My
Electronic Diary For September 2024 |
Monday 30th September 2024 |
09:47
BST
Not only did
yesterday start a degree or two colder than
forecast, but the predicted sunshine arrived a
few hours late, and then it was only sunny
spells. I can't recall seeing all that many
sunny spells yesterday, but at least it did
stay dry - even when the rain was forecast to
fall at 7pm. I'm unsure if the rain had even
started by midnight. The maximum temperature
was in the region of 14° C.
The forecast
for rain this morning seemed to start
correctly, but as I write this the rain
seems to have stopped, and the sun is trying
to break through the clouds. Maybe it will
never break through because the sky seems to
be a very uniform grey colour. Maybe the
rain will continue intermittently until 5pm
when it is forecast it should stay dry for
the rest of the day. This morning started at
about 14° C (by my reckoning) and it should
peak at 16° C by midday. It looks like the
cloud will continue into the night, and that
will keep the temperature up a bit. Tomorrow
is forecast to start at 11° C. It will
probably be like today with light rain or
drizzle until 4pm, and then possibly dry
until the end of the day. The day should
reach just 14° C.
I guess yesterday was a fairly good day, or perhaps good and bad in equal measure. I don't think I did anything yesterday morning except the usual writing, reading and snoozing. Apart from having a shower, just after midday, there was little I had to do until mid afternoon. As usual, my day, plus my night, and this morning, is described in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday started at
just a few degrees above where a frost could
have formed in sheltered spots. It stayed cool
all day, although it was sunny in the morning,
and there were sunny spells in the afternoon
which would probably make 14° C feel at least
tepid. The sunshine did help warm up my south
facing front rooms, and that helped my
electricity consumption.
The forecast said
9° C after daybreak, but I reckon it was
only 8° C, and two of my thermometers said
closer to 7° C. As far as I am aware, there
has not been a single hint of the sun so far
this morning, and as I type this the sky is
a very depressing grey. Maybe the sun will
eventually break through, but I'm not
holding my breath. Maybe with the help of
possibly imaginary sunny spells, the
temperature will reach 14° C this afternoon.
After sunset we can look forward to more
rain, although it is forecast to be just
light rain. Tomorrow will start a bit warmer
than today, maybe 14° C, but it will be
because of heavy clouds that will start the
day with heavy rain. It could change to
light rain at 9am, and stop at 1pm. By as
early as 11am the temperature may reach 16°
C, and stay that way until 3pm when it will
slowly drop to 13° C by midnight.
I can't decide if yesterday was a good or bad day. I did do a couple of useful things, and so I guess I better call it a good day......but it wasn't a good, good day. I have similar indecisions about the evening. That too was good and bad, although the bad was not apparent until this morning. As usual, my day, night, and this morning, is described in more or less detail in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday was a cold
day with a maximum of just 12° C, but after a
wet start it dried up, and the afternoon
included a few sunny spells to help warm
things up in my bedroom.
Clear skies in the
night meant a very cold start to today. The
forecast said just 6° C, but two of my
thermometers said it was closer to just 5°
C. We only just avoided a frost by a couple
of degrees !The good news is that the sky is
still clear, and while it is very cold
outside, full sunshine shining through my
bedroom windows is already warming the room
up. The full on sunshine may only last until
11am, but the afternoon should still see
plenty of sunny spells. The temperature
should peak at 14° C, or even possibly 15°
C. Tomorrow may start at 8° C, and
there should be sunny spells during the
morning. The afternoon may be mostly dull,
but the temperature should rise to 14° C.
From 5pm onwards it will probably get wet,
although on from light rain.
Almost my entire morning yesterday, was dedicated to waiting to hear when my box of beers would be delivered. I really did very little except read and wait after I finished writing. I actually got the notification that the delivery would take place between 14:54 and 15:54 before I had finished writing. My day, what there was of it, plus my night, which was good for a change, and the start of my morning, is all described, with pictures, in my complete archived page for today. |

There was not a
single rumble of thunder to be heard
yesterday, and so the BBC got that bit of the
forecast wrong. If I remember correctly, it
was dry and sunny until early afternoon, but
then we did have some rain. It was not heavy
rain, and it did clear up for a few hours that
featured some sunny spells, but there was more
light rain in the early evening. It was, as
forecast, a cool day with the temperature only
reaching 16° C.
Today's forecast
is both right and wrong. It is most
definitely raining this morning, and so fat
the BBC forecast (screenshot above) is
closer to the truth than the Met Office
forecast. The Met Office predicted a lot
more heavy rain, but at the moment the only
heavy rain has just finished - The BBC said
at 9am, and that fits. It is the afternoon
where there is some unknowns. The BBC says
the rain will continue all afternoon. The
Met Office says the afternoon will be bright
and sunny. The BBC say a max of 12° C, and
The Met Office say we could see 14° C.
It is probably going to be quite a cold
night, and tomorrow may start at just 6° C,
but it will warm up after a possible very
sunny start followed by sunny spells until
sunset. The temperature may still only rise
to 14° C, but at least that might be 2° C
higher than today.
Like most days, yesterday had it's ups and downs, but most of the day was fairly good. The late evening was a total disaster, but I'll come to that later. I think I felt mostly OK despite my health indicators suggesting otherwise. In theory I did all the right things to improve my blood glucose level and weight. My day, and why the evening was a disaster, is all described, along with my night and this morning, in my complete archived page for today. |

Once again the
weather forecast for yesterday was a bit
pessimistic. Not a single ray of sunshine was
forecast, but we did have some sunny spells in
the middle of the day, and some later on if I
recall correctly. Loads of rain, from dawn to
dusk, was forecast, but much of the day seemed
to be rain free. It was rather cool though.
The forecast said a max of 15° C, and I think
that was right.
Today's forecast
has got off to a fine start. It was wet
outside, but not raining, at daybreak, and
since then it has been sunny outside. The
sky is still nice and blue, and the sunshine
should continue for a while yet. Even the
latest revision to the forecast still says
the first rain will fall at 11am, and maybe
this will happen. Maybe there will be non
stop thunderstorms from midday until 6pm,
but I find that unlikely (and the Met Office
agrees with me). The met Office predicts a
high of 18° C today, but the BBC, as shown
above, says just 16° C. Tomorrow could
be quite damp all day with lots of mostly
light showers, and with a max of just 12° C
it is going to feel very wintry.
Like many days, yesterday was both good and bad. Maybe most of the bad was actually the result today, and it didn't seem bad at the time. More about that later. My shave, shampoo, and shower the day before meant I just needed a shower before going out yesterday. As usual I went to The Jolly Farmers for my Wednesday Guinness for lunch. This and the rest of my day is described, with my night and this morning, in my complete archived page for today. |

BST
Yesterday was very
dull, but it was dry all day. I seem to recall
we did have a few sunny spells, but only a
few, and they only lasted a minute or two. I
am unsure if we did have the very brief spike
of 17° C, or if it was basically just 16° C at
best.
The weather
forecast for today has changed beyond
recognition over night, and not for the
better. It seems today will be completely
dark grey, and it is going to be very damp.
The road is very wet outside from some
earlier rain or drizzle, but it doesn't seem
to be raining as I type this. Until 6pm the
forecast shows a mix of light rain or
drizzle, but 6pm may see heavy rain -
perhaps for just the one hour. It is going
to feel quite chilly in the grey light, and
a temperature forecast to only reach 15°
C. We are truly in Autumn now !
Tomorrow could be a lot like today, but much
of the afternoon could see 16° C. It is also
possible that we might see a few short sunny
spells, and because this is a BBC forecast,
there could be a thunderstorm at 9 and 11am.
The Met Office forecast for tomorrow doesn't
mention thunderstorms, and says the day
might even get off to a dry and cheerful
start. Tomorrow the truth will be revealed.
Yesterday was not a great day. As well as the weather being grey and horrible, I felt sort of depressed and/or unmotivated. The weather was the cause or catalyst for this, but there was another reason I'll mention in a paragraph or two. Curiously enough, the legacy today of yesterday being bad was rather good. All this, and more, including about my night and this morning, is described in my complete archived page for today. |

The first thing to
say about yesterday's weather was that there
was a lot less rain than forecast, and not a
single rumble of thunder was heard. The worst
of the rain probably stopped by mid morning,
and it wasn't long before there was a very
brief sunny spell. The afternoon saw more
sunny spells, and from time to time it almost
seemed to be a nice day, but sadly a cloud
would come along and ruin the sunshine - but
it stayed dry. The sunny spells helped warm my
front rooms up to a nice comfortable
temperature, but outside it probably didn't go
above 17° C.
One of both
forecasters predicted heavy rain in the
small hours of this morning. It did look
slightly damp when I opened the curtains,
but I was never aware of any heavy rain.
This morning it is very dull, but it is not
raining (although the damp appearance may
have been drizzle at 7am). It will stay very
dull until maybe 2pm when it will change to
just ordinary dull ! It is going to be
another cool day. One single hour of 17° C
is predicted, but generally it will only be
16° C. There could be mostly light
rain from 3pm onwards tomorrow, but before
that it should be dry, and mostly dull.
Tomorrow's temperature may only see 16° C
for two hours, and most of the day could
feel quite chilly.
I think I seemed to feel fairly OK yesterday, but it was another day when not a lot got done - and anything that did get done had nothing to do with computers, my new M2 solid state hard disks, or anything like that. I did do some laundry though. My day is described in my complete archived page for today, and it includes some notes about my night, sleep and morning. |

The BBC forecast for
thundery showers all day long yesterday was a
complete fantasy. There was some moderately
heavy rain in the morning, but not a hint of
any thunder. By 11am there was a very brief
sunny spell, and the clouds were breaking up a
bit. The afternoon had frequent sunny spells,
and everything dried out. There was more rain
late at night. I can't be sure, but I think
the afternoon may have been a degree or two
warmer than the forecast 19° C.
There was heavy
rain during the night, and it didn't finish
until about 7am, although there is still a
bit of drizzle even now. The BBC forecast,
in the screenshot above, is pretty
pessimistic, but the Met Office forecast
says it will be dull, but dry from 11am to
5pm. After, just when the BBC says rain will
stop for a while, it will probably rain
until the end of the day. The afternoon
temperature should reach a slightly cool 17°
C, although the Met Office says 18° C.
Tomorrow may be a generally dry day,
but the chances of seeing any sunshine at
all seem to be just about zero. It will be
another coold day with just 17° C predicted.
Yesterday was a day that was probably boring because I didn't really do anything, and yet it was a successful day. After writing I had my usual rest, laying on my bed reading, and then I had a shower. I could have done a bit of laundry after that, but I didn't. All I did in the day, how well I slept, and how my health is this morning, is all described in my complete archived page for today. |

09:38
BST
Yesterday's weather
was almost like the forecast. Two obvious
departures were that it was another murky
start, and the sun didn't break through until
the morning was almost over. The forecast
thunderstorm didn't happen at 3pm, but there
was a very light shower at about 2.30pm that
lasted for a few minutes. I can't be sure that
there was no rain after dark, but it seemed
the rain waited until the very early hours of
this morning. It was quite a warm day - warm
enough to open my bedroom, and other windows
for an hour or two. The thermometer read 23°
C.
The Met Office
predicted heavy rain at daybreak, and there
was. It then went on to predict mostly light
rain, and even an occasional dry hour, until
9pm when very heavy rain could resume. On
the other hand, the BBC forecast (in the
screenshot above) shows not a single pause
in the rain, and while most of it is shown
as light rain, every single hour includes a
Thunderstorm ! There were even thunderstorms
forecast from midnight last night to 7am
this morning, and yet I heard and saw
nothing. As I type this, the rain seems to
have stopped, and I could almost imagine it
is brightening up a bit. Maybe the only bit
of the forecast we can rely on, and agreed
by both the BBC and the Met Office, is that
the temperature will peak at 19° C mid
afternoon. Tomorrow is shown as mostly wet,
but only light rain, and there may be sunny
spells from mid afternoon. Of course it
wouldn't be a BBC forecast without one
thunderstorm, and they reckon it will be at
6am tomorrow.
Yesterday featured a small disaster of my own making, but I almost recovered from it by this morning. Another "disaster" that I have been meaning to post a follow up to is regarding the leak from the thermostat on my water heater. I am happy to say that the drip once a second, or possibly even faster for part of day one, is now down to drip about every 7 seconds. It could be a week or less now until the leak if once again sealed by limescale. Yesterday's disaster was more minor than I thought. You can read about that, and other stuff in my complete archived page for today, and which also includes notes about last night and this morning. |

As far as I am
aware, yesterday morning did not follow the
forecast, and was completely dry. The forecast
showers for 10 and 11am could actually have
been when the sun started to break through the
clouds. So it was sunny instead of wet ! The
afternoon was definitely sunny, although I am
not so sure it lasted until sunset. The
temperature rose to 21° C.
The forecasts from
both The Met Office and the BBC are almost
identical, but only the BBC shows rain and a
thunderstorm for 3pm ! Neither forecaster
acknowledges that as I write this it is
rather grey, and the chances of a sunny
spells at any time in the near future seems
very unlikely. However, it could be warm
with a high of 23° C predicted. The
Met Office predicts that tomorrow will be
damp, but mostly from light showers, until
the last shower at 4pm. The BBC says
thunderstorms from almost dawn to dusk, and
if it is not a thunderstorm it will still be
heavy rain. Both forecasters agree that
tomorrow will be just 19° C by early
afternoon.
Yesterday can only be described as a bland day. It passed by easily enough, but I found I was not in the right frame of mind to do much with the day. Probably my greatest achievement was eating unwisely, although maybe it was going out to get some assorted shopping from Poundstretcher. All I did yesterday, including an interesting bit late in the evening, my sleep, and this morning, are described in my complete archived page for today. |

BST
It seems the
great omniscient weather computer has got
itself into some sort of software loop.
Yesterday, like a lot of days recently, was
forecast to start bright and shiny. The
reality was another very dull morning, but the
sun did break through eventually, The
afternoon was very sunny, and it seemed warm
enough to open several windows to air the
house without it feeling chilly. The afternoon
temperature reached 23° C.
It comes as no
surprise that this morning has started very
murky, but maybe the surprise is that this
morning it has been correctly forecast. One
difference is that there could be some light
rain before the sky clears, if indeed it
does clear, by 1pm (the clue may come at
midday when sunny spells are forecast). It
is going to be a little cooler today, but
21° C should be nice in the sunshine. The
balck bar with "Weather Warning" in it
refers to tomorrow, or maybe the day
after. Tomorrow should start with
sunny spells (yeah, we've heard that one
before !), but there could be a few showers
between them. The maximum temperature should
be 22° C. From 9pm there could be
thunderstorms. Curiously, the Met Office
don't seem to have a weather warning, and
don't seem to mention thunderstorms at all !
Their forecast says tomorrow night should be
dry, and Sunday only mildly damp (the BBC
say loads of thunderstorms).
Yesterday featured an interesting paradox. It one respect it was an awful day, but this morning it turned out that what I thought was a disaster was actually a good thing, somehow. The bad was the result of boredom and frustration (a bit like most of life), and somehow, in ways I can't fully understand, that was also why it was good ! My day yesterday, my night (or what I remember of it) and this morning is all described in my complete archived page for today. |

It took until nearly
midday for the sun to finally burn off the
cloud, and let through glorious sunshine. The
first sunny spell lasted about 15 seconds, as
early as 10am. The afternoon was warm and
bright. The temperature hit about 23° C. The
warmest day for quite some time.
Once again it is a
very murky morning despite the forecast
saying sunny spells. Hopefully the sun will
eventually break through, and like
yesterday, it will be full on, non stop,
from about midday. It should get the
temperature up to a short peak of 24° C.
Tomorrow may almost be a replay of today,
except the forecast says that it will be a
murky start, and the maximum tempeature may
only be 21° C. The day after tomorrow may
see the return of rain, and the BBC have
even thrown a few of their beloved
thunderstorms into their prediction.
Yesterday sometimes seemed like hard work, and sometimes painful, but looking back it did seem to be quite fulfilling. It was a shame I didn't get to see Angela, but that was more hope than expectation. On the other hand it is a bit annoying that she didn't update me on her hospital appointment as I thought she would do, albeit probably via text instead of face to face. All I did yesterday, how I slept, and notes about this morning, can all be read in my full archive page for today. |

It was later than
forecast, and started slowly, but the clouds
slowly cleared yesterday morning, and we were
treated to strong sunshine. It didn't last
long, and from maybe late morning we
just had sunny spells, but it was enough to
warm the temperature up to 20° C. It seemed
warm enough in the afternoon to open my
bedroom window for half an hour or so.
The forecast
sunshine for this morning has now become
rather murky looking cloud, but there is
still a chance of sunny spells at 11am, and
full sunshine from 1pm. By 3pm the
temperature may rise to 23° C. A clear night
means tomorrow may start rather cool, but it
should be another dry day, and with the
temperature rising to 23° C again.
I didn't hear any more from Angela yesterday. I was hoping that she would say her hospital appointment was at least OK, and maybe that she might reveal something about her diagnosis of cancer. I think I was very lucky that she messaged me in the first place as she obviously wants to keep it all very private. What I did do yesterday, how I slept, and some notes about this morning, can all be read in my complete archived page for today. |

08:24
BST
Despite the weather
forecast saying yesterday should start with
sunny spells, it was a relentlessly grey
start, and it didn't improve to nearly 11am
when the first brief sunny spells appeared.
The sunny spells gradually got longer, and by
about 3pm reality and the forecast matched
with full sunshine until sunset. The
temperature rose to 20° C, but it wasn't until
we got full sunshine that it actually seemed
to feel warm.
The sky is not
actually clear yet, but the sun has been
shining for maybe the last 20 minutes. The
forecast says it won't stay sunny for long,
and fom 10am we may just get sunny spells
until one final hour of full sunshine as the
sun is setting. Once again the temperature
should reach 20° C this afternoon. Tomorrow
may see 23° C after sunny spells at the
start of the day, and then full sunshine,
but a clear sky will mean a slightly cooler
start.
A very unexpected thing happened yesterday after that made me feel very happy, very sad, and very worried. more about that further down the page. I am unsure if I felt good or bad yesterday morning. I was certainly a bit concerned about my blood glucose measurements - they were mildly high, and I felt that was too high. My full day, such as it was, plus my night, and the start of this morning, is all described in my complete archived page for today. |
Monday 16th September 2024 |
07:49
BST
Yesterday's sunshine
gave way to sunny spells earlier than
forecast, and those sunny spells rapidly
turned into just grey sky. The thermometer
said the temperature still hit the forecast
19° C, but with no sunshine it felt quite
cool. Indoors, where I was relying on the
sunshine to keep it warm, felt quite chilly at
times.
The Met Office and
BBC weather forecast (BBC shown above) look
almost identical, and both have not got off
to a good start. We should be having sunny
spells now, but there is not a hint of the
sun in the sky. Some of the sky looks grey
enough for possible rain. The only good
thing is that the thick cloud during the
night meant it was not so cold this morning.
Maybe the sun will break through later, and
maybe there will be full sunshine from 3pm,
but I feel quite pessimistic about it. The
temperature may still reach 20° C, but
without the sunshine it won't be any warmer
indoors, and my comfort threshold is about
22° C at this time of the year. A colder
start, and a lot more sunshine are forecast
for tomorrow, but the temperature should
still only reach 20° C.
Yesterday morning I was having fantasies that I might go out for another walk to the top of Blythe Hill Fields, but that idea very quickly evaporated, and barely made it past the time when I finished writing. I did go out, but only as far as Tesco where I bought some good and bad stuff. The good and bad of yesterday, last night, and also this morning, is described in my complete archived page for today. |
Sunday 15th September 2024 |
08:30
BST
Yesterday started
very cool again, but non stop sunshine warmer
it up about 18° C. I must admit that although
still below 20° C it felt very nice thanks to
almost no wind. The temperature dropped quite
slowly after the peak, and it was a less cold
night than the previous night.
My observations
are that this morning started a little
cooler than 10° C, and closer to 8° C thanks
to clear sky. Today should be another great
sunny day with the temperature peaking at
19° C - a whole degree warmer than
yesterday. From mid afternoon there will
only be sunny spells, and the cloud that
causes it may bring a tiny chance of rain,
but no bigger than a 21% chance. Tomorrow is
shown as completely dry, but only sunny
spells until almost late afternoon when non
stop sunshine should continue until sunset.
It should be another degree warmer tomorrow
with 20° C predicted. It should feel like
summer has returned.
Yesterday turned out to be a very good day thanks to some inspired madness, or braveness, or something like that. After my normal morning writing (this electronic diary) I had my usual rest, and then went and washed my hair and had a shower. With that done, and my hair dried, I took some painkillers, got a camera ready, and ventured out into the sunshine. You can read about my day, and see the pictures I took in my complete archived page for today, and which also includes notes about my night, and the start of this morning. |

Yesterday started
very cool, in fact it was cold, just 8° C
according to the forecast but possibly as low
as 6° C. It was a very sunny morning, and
very, very slowly the temperature crept up to
peak at 16° C. There was very little breeze,
and in direct sunshine it didn't feel too bad,
but the afternoon didn't seem to dry clothes
on the washing line. By midnight the
temperature had dropped down to 11° C, and
kept falling.
Once again it is a
bright sunny morning, and once again the
temperature was at least as low as 7° C
according to my three thermometers. However,
today rthe strong sunshine should raise the
temperature to 18° C by mid afternoon. That
could feel quite warm in direct sunshine,
but still a bit cool in any shadow. Tonight
is shown as another clear night, but the
temperature may not fall so low by tomorrow
morning. Tomorrow could start at 10° C, and
non stop sunshine until 3pm, when, like
yesterday, and the day before, it will give
way to sunny spells, should see 19° C. I
still maintain it has to be 20° C to be
officially warm in my book, but it should
still be very pleasant compared to the
sometimes almost wintry days we have seen
recently.
I think I could describe yesterday as peaceful, That could be another way of saying that not a lot happened, but it was not a boring day. Although "not a lot" happened, some useful things did happen, and it all happened after I finished the patch on my cracked and leaking bathtub. My day is described in greater detail, along with some notes about my sleep, and the start of this morning in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday started
nice and sunny, but that probably only lasted
two hours before it turned into sunny spells.
The forecast said rain in the afternoon, and
there were a few showers, but it was mostly
dry. Once again the temperature reached a very
cool feeling 14° C, but from sunset it started
to fall lower than it did the day before.
It has been bright
and sunny since sunrise. That was because of
the sky being clear, but that allowed the
temperature to fall to near 6° C. It is
possible that some more sheltered areas in
the south east could have seen frost this
morning ! Frost in September !!!! If the
forecast holds, it should continue with full
sunshine until 2pm. By then the temperature
should rise to 16° C. Tomorrow morning could
start a fraction less cold at 8° C, but once
again there should/could be full sunshine
all day long, and the afternoon should warm
up to 17° C, but even that seems a bit cool
for mid September. Tomorrow should be the
end of this cold spell, and it should warm
up a few degrees for at least a few days.

Yesterday started
nice and sunny, and it didn't completely stop.
The afternoon forecast was for showers, and I
half joked, but half believed, that some of
them would be sunny spells. we did get both -
mostly short showers, and longer sells of
sunshine, although sometimes it did come over
very dark as huge black clouds passed through
the sky. It was, as forecast, a rather cool
day with the temperature only reaching 14° C,
and falling to 10° C by midnight - and
continued to fall.
Curiously enough,
the forecast for today is very similar to
yesterday's forecast, and that includes the
afternoon temperature only reaching 14° C.
By my reckoning it was very slightly below
8° C at 7am. It is very sunny as I write
this, and it is warming up a little bit (and
hopefully more in my front rooms). The
sunshine will give way to sunny spells, and
then it is a gamble as to whether it
actually rain, or if the sunny spells
continue (like yesterday). Tomorrow may
start at just 7° C (just like in November),
but the full sunshine could last until 2pm
when sunny spells should last until sunset.
Not a single drop of rain is forecast for
tomorrow. It could even be a little bit
warmer with a maximum of 16° C possible.

For a day forecast
to be fairly wet, yesterday was remarkably
dry. That is not to say there was no rain at
all, but what fell was barely noticeable -
except late in the evening when I wasn't
really paying attention. Yesterday I sort of
joked that the rain forecast for 11am to 1pm
might actually be sunshine instead - it was !
Sadly it was still a cold day, and I am not
sure if the single hour forecast as 18° C
actually reached that, but most of the
afternoon did reach 17° C.
It is nice and
sunny this morning, but if the forecast
bears any relation to reality it will turn
to just sunny spells by 10am, and grey sky
by 1pm. From 2pm it might rain....or like
yesterday, it could revert to more sunny
spells. It is almost certainly going to be
cold with just 14° C predicted. Tomorrow may
be bright with lots of sunny spells, but
once again the best we can hope for may be
just 14° C.

Yesterday's weather
forecast was closer to right than the day
before that. The main error seemed to be that
the darker clouds were in the morning, and the
afternoon clouds were a bit lighter - the
opposite to the forecast. I can't seem to
remember the sunny spells at 6pm, and full
sunshine at 7pm happening, although before the
sky was completely dark I did see the moon
shining with no clouds near it. I think the
temperature forecast of 17° C was about right.
It did seem to be a very cool day.
It looks like
today is going to be pretty grim. The entire
sky is looking light grey at the moment.
Rain is forecast between 11am and 1pm, but
at worst there is a only 40% of it
happening. It could be the case, like it was
a few days ago, when instead of rain we had
sunny spells. There is a much bigger chance
of rain from 5pm. There is an 80% chance of
heavy rain at 8pm, but only for the one
hour. The temperature may briefly touch 18°
C, but 17° C, like yesterday, dominates the
middle of the day. Tomorrow could be bright
and sunny until 4pm when rain is expected
until 7pm. It is going to be even cooler
tomorrow, and while it may not feel too bad
in sunshine, just 14° C is more suited to
November I think.

Yesterday's weather
forecast turned out to be very wrong ! There
were a few showers in the morning that didn't
feature in the forecast. In the afternoon all
hours shown to feature rain were actully
periods of sunshine. The thunderstorm
originally predicted for 7pm was also replaced
by sunshine. Ignoring the first few hours of
the morning, I would describe yesterday as
warm and sunny. The one thing I am not sure
about was if the temperature exceeded the
forecast 18° C, but I feel sure it must have
done if only by a degree or two.
The dark grey
clouds originally predicted to start at 1pm
today seem to have started already. It is
very dim outside as I type this, but I
suppose the clouds are still grey, and
not black ! 6pm should see the
clouds break up, and 7pm should see full
sunshine - just as the sun sets. It seems
the best we can hope for today is just
17° C . Most of tomorrow will be dull, and
there could be a few showers. The evening is
most definitely shown as very wet. Once
again just 17° C is all we can expect.

Yesterday was
generally a grey day despite the forecast
suggesting there could be a few hours of sunny
spells in the morning (I think only 8am
featured a sunny spell). The evening was
supposed to be wet, but most of it wasn't. It
did start to rain very late, possibly after
midnight, and from then on the weather was
just like it was forecast - extremely wet and
thunderstorms, mostly some way away, from
about 2am for an hour or two. The afternoon
temperature did reach the forecast 21° C.
There was supposed
to be a sunny spell at 7am, and there nearly
was. The cloud seemed thin and broken, but
maybe the sun was still too low in the sky
to be seen. It should have stayed dry until
11am, but we have already had a few showers.
It is looking like today will be a terribly
grim, grey and depressing day. Rain could
fall from 11am until sunset, and the last
rain could be a thunderstorm. Today's
temperature may only reach 18° C. Tomorrow
could be mostly dark grey, but apparently it
may be a dry day. It will also be a cold
day. Just 17° C expected. It can only get
worse, and it will, Look at the minimum
temperatures for next Wednesday and Thursday
mornings - just 6° C !!

Yesterday's weather
was not as bad as forecast. Several hours in
the morning did not feature the forecast rain,
and a lot o9f tyhe rain that did fall was
little more than drizzle. There was some light
rain, but I don't think there was much from
mid afternoon onwards. From about 5pm it even
seemed to lighten up, but the clouds did not
thing enough to let any sunshine through. It
was quite a cool day with the temperature
bobbing up and down between 17 and 18° C
several times.
There was quite a
lot of mist in the small hours of this
morning. After getting up to pee at some
time in those small hours it almost looked
foggy when I peeped behind the curtains.
Once the mist cleared most of the sky looked
blue, and we had some sunshine. So far it
followed the forecast, but in the last half
hour, maybe a bit longer, it has clouded
over, and it looks quite dull outside. It is
not looking like the cloud will blow away
any time soon, and so the chances of seeing
the forecast sunny spells seems slim. Maybe
the evening rain will fall much earlier than
nthe forecast 8pm. Just 21° C is forecast
for today, but that may rely on the sunny
spells that may not happen. It is notable
that the Met Office forecast says the sunny
spells will finish at 10am. Tomorrow was
once forecast to be a nice day with sunny
spells. The latest prediction shows lots of
showers, and even a thunderstorm or two.
Maybe 18° C is the best that tomorrow may
bring.
Yesterday was a good day, although most of it was not super great, but more like gently satisfactory. Even the weather was almost good for a while in the late afternoon. I spent much of the morning being very lazy, although, on reflection, I spent most of the morning writing. My whole day, nigh, and some of this morning, is described as fully as I can remember, in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday's weather
was pretty horrible. It was always grey, and
sometimes it was dark grey. Not all the
forecast rain fell, but a lot did ! There was
at least one very heavy downpour. It seemed to
go on forever, but I doubt it lasted more than
20 minutes. Although the temperature was
forecast to reach 21° C, it felt like quite a
cool, and late autumn like day.
More rain is
forecast for today, but as I type this the
road outside seems to be drying. It seems to
have got a bit duller in the last 10 or 15
minutes, but I came close to saying it
seemed close to bright (but not sunny), but
that has now changed. It is definitely dull
now, and it could be this way for the rest
of the day. While rain is shown for most of
the day, for most hours the likelihood of
rain is shown as less than 50%. There could
be a lot less rain that the forecast shows.
It is definitely going to feel cold with two
highs of just 18° C. Tomorrow is currently
forecast to feature mostly sunny spells, but
with a low chance of a shower between them -
except for the evening when rain looks more
definite. It may be a little bit less cold
than today with 21° C expected.
Yesterday brought good times and bad times, although most times were quite bland. The very worst times were late evening, and once again I missed out on a good night's sleep. One the plus side, what may have caused the bad/terrible evening, was very delicious ! The rest of yesterday, plus my terrible night (again !!), and some notes about this morning, is all described in my complete archived page for today. |

Instead of sunny
spells, a lot of yesterday morning was grey,
although there were some sunny spells.
The afternoon was also grey, and so was the
evening, but the forecast rain didn't fall,
and there were no thunderstorms either. It was
a generally cool feeling day, although it did
seem humid and a bit sticky from time to time.
I think the forecast of just 19° C was about
right.
This morning
seemed extra chilly. It seemed like winter
was just around the corner. It is a grey
morning, and although the road outside looks
damp, I have not seen any rain yet. Almost
the whole day is forecast to see light
showers, and so I guess they are going to
happen sooner or later. A few may be heavy
showers. It doesn't seem likely, but a
maximum of 21° C is forecast for today. The
peak should be around 5pm. One notable thing
is that the humidity is forecast to reach
93% by 10am. That seems awfully high, but it
is a figure I don't usually follow. I may
keep an eye on it for future reference.
Tomorrow may be cold and wet. The day may
start at 18° C, but only rise to 19° C.
There were two bits of good news yesterday, but neither made much of an impact on a terrible day. One bit of good news was a notification of another Premium Bond win. I don't know how big it was yet, but the notification says they have reinvested the win as more Premium Bonds. To do that it had to be less than £100, and most likely just £25. The other bit of good news, and a whole heap of negative stuff, can be reading in my full archived page for today, which also includes how I didn't get to sleep until the early hours of this morning, and some mixed news about this morning. |

Yesterday morning
was dull and damp, but just when the next
forecast rain, possibly including a
thunderstorm, came around, the clouds broke
up, and the afternoon was mostly sunny and
warm. I think the temperature rose a couple of
degrees above the forecast 22° C.
Recent forecasts
have not matched reality that well, and I
don't really trust the weather forecast for
today, as updates at 6am. Nothing obvious
has changed in the 8am update. The weather
warning shown refers to expected heavy rain
later in the afternoon, and yet only light
rain is shown in the forecast. Once again,
like the recent warning of thunderstorms, I
suspect it refers to somewhere else in
London or Kent. It is not going to be very
warm at just 19° C, although I realise that
back in January we would have thought that
as like a heatwave. It looks tomorrow will
be very wet, but maybe only in a persistent
drizzle sort of way, although the mysterious
heavy rain from the weather warning might
materialise. Tomorrow temperture will only
rise very slowly to a brief peak of 20° C
around 5pm.
Yesterday was one of those days that was not good. Bits of it were OK, but I definitely did not feel in the right mood to more than slightly moderate my food intake. I had several snacks, and other wrong choices. I seem to have put on over half a kilogram overnight, which means this morning had started depressing too. My day is more fully described, along with my night, and the start of this morning, in my complete archived page for today. |

There was a lot more
rain that was forecast for yesterday, although
much of it was drizzle, and I don't think
there was any heavy rain. It was enough to
make everything look damp through the day. It
may have contributed to high humidity. The
highest temperature of 22° C was not that
warm, but it seemed stupidly easy to work up a
sweat. I think I remember one or two brief,
almost a flash, sunny spells.
It seems like
today will be very similar to yesterday.
None are shown on the forecast, but we have
already had some drizzle this morning. Light
rain is shown for midday, 1pm, 3pm, and 6pm,
but I think there may be more than that in
reality. On the other hand, we did have a
few minutes of sunshine just now, and that
wasn't shown on the forecast either. The Met
Office forecast does show sunny spells from
10 to midday (when it is in agreement about
a light shower), and more sunny spells from
6pm and 7pm. Both forecasters agree that
today could see 21° C, or even 22° C.
Tomorrow may start with sunny spells, but
there will be light rain later, and it will
be cooler at just 19° C.
Yesterday was another morning when I believed I had had a good sleep, but after taking a rest of after writing my 2013 words, I ended up having another snooze. I am unsure if this is a getting old thing, or getting ready for a long cold winter sort of thing. Yesterday was not exactly an exciting day, but I have done my best to describe all that can be described about my day, last night, and the start of this morning in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday my have
started with only sunny spells, but there was
full sunshine by midday, and maybe a little
earlier. It drove the temperature up to a very
hot feeling 27° C.
It was quite a
mild night, and it was still 19° C at
7amthis morning. The forecasts for this
morning seem very vague. As per the
screenshot above, the BBC say there will be
drizzle at 8am, or now as I type this, but
it seems dry for now. The Met Office
predicted the first half of the morning
would be misty, but it seems clear to me. It
is most definitely rather dull and gloomy,
and so rain doesn't seem unlikely. It is
possible we will get a single sunny spell at
2pm, and that will be the second hour of it
reaching 22° C. After 3pm the temperature
drops slowly to 18° C at midnight. Tomorrow
may see some light rain in the morning, and
a few sunny spells later in the afternoon.
It may only be 21° C maximum.
Yesterday was one of those days when not a lot really happened. After I finished writing I laid down, as usual, to do a bit of reading from the book I was reading (I finished it yesterday), and despite thinking I had a good nights sleep, possibly getting as much as 9 hours, I had a brief snooze ! The rest of my day, night, and the start of this morning are describes as fully as I can remember in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday was very
disappointing. There were hardly any sunny
spells at all, and now and then it felt like
it was about to rain. I am sure I felt a few
misty drops hit my face. I didn't get a chance
to check for myself, but I think the forecast
21° C for mid afternoon was about right, and
that felt good enough in just a t-shirt.
There is quite a
lot of cloud at the moment, but the sun
occasionally peeps through. From 1pm we may
get full sunshine. It should help raise the
afternoon temperature to 26° C. The weather
warning bar in the screenshot above refers
to tomorrow, or at least it did. Last
night's version of the forecast for tomorrow
included a few lightning bolts. The latest
forecast for tomorrow just shows a mostly
very dull morning, and start to the
afternoon. It does include drizzle at 11am,
and sunny spells in the afternoon, but no
lighting bolts. The temperature could rise
to a fair 22° C.
Yesterday was probably one of the best days for some time. That is not to say it was all good. The morning was a time of great indecision, and also a time of some resting, and even snoozing, but eventually I had a nice shower, and got ready to go out. I have plenty of photos to show from my day out (well, actually lightly less than 3 hours) and it is all described, along with notes about my sleep and this morning, in my complete archived page for today. |
