if I had time for on the assumption I would be out on a long walk in what should have been a warm and sunny afternoon. That something was laundry, but it was not a great success. Read why, and about the rest of my day, night, and the start of this morning in my complete archived page for today. |

There was certainly some rain yesterday, but mostly it was just a dull day. It was also a rather cool day, although the temperature may have risen to 14° , or 2° C higher than forecast. It was a cool night, and
maybe the forecast temperature of 9° C was about
right. It certainly is a dull morning. The quality of
light is similar to a misty day, but there is no mist.
The forecast from the Met Office insists the sun will
break through at 1pm, and from then on it will be
sunny until the end of the day. The temperature should
rise to 18° C. The BBC tells a different story, but it
can almost be completely dismissed because it says we
should be having sunny spells right now, and we
definitely are not ! The is another difference of
opinion about tomorrow. The BBC have a very optimistic
forecast for all day sunshine and 20° C. The Met
Office feel a bit more gloomy about it. They say there
will only be a small scattering of sunny spells, but
do agree about the 20° C.
I was very busy yesterday, and I didn't have time for some of the stuff I might do if I had loads of spare time on my hands. However, I can't seem to think of anything I did yesterday that took up so much time ! I did spend the usual two hours writing yesterdays scribble, and then I was lazy for a time before going out shopping. I went to Tesco, and the details about that, plus the rest of the day, night, and this morning can be read in my complete archived page for today. |

The weather forecasts for yesterday predicted all sorts of gloom and doom, but very little of it happened. There was one brief shower at about 1pm, when indeed a light shower was forecast. It was a bit of a strange shower because it seemed to consist of just a scattering of big and heavy raindrops. The ground was barely wet when it finished. Later forecasts from both The BBC and The Met Office, said there would be showers, and possibly heavy showers as sunset approached, but it seemed to stay dry - which was good, but also annoying. Once again it seemed a little warmer than forecast, maybe around 17° C. I would say the sunny spells
were all before 9am, and now it seems to be getting
duller. The BBC predicts a much longer spell of light
rain compared to just the two hours of heavy rain that
The Met Office continues to insist will happen. After
the last few days I seem to have lost all faith in my
main weather forecasters. Maybe it is time to hang
some seaweed up outside the back door.... The
temperature forecasts are usually the closest part of
the forecast to reality, and it is looking like today
will be quite cool. The maximum temperature today may
only be 12° C, but my three outdoor temperature
sensors agree it is already 14° C now !
Tomorrow may be a lot brighter and a lot warmer than
today. Both forecasters say there will be plenty of
sunshine, and the temperature could rise to 19 or 20°
C.
It is an odd thing to say, but yesterday was spoiled by the weather being too good ! I'll explain the biggest significance of that later, but one minor significance is that it being bright with sunny spells, made me sort of relaxed in the morning. Maybe it was the threat of some nasty weather that made me think nothing was worth bothering with. I try to explain this a bit better, plus describe my day, night, and the start of this morning in my complete archived page for today. |

The weather forecast for yesterday almost got it right, but the sunny spells went on past 10am (in one revision of the forecast) until close to 3pm. It was at 3pm that we had a light shower. It may have been 4 or 5pm when a couple of loud peals of thunder could be heard, but no lightning flash was seen. A little while after that there was some moderately heavy rain, but no thunder and lightning. I'm not sure when the rain ended, but I don't think there was much more than two hours of it. The forecast temperature was 17° C, but it may have reached a couple of degrees higher like it has done recently. The sky is quite cloudy, but
the sun keeps finding it's way through the clouds. The
latest revision shows full sunshine for midday, and
then light rain at 1pm. It might be dry, but cloudy
after that until light rain starts again at about 6pm.
The temperature should peak at 17° C in the early
afternoon. Tomorrow is currently shown as all dry,
except for 3pm when light rain may fall, but it will
be a dull cloudy day. It will also be rather cool with
a high of only 13° C predicted.
The big disappointment yesterday was hearing from Angela that she wouldn't be coming to the pub at lunchtime. She was expecting a plasterer to arrive and re-plaster a ceiling damaged by a water leak. There were other disappointments yesterday, but I'll explain those in due course. The rest of my day, and the other disappointments/disasters are described in my complete archived page for today, with a few pictures to illustrate a few bits. |

Yesterday was a far, far better day than the forecasts predicted. From time to time predictions of thunderstorms were included in the weather forecasts, and indeed I think I was just able to hear a very far off rumble of thunder. The reality is that there were more sunny spells than falls of rain yesterday. There was a light passing shower at 3pm, and some rain around sunset, but none of the later rain appeared to be heavy, although maybe there were a few moments here and there when it was heavier. It was quite a warm day, and the consensus of my outdoor thermometers was that the temperature reached 20° C, or 3° higher than the 17° C forecast. It is bright and sunny this
morning, and iut could stay that way for a few hours
yet. This afternoon is just pot luck. It probably will
rain sometime, but the latest revision only shows
light rain at 2 and 3pm and another shower at 6pm. It
seems like no one can really predict this weather, and
it could equally end up as a dry day, or one with
heavy rain. It is still predicted to be 17° C in the
early afternoon. The forecast for tomorrow is probably
just fantasy at this time, but for what it is
worth....it should be bright in the morning with some
sunny spells in the early afternoon, but rain towards
the end of the afternoon. Once again 17° C is
predicted, but even that could be very different
tomorrow.
I guess I could describe yesterday as being a sort of quiet day. I didn't do much, but then again I didn't have a lot of free time. The most significant thing I did was the housework in the dining room that I suggested I might do when writing yesterday morning. I did slightly more than hoovering up all Jodie's crumbs from the floor while hoovering all the floor. I also scrubbed the "wipe clean" PVC table cloth in the dining room. All the rest of my day, night, and the start of this morning, is described in my complete archived page for today. |

A lot of rain was forecast for yesterday, but most didn't fall. There were a couple of very light, very brief showers during the day, but there were heavier showers at night - very late at night ! There seemed to be very little wind, and my thermometers suggested the temperature rose to around 19° C instead of the forecast 14° C. If only there had been some sunshine it would have been a very nice day. The latest revision of the
forecast still insists that there should be sunny
spells at 9am. There were none at 8am, and it doesn't
look likely there will be any at 9am either. The
problem is that the weather is coming in from the
east, and the forecasters have no way to tell if the
the thinner clouds will pass just to the north or the
south of us. The same goes for the rain bearing clouds
that may, or may not, arrive at midday. The BBC
forecast includes an animated map of the clouds, and
despite their main forecast throwing in loads of
thunderstorms today, it actually shows the only time
we may get rain is around 1pm when the southernmost
tip of a large wet cloud will just brush over us. The
afternoon temperature should rise to 17° C. The
weather tomorrow, which being a Wednesday is of
particular interest to me, is going to be quite
uncertain, like today. It was forecast to be very wet,
with possible thunderstorms. The BBC still say that,
but the Met Office show the morning as being sunny,
and the afternoon dull but dry. Rain is then forecast
from 4pm, but like today, it is all highly variable
and unpredictable.
Despite some dire weather predicted, yesterday was almost a nice day. I did encounter the lightest shower possible at one point, but I think most of the rain evaporated before it even hit me. Two things stand out about yesterday, another shopping trip to Tesco, and a beer tasting session in the afternoon. All the details about yesterday, last night, and the start of this morning can be read in my complete archived page for today. It includes a picture and a video (that only plays on some computers). |

It took longer than expected for the cloud to clear yesterday, but from about 2pm it was like a nice summers day. Plenty of warm sunshine, and lovely blue sky. The temperature rose to 21° C ! The best thing to say about
this morning was that by my reckoning it was close to
13° C at 7am, and hopefully will rise higher than the
forecast 14° C this afternoon. There was a red sky at
5am this morning, and that signals bad weather ahead.
Perhaps the first casualty was the predicted sunny
spells this morning. There have been a few hazy shafts
of sunshine, but not amounting to much. At 11am the
sky may turn black and the first of the rain will
fall. In the latest revision it is now shown as only
light rain. 1 to 4pm could be dry, but at 5pm the rain
starts up again, but once again it is now only shown
as light rain except for possibly 9pm when heavier
rain could fall. Tomorrow could be brighter, and
warmer too. 18° C is forecast, but there is a 30 to
40% chance of mostly light rain for most of the
afternoon.
Fine weather yesterday, particularly in the afternoon, but not so much in the morning, meant most of the aches and pains from the previous day just evaporated away, and generally I was pain free. That lead to a fairly active day, or perhaps active afternoon would be more accurate. The highlight of the day was an afternoon gig. There are a few sample pictures of the gig, plus a fuller description of my day, night, and the start of this morning in my full archived page for today. |

Yesterday was fairly wet, and the garden got the watering it deserved, but it was more to do with the persistence of the rain rather than it being heavy. I saw very little "heavy rain", and the definition had to be stretched a bit for the few heavier bursts of rain to be called "heavy". It was a cool day according to the forecast, but I think it went higher than the forecast 14° C. In the late afternoon it felt more like 16 or 17° C, but maybe it was the lack of wind or something. It is quite dull as I write
this, but the first sunshine may be only an hour away.
The latest revision to the forecast only makes one
change to that above, and it is that 1pm is now shown
as featuring sunny spells. By late afternoon it could
be starting to feel hot as the temperature is
predicted to rise to 21° C. Tomorrow is another bank
holiday, and so naturally it will be colder and wet.
The day may actually start with a few hours of
sunshine until heavy clouds take over, and it may be
warmest at 10am when it might be 15° C. From midday,
when the rain is currently predicted to start, the
temperature will slowly fall away, but it might still
be 13° C at midnight. The day after tomorrow may be a
bit warmer, and may have a few sunny spells in between
showers, or it could be completely different to what
is being forecast now.
The most significant thing about yesterday was that I ached. Maybe not all at the same time, but every major or minor organ in my torso ached, and nearly every joint in my arms and legs seemed to ache. One more persistent ache was my right wrist. I spent much of the day wearing a wrist support. Despite all that, stuff did get done, and it is all described in my complete archived page for today that also includes some details of a nightmare, and some good news this morning. |

Very little of the promised rain fell yesterday. All it amounted to was a very brief, very brief passing shower a little bit before midday. It was enough to make the pavements look wet, but five minutes after it stopped they were dry again. One thing promised, at least in at least one revision of the weather forecast, was thundery showers. At about 12:15 I could hear distant peals of thunder while it was perfectly dry here. I think the thunderstorm passed quite a few miles to the north of here. There were a few short sunny spells in the afternoon, and the temperature exceeded the forecast by hitting a peak of 20° C. Evidently the forecast was based on the idea that the rain would have cooled the air down if there was any rain ! The sky was looking very
threatening, but the sun managed to break through a
little while ago. Meanwhile the forecast has been
revised to show the first rain falling at 10am this
morning. It will/may start light, but build up to
heavy rain by midday. With luck the garden will be
watered, and it will all be over soon after 5pm. This
morning started out mild at around 12° C. It will
apparently only rise to a rather cool 14° C today.
Tomorrow will start dull, but it is supposed to
brighten up by the afternoon, and the afternoon could
see some a few isolated sunny spells. The temperature
could hit a very summer like 20° C.
Yesterday was an odd day. It didn't feel like a conventional hangover, but I guess it was partly a hangover that left me feeling "off". I can't really describe what "off" really means beyond it being a negative thing both physically and mentally. There were a few other things feeding into such a feeling. My poor sleep because of unstable guts, and my unstable guts still acting up through a lot of the morning didn't help. Then there was the negative weather. It may have barely rained, but that was still enough to make an assortment of joints ache. How I dealt with the day, night, and the start of this morning is described in my complete archived page for today. |

It seems the early version of yesterday's weather forecast came closest to reality. Later revision showed less sunny spells, but if anything there seemed to be more, although I may be remembering bright, but not actually sunny periods , as sunny periods. It was a mild/warm day with the temperature reaching about 18° C. It was a warm night, and it
was 14° C at midnight. It cooled off a couple of
degrees by sunrise, but is slowly climbing, and could
reach 18° C again today. It seems highly likely there
will be rain today, but the time and intensity seems
to keep changing every time the forecast is revised.
The more significant difference in the latest revision
is that the thundery showers, seen in the early
morning screenshot above, have no been replaced with
light showers. Heavy rain might still be possible at
11am and 4pm. There might even be some sunny spells
between showers today. The BBC forecast said it should
be raining right now, but there is no sign of rail
yet, and the clouds don't seem like rain clouds. The
rest of the BBC forecast says the rain should be over
by 4pm, and sunny spells and even full sunshine could
follow until sunset. Tomorrow could be a bit grey, and
probably wet. The BBC gives a 70% chance of rain for a
lot of the day, but the Met Office shows a lower
chance except at 4pm when they say a 80% chance of
rain.
Most of yesterday was a good day, although the wheels fell off later in the evening and overnight. I don't feel too bright this morning after a troubled night, but more about that later. The highlight of the (late) morning was a shopping trip to Tesco. That and an afternoon drinking session were the main elements of yesterday, but my night was just as eventful, and not in a good way. All these things, plus a bit about this morning, are described in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday didn't always seem to be very warm, and, indeed, not even warm some of the time, but it was bright and sunny for most of the day - albeit as mostly sunny spells/periods. The maximum temperature was a disappointing 13 or 14° C. The latest revision to the
forecast has the sunny spells finishing an hour
earlier than above, at midday. After that the next
sunny spell may not be until 8pm - unless you believe
the BBC forecast which shows sunny spells and whole
hours of sunshine lasting through the whole day. I
know what I want to believe ! It should still reach
18° C today, or 19° C according to the BBC. Tomorrow
may reach 17° C, but it is going to be wet, or even
very wet. Both forecasters agree on that, and the Met
Office has even thrown in a thundery shower ! I expect
it could turn out differently tomorrow, although some
rain would be good to water the bulbs I planted in my
last bit of gardening.
It could be said that there was a seismic shift in the events of yesterday. It was nothing like I thought, or indeed planned it would be. It started to go wrong when I heard from Angela that she was going out later in the day, and so would not be coming to the pub. I did wonder if she was going to the open mic at The Partridge pub in Bromley during the evening. To find out how yesterday turned out, complete with some pictures to illustrate some of my day, you can read my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday seemed better than the forecast seemed to suggest, although having said that, the forecast was very changeable yesterday. After a few dull hours in the morning it brightened up, although sunshine was a a premium until late in the afternoon/early evening. I wish I had paid more attention to my thermometers because it seemed to feel a bit less cold than the 14° C predicted. The Met Office have finally
come around to the BBC's way of thinking - today
should be bright and sunny. Sadly it will not be very
warm. The best The Met Office can offer is 13° C,
although the BBC reckon 14° C - both should still be
bare arm weather when walking. Tomorrow may be much
warmer with the temperature reaching 18° C, but only
about a random of half the hours of the day will see
no better than sunny spells. The BBC predict more
intensive sunny spells, but only 17° C. After tomorrow
it looks like rain will become a major feature in
forecasts for the week ahead.
After a dull, boring and miserable Monday, yesterday was much more interesting, and felt a lot more productive. Although there was not a single sunny spell in the morning that I can remember, it did seem fairly bright (after some early morning darker cloud had moved on), and it felt warm enough to go out without a coat. There are a few pictures to illustrate some of my day, plus other stuff is described in my complete archived page for today, and it includes my night and thoughts this morning. |

Much of yesterday didn't really follow any revision of the weather forecast, although having said that, there were only a few things sufficiently different to be important.I can't recall the predicted sunny spells for 9am happening. Several revisions of the forecast said it would start to rain at midday. Even the BBC forecast agreed with that, but in reality that was when we had the first sunny spells. Unfortunately they were brief, and there were not many of them. It did eventually rain, maybe just after 1pm, but it was light rain, and all over in a few minutes. Not enough rain fell to make the road outside look even damp. The forecast for sunny spells at the start of the evening turned out to be right, and the temperature reaching 17° C was right, although maybe it really went a degree or two higher. The latest revision to the
forecast has changed 1pm to dark clouds, and 3pm to
sunny spells. Other than that, it is still the same as
the screenshot above. It should stay dry, and the
temperature will only rise to 14° C. Oddly enough, this
is almost exactly as forecast yesterday. It is strange
for the forecasters to get anything right more then 30
minutes in advance. I hope they have come closer to the
truth for tomorrow. For several days now the BBC has
been saying tomorrow will be a bright and sunny day. The
Met Office said it would be dull, but now they say lots
of sunny spells. Maybe by tomorrow they will say full
sunshine, and maybe they will be right, but I am not
terribly optimistic.
I was not in a happy mood yesterday. I think it was because I finally realised that yesterday was a bank holiday, and they can be more miserable than Sunday's. For some strange reason we seemed to have a normal weekday train service, and if it was warm and sunny, instead of dull with the potential for rain, I might have gone out, but I didn't like the weather, and I just could not be bothered. What I did do yesterday is described in my complete archived page for today. It also includes my night, and this morning plus some theories about the temperature (which I hope I managed to explain OK). |

Much of yesterday was dull, although the morning did feature some sunshine. Like recently the temperature rose to 17° C again, with with little to no sunshine in the afternoon it didn't feel warm. Later revisions to the forecast predicted some rain for late last night, but it seems it stayed perfectly dry. This morning, the 1st day of
May, and sometimes regarded as almost a summer month,
has got off to a grey start. There could be
sunny spells at 9am, but only for that one single
hour. Rain is forecast for midday, 1pm, 2pm, and 4pm.
The rain for midday and 1pm could be heavy rain. There
could be some sunny spells in the early evening. I
think the temperature is already 12° C, and maybe it
will climb higher than the 17° C forecast for today.
Tomorrow could start with dark cloud, but by mid
morning white cloud is currently forecast, and that
white cloud will continue for the rest of the day. It
is going to be colder tomorrow with the day starting
around 8° C, and the afternoon only 14° C.
I didn't seem to be in a very positive mood yesterday. I wanted to go to see a couple of bands at The Sweeps Festival in Rochester, but I seemed to find too many negative reasons for not going, and I ended up staying in doing one modestly big job, and a lot of playing around jobs. That job is described briefly, and then there probably were no more jobs beyond cooking mad just playing with stuff. It is all described, and illustrated with pictures, in my complete archived page for today, which also includes my night and some observations this morning. |
