My
Electronic Diary For November 2024 |
Saturday 30th November 2024 |
09:11 GMT
Yesterday was bright and sunny, but it was still very cold. The temperature rose to 9° C by 1pm, and then started to drop again after 2pm. At 10pm the temperature started to rise again, but only to 8° C at midnight. It looks damp
outside, as if there was some rain during the
night. There is no rain now, and the
temperature has risen to 11° C. That is one
degree less than forecast. It is going to be a
grey day today. No rain at all is forecast to
fall, and the temperature should still rise to
13° C for all the afternoon until sunset when
it will slowly fall a single degree. Tomorrow
will probably see the return of rain, although
at the moment it seems like it will be a few
random passing showers. Once again the
afternoon temperature should be 13° C.
Yesterday was not a bad day, but I feel reluctant to go as far as to say it was a good day, although I am forced to admit that a few bits may have been good.....or maybe I just did a few things that would later have a good outcome. That was mostly to do with regulating my eating better. My day, plus my night, and also some of this morning, are fully described in my complete archived page for today. |
Friday 29th November 2024 |
09:37 GMT
Yesterday was bright and sunny, but it was still very cold. The temperature rose to 5° C by 1pm, and then started to drop again after 4pm. Most of the evening was just 4° C, but then it was forecast to rise a degree at 11pm. I'm not sure it did. I'm very sure it was
not 5° C at 8am, but more like 2° C. There was
a very thick frost this morning because of the
sky being clear for most of the night. The sky
should stay clear until 9pm, and there will be
non stop sunshine for all daylight hours. The
temperature is forecast to peak at 1pm, and
then it should be 9° C. With the
temperature now (9.43am) still a smidgen away
from 5° C, it is possible today's high may not
be as high as forecast. There will be some
cloud from about 9pm, and the temperature
should rise again. The temperature at 6am
tomorrow morning is forecast to be about 9° C.
It will probably be all dull tomorrow, but a
maximum of 13° C is about the best
compensation for that we can hope for.
Yesterday started as a disaster - huge weight gain, and horrendous blood glucose readings - but I did get things under control for a while, and indeed I did get things very much under control later for some good readings this morning, but the bad effects were still apparent in the afternoon. All this and more is expanded on, and explained, together with some notes about my night and this morning, in my complete archived page for today. |
Thursday 28th November 2024 |
09:18 GMT
Yesterday was dull and cold. There was not a lot of wind, and so 7° C, the afternoon temperature didn't feel that bad. There was some early morning rain and drizzle, but it soon stopped, and most of the day was dry. After yesterday's
gloom it is very nice to see bright sunshine
today. Unfortunately a most clear night means
this morning the temperature is low enough for
a thick frost. By 1pm it should reach 5° C.
From then on there will only be a dip to 4° C,
and then by 11pm it will be back at 5° C.
Tomorrow should also be dry and sunny, and it
will be warmer too, with the temperature
peaking at 9° C.
Yesterday was a great day, but it was another that ended in disaster - and it was of my own making, aided by a fair bit of booze. Basically, under the influence of booze, I ate enough to ruin my blood glucose and weight measurements. All this and more, including a few photos, plus notes about my night, and this morning, can be read in my complete archived page for today. |
Wednesday 27th November 2024 |
09:13 GMT
Yesterday was another sunny day, but also a day that felt cold. The temperature did get to 9° C, and the sunshine did raise the temperature a lot higher inside, behind glass, but outside still felt rather cool. The forecast
for today keeps changing. Yesterday's forecast
showed today as being very wet and rainy. The
Met Office forecast for today shows it being
dry, but heavily overcast. The BBC forecast
still shows some light rain and drizzle that
should be ending about now, and in fact I
think it could have stopped an hour ago or
more. The latest revision shows heavy cloud
until 1pm, and then lighter cloud for the rest
of the day. The temperature is falling from 9°
C, at the start of this morning, down to just
6° C all afternoon. After sunset the
temperature will slowly drop down to 2° C by
4am tomorrow morning. Apart from some morning
mist, tomorrow should be completely dry, and
it might be very sunny, but also very cold.
Just 5° C is forecast for the afternoon.
Yesterday was another day where I did a couple of important things, and almost nothing else. I can't really describe as a boring day, and I did start a small project out of curiosity. After writing yesterday's edition (edition ?) of this diary, I started the day under the shower. My whole day, night, and also this morning is all described in my complete archived page for today. |
Tuesday 26th November 2024 |
08:54 GMT
Yesterday was a fairly nice day with regard to the weather. It took a few hours longer than forecast for the clouds to break up enough for sunny spells. From about 11am, when the sunshine should have given away to sunny spells, there was actually long periods of sunshine. The temperature only reached 11° C, but there seemed to be very little wind, and it seemed mild enough to open a few windows for a few hours of fresh air. Today clear
skies are forecast, and non stop sunshine for
all the daylight hours. I feel sure I saw
clouds on the eastern horizon at daybreak, but
the sky is looking almost clear now, and the
sun is now shining. Sadly it may only raise
the temperature from 7° C to 9° C. By 11pm the
temperature will be back down to 7° C, the
clouds will have thickened, and it will start
raining. Overnight rain is the best time for
it if it has to rain. By 6am tomorrow the rain
will be quite heavy, and it could continue
until 10am when the rain will change to light
rain until midday. From then on it should be
dry, but also rather dull. The end of the
heavy rain will also see the temperature start
to slowly drop from 9° C to just 4° C by
midnight.
Yesterday seemed to have weather that was nice enough to make me almost happy. I did make use of it in several ways, but none of them involved going out for a walk, or some sort of railway exploration/photography. The first thing I did was to have a shower. All I did yesterday, how I slept, and some notes and thoughts about this morning, can all be read in my complete archived page for today. |
Monday 25th November 2024 |
09:14 GMT
Yesterday was actually warm, or maybe near warm. From before daybreak until 6pm, the temperature was 16° C. After that the temperature slowly feel to 11° C. The strongest feature about the weather was the very strong gusty winds. The morning featured some thin and watery sunny spells. The evening featured rain, and sometimes it was quite strong rain. This morning
started at closer to 12° C thanks to more
cloud than predicted. The full sunshine shown
on the forecast above is still struggling to
come through as I write this, but in the last
half hour we have had a couple of sunny
spells, albeit rather short, and not full
strength. I guess that means there is hope
that the sky will eventually clear, before it
gets cloudy again, and we only get sunny
spells from 11am until 3pm when the cloud
thickens a bit and the temperature starts to
fall. Clear skies in the early hours of
tomorrow will see 8am tomorrow as low as 6° C,
but it will warm up a bit thanks to some full
sunshine until sunset. The maximum temperature
tomorrow may only be 9° C. After a brief
flirtation with some warmth, it seems we are
plunging back into winter again.
After my lack of sleep in the night, I did not feel very dynamic yesterday. While it seemed warm enough to go out without a coat, and there were some sunny spells, I could not raise the enthusiasm or energy (although the latter was probably mostly imagined) to go out yesterday morning. What I did do yesterday, plus the usual notes about my night, and this morning, can all be read in my complete archived page for today. |
Sunday 24th November 2024 |
10:20
GMT
The temperature may have risen to 15° C as yesterday ended, but it started at just 7° C. With very grey skies, and copious, albeit mostly light rain all through the day, it could easily be described as a very horrible sort of day, and indeed that is exactly what it was. It was also very depressing. This morning
has started at 16° C, and we have seen at
least one short, and a bit watery, sunny
spells. The forecast says there should be more
to come. The grey sky says it is actually
unlikely. I haven't really noticed them
indoors, but there are supposed to be some
very gusty winds to stir everything up, and
blow more leaves off the trees. The last sunny
spells, if we haven't already had it, may be
at 1pm, and then the rest of the afternoon
will be dull. From 6pm rain will return, and
very late at night it could be quite heavy.
Meanwhile from 7pm the temperature may drop to
just 11° C by 1am tomorrow. Tomorrow could be
bright and cheerful until 4pm, but from 5pm,
after sunset so we won't see any sunshine, the
sky should clear, and of course the
temperature will start to drop. It may be done
to 7° C at midnight.
Another very late start to writing the electronic diary this morning. I had better try and keep today's writing brief, and that may be easier because yesterday was a really horrible day when not a lot happened except for some very bad insomnia last night, and the reason for being so late this morning. There were only a few things worth commenting on yesterday, and they can be read, along with notes about my night, and this morning, in my archived page for today. |
Saturday 23rd November 2024 |
09:28
GMT
There were some nice sunny spells yesterday, although I seem to remember they started later than forecast. While they were nice they did little to make it warmer, and that was because the sun was so low in the sky that anything could block it - and did ! The temperature rose to 6° C, but it still felt very cold. Today started
very damp after rain during the night. It
seemed like the rain had stopped for a while,
but I can now see that the rain is very fine
rain, and difficult to see. That may be the
case for most of the day. It is the sort of
rain that gets you saturated without you
realising it is happening until it has
happened. The temperature will slowly climb
from just 7° C to 15° C by the end of this
soggy day. It could almost feel nice if you
wanted to stand in the rain at midnight. One
important thing about today's weather is very
strong winds, and they will continue tomorrow.
Tomorrow was, if I recall correctly, going to
be another very wet day, but the latest update
shows the day being dull, but dry until rain
resumes in the early evening. The temperature
could rise to 16° C, and if it was dry and
bright that could be t-shirt weather !
Yesterday was a rather good day, and it was mostly because I did what I didn't think I would do. I mean that more literally than it reads because what I did was a bit different to even my optimistic predictions. With no more than a quick flick with a damp flannel, and a squirt of deodorant, I went out into the big wild world ! My day is described with some photos, together with notes about my night and this morning, in my complete archived page for today. |
Friday 22nd November 2024 |
10:08
GMT
It took to at least 11am (forecast time), and maybe even a bit later for the sun to break through, and then we had full sunshine for the last 3 hours of daylight. The sunshine raised the temperature from 1° C to 3° C, and so with help from a strongn breeze at times, it was a flipping cold day ! Today should
be a bit warmer than yesterday. The sunny
spells started quite early. and there will be
some full sunshine to warm the middle of the
day up to a marvellous (sic) 6° C. At least it
should be another dry day. By midnight the
temperature will have fallen down to just 2°
C. By 5am tomorrow morning, the temperature
will have risen to 3° C, and the first rain
will fall. At that temperature it would be no
surprise if that rain did not fall as sleet or
even snow. That rain will continue, maybe non
stop through the day. As it rains the
temperature will rise, and at midnight the
temperature will have risen to an almost warm
14° C. Most if the day after will be the same
temperature, and it will also rain all day.
Just to make tomorrow (and the day after) even
worse there could be some very strong gusty
winds.
After an extremely late start this morning, it is handy that I don't think I have a lot to say about yesterday, or maybe I can cut the waffle, and just concentrate on the basics. For instance I can say that I had a morning shower in one sentence. A few more paragraphs and the day could be over. Those paragraphs about yesterday, last night, and also about this morning, can all be read in my complete archived page for today. |
Thursday 21st November 2024 |
08:28
GMT
There is no doubt that a lot of yesterday was bright and sunny, but it was still really cold. To make matters worse there was quite a bit of wind, and that made 4° C feel extra cold. Today's
forecast says it will be very dull until 11am,
and it certainly is very dull as I write this.
What is more worrying is the the barometers in
my thermometers all say the pressure is
dropping, and rain should be expected. If it
does rain, contrary to the forecast, that rain
is going to fall as snow ! It is just 1° C
now, and maybe it will warm up to 3° C by 1pm.
A few hours later it will slowly go back down
to just 1° C again - and all that assumes we
will have sunny spells at first, and then
bright sunshine for the afternoon. Tomorrow
may be a little warmer - a peak of 5° C is
predicted. There could be some sunny spells
for a lot of the very few daylight hours we
are getting at this time of year, but it will
still be pretty miserable, like today.
Yesterday was one of those good and bad days, and it was mostly because I was waiting in for another box of beers to be delivered, and I had no idea when it would arrive. I hoped it would be at about the same time as the delivery the day before, but it was much later, and that messed up my day. What actually happened yesterday, how I slept last night, and some notes about this morning, are all described in my complete archived page for today. |
Wednesday 20th November 2024 |
08:56
GMT
Yesterday's was cold and wet until about 4pm when it became dry and even colder. Most of the morning was just 4° C, and then, from 4pm, the temperature dropped a degree, and then another, until at midnight it was just 1° C. Clear skies
through much of the night allowed the
temperature to hit 0° C early this morning.
Sunny spells and sunshine should raise the
temperature to 4° C by midday. Full sunshine
should shine from midday, but even before
sunset the temperature will drop a degree, and
like yesterday, it will be down to 0° C again
by midnight. Tomorrow is currently forecast to
be very similar to today, but tomorrow the
maximum temperature may only be 3° C !
Yesterday turned out to be quite a good day, and although the goodness sagged a bit later in the day, it was revived just before midnight. One highlight of the day was the delivery of what turned out to be 2/3rds of one of my two beer orders. It came in time to report on it before I finished writing yesterday. The rest of yesterday, and then last night, and this morning, is all described, with some photos, in my complete archived page for today. |
Tuesday 19th November 2024 |
09:32
GMT
Yesterday's weather was a bit odd. The temperature was just 7° C from early morning until it started to rise at 10pm. I have my doubts that it hit 11° C at 2am this morning, but it was heading that way. The forecast predicted rain starting at 4pm, but I seem to think it may have been a couple of hours earlier than that. It was difficult to tell because the first rain was so light that all you you could really see is things getting wetter and wetter. On the whole an unpleasant day. If yesterday
was unpleasant then today is going to be
positively horrible ! I think it was raining
through all the early hours of this morning,
and it might not stop until 4pm. With the
temperature as low as 3° C at 9am it was
little surprise to see some sleet mixed in
with the rain - a prediction that The Met
Office made, but not the BBC. It is good thing
(probably) that the rain stops at 4pm because
at 5pm the temperature drops from a mere 4° C
down to just 1° C by midnight. Any rain would
fall as snow at those temperature. Tomorrow at
6am it will still be 1° C, and the skies will
be clear, as soon as the sun rises we should
non stop sunshine until sunset. That will only
raise the temperature to 4° C by midday. Three
hours later it will start to fall, and it will
reach 0° C by midnight.
At the same time that the year is now seeming to run out very fast, we seemed to have really plunged headlong into winter already. It feels like this winter could be very harsh, and with no pensioners winter heating allowance this year, it could be a very harsh time for many of us. My full day, night and also stuff this morning is described in over 3000 words (almost a record) in my complete archived page for today. |
Monday 18th November 2024 |
08:41
GMT
It was later in the morning that the sunny spells forecast for yesterday started, and then they seemed to finish early. Afte an hour they started again, and there was an hour or two of sometimes brief sunny spells when the forecast said there should be none. The forecast said 7pm when it was supposed to start raining. Maybe it was, but I think it might have been an hour or two later, and then it rained through to the early hours of this morning. The highest temperature yesterdayw as just 9° C. Against all expectation we
are having a sunny spell as I type this. No
sunshine at all if forecast for today, and so
it will be interesting to see if this sunny
spells, or more sunny spells continue for
long. All my thermometers agree the current
temperature is 9° C, and that is not supposed
to happen until 11pm. It is supposed to be a
very flat 7° C until the temperature starts to
rise at 10pm. At this rate it may, or may not
start to rain at 4pm ! Tomorrow may start at
8° C, but is will slowly fall down to 2° C by
midnight. During that time there may be a
sunny spells, and there may be a shower, but
most of all it will be cold !
Yesterday was another day where very little happened. There were more sunny spells than expected/forecast, and that should have been a lure to go out to stretch my legs, but it was also nice to lay on my bed, with the sunshine coming through the windows, being lazy at a professional level ! There was more to my day than just being lazy, and it is described, along with some notes about my night, and this morning in my complete archived page for today. |
Sunday 17th November 2024 |
09:04
GMT
Yesterday can only be described as cold and dull, with the added "pleasure" of rain in the evening. The maximum temperature was forecast as 10° C, and maybe it was, but it seemed to feel colder because of the miserable grey sky. This morning there
are nice sunny spells. I know this because the
forecast says there are, but it seems no one
bothered to tell the real weather because it
is actually quite grey outside. There are
patches of white cloud between the grey
clouds, and maybe one of those will open up
and let a few rays of sunshine through - but I
am not holding my breath waiting for it to
happen. The afternoon is forecast to be dull,
and like yesterday there could be some rain in
the evening. The afternoon high will probably
be no higher than 9° C, but it could always be
less. Tomorrow may start and end warmer than
the middle. From 7am to 8pm the temperature
may only be a chilly 7° C. Most of the
day may feature light rain.
Yesterday was one of "those" days. What one of "those" days actually is will be revealed as I describe my day, but a good starting point is that my right elbow and shoulder, the barometer function on some of my thermometers, and the weather forecast all agreed that rain was on the way. My full day, plus my night, a bit of one dream, and some notes about this morning can all be read in my complete archived page for today. |
Saturday 16th November 2024 |
09:23
GMT
The forecast said sunshine and sunny spells, and there were one or two, but 99% of the dayw as just dull and cold again. The temperature only rose to 10° C, and once again it felt very cold outside. My right elbow, and
the barometer function on my thermometers say
rain is on the way, and it seems the forecast
agrees, but not until 7pm tonight when it
should start with drizzle. After that there
will be 3 hours of light rain. This morning
didn't start at 6° C. All my thermometers say
it was around 9° C. The afternoon may only see
10° C. It is currently, and will stay this way
all day, very dull. Tomorrow may be even
cooler, with a high of just 9° C, but it is
possible there will be many hours of sunny
spells.
Yesterday may have started with me feeling horrible, but somehow I was feeling good from early afternoon. It seemed like all aches and pains had faded away. Of course that did come at the expense of burning a lot of electricity to keep the room, and much later, two rooms warm. All this and a lot more is described, along with notes about my night, and this morning, in my complete archived page for today. |

Despite the forecast saying differently, all of yesterday was cold and dull. The temperature may well have risen to 11° C, but it felt shivery cold to me. Today's weather
forecast has got off to a very bad start. It
is very cloudy, and that has kept the
temperature up to 10° C this morning. It also
means no sunny spells, and from the look of
the sky there won't be any for hours yet, if
indeed there are any today ! Considering it is
already 10° C now, it make me wonder what the
afternoon temperature will be. Maybe it will
be a flat 10° C until it starts to fall at
sunset. Tomorrow is set to start where today
leaves off, 6° C, and with not a ray of
sunshine predicted it will only rise to, once
again, 10° C. From 7pm there might be light
rain.
Yesterday did not end up well, but I did manage to get home from the hospital at about two minutes after 4pm - the time I told Jodie I would be home. The bad thing was that I had some bad chest pains in the evening, and I am very sure they were not heart or indigestion pains. As usual, my whole day, plus night, and this morning, is all described in my complete archived page for today. |
Thursday 14th November 2024 |
09:28

Lots of sunshine were forecast for yesterday, and as far as I can recall, there was actually very little sunshine. From 2pm it was most definitely dull and cold. I am not even sure the afternoon temperature reached the forecast 11° C. After my experience
yesterday I am taking the idea of sunny spells
this afternoon with a pinch of salt. Maybe the
temperature will reach the forecast 11° C, but
with no sunshine it will feel very cold. By
1am tomorrow morning the temperature will have
dropped to 4° C. It will continue to drop and
tomorrow morning may start as low as just 3°
C. It might possibly be a bright days with
sunny spells and possibly a full hour of non
stop sunshine at 1 and 3pm, but the
temperature is only forecast to rise to 10° C.
We have some very cold weather on the way if
the long range forecast has any credibility.
Tuesday and Wednesday of next week may see
daytime temperature only reaching 4° C. That
is cold enough for rain to fall as sleet !
Yesterday started off good, but ended very badly. I was looking forward to my lunchtime drink in The Jolly Farmers, and had a good shower, although I didn't wash my hair, and I didn't have a wet shave. I did use my beard trimmer with the shield off to have a quick buzz over the worst of the stubble. The good and the bad bit of yesterday, plus notes about my night and this morning, can all be read in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday eventually started as bright and sunny, albeit later than forecast, but it did not last long. By midday the clouds were getting thicker, and we seemed to lose all sunshine by 1pm. From then on it was another dull and dreary day. It wasn't even very warm. Just a mere 11° C The forecast
sunshine is also late today. I can see some
blue areas of sky, but they are all in the
west instead of the east where the sun is.
Hopefully the clouds will split up, or thin,
later, and we shall get the promised sunny
day. Once again the temperature will only rise
to 11° C. Tomorrow may also only see a maximum
of 11° C. It may be a mostly dull day, but
with the chance of a few sunny spells in the
afternoon.
I covered just about all of yesterday morning yesterday when I resumed writing after getting back from the Group Practice where I gave me blood and urine samples, and picked up my repeat prescription (except the test strips for my nurse issued blood glucose meter, which they seemed to forget). The rest of my day, yesterday, and the usual notes about my sleep, and about this morning, can all be read in my complete archived page for today. |

GMT
Like last Monday, yesterday was a nice sunny day, but at just 11° C it wasn't exactly warm, but warm enough.. Today should be
starting with full sunshine, but there seems
enough thin cloud to make the sunshine quite
weak and watery (although as I write this it
is still very low in the sky, and I think it
is still below the roof line). By late morning
the full sunshine will give way to sunny
spells, and once again the temperature should
reach 11° C. Tomorrow should also be very
sunny, but once again it may only reach 11° C.
It's very early start today because I am due to give blood samples at 8.45am. At some point I will have to pause writing to go and see the vampires. Back to yesterday, and on the whole, it was one of the better days. Like Monday of last week, I managed to get myself out for a walk. My day, with a lot of pictures, is described along with some notes about my night, and also about this morning, in my complete archived page for today. |
Monday 11th November 2024 |
09:14
GMT
Yesterday was yet another grey and cold day. There was no hint of any sunshine, but at least it was very slightly less cold with the temperature reaching 11° C. It was rather
marvellous to open the curtains this morning
and see sunshine. At the moment the sky looks
rather cloudy, and we may have to wait for a
bit if the sky is to clear to allow full
sunshine for the rest of the day - if it
happens. All that sunshine may only raise the
temperature by two degrees to 11° C. Clear
skies mean tomorrow may start at just 7° C,
but there should be just enough sunshine to
warm it up to 11° C again, although the
afternoon may actually be dull after sunny
spells and sunshine in the morning.
Yesterday included a sad disaster, a lot of waiting, some unusually careful eating, and some good-ish news. One thing it didn't start with was a shower. With the admittedly highly unlikely possibility of Amazon delivering my parcel early, and also definite news that Jodie would not be drinking with me, I just never got around to showering. All I did, and all that happened yesterday, plus how I slept, and notes about this morning can be read in my full archived page for today. |

GMT
Yesterday was another grey and cold day. It was probably the coldest day we've had so far with the temperature only reaching 9° C. I#m unsure if today
really started at 7° C - it was 8° C when I
first checked ! One thing about this morning
was that there were a few gaps in the cloud,
and for a few minutes one such gap allowed a
few rays of sunshine through. The cloud has
since thickened up. Today may only be light to
medium grey (although I am seeing slightly
darker grey clouds at the moment), but it
should stay dry, and the afternoon temperature
should reach 11° C - which is still very cool,
but better than yesterday. Tomorrow may
actually see full sunshine for quite a few
hours, but the temperature will still not
climb above 11° C.
The weather may have been cold and grey, but yesterday got off to a good start....err maybe a fairly good start, with one bad bit may be closer to the truth. I didn't manage to raise the enthusiasm to wash my hair, and it did need washing, but I did have a nice scrub under the shower. The rest of my day, plus notes about my sleep, including dreams, and this morning, is all described in my complete archived page for today. |
Saturday 9th November 2024 |
08:16

Yesterday was grey and cold. The afternoon temperature only reached 12° C, the forecast sunny spells never happened. The Met Office says
every hour will be overcast. The BBC at least
say that some hours will be medium grey, and
others will be very grey. The afternoon
temperature will be a shivery 9° C. Before and
after that it will be very shivery at 8° C
until 9pm when the temperature will drop
another degree. It should stay dry.
Tomorrow might see a few sunny spells (I'll
believe it when I see it), and the temperature
may briefly peak at 12° C, but mostly it will
be 12° C after a 6° C start to the day.
Yesterday was a terrible day. Any positive ideas I might have had were trampled under the relentless cold and very grey weather. Apart from a bit of cooking, I don't think I did a notable thing all day long. I mostly read, either from my book, or stuff on my PC. All I did do during the day, how I slept, and some notes and thoughts this morning, are all described in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday was grey and cold. The afternoon temperature only reached 13° C. In BBC world that
could be some sunny spells starting from 11am
(although there is no hint that it could
happen yet). The Met Office predict thick
dirty clouds all day long. Both say it will be
a dry day, and both agree that this afternoon
will be no warmer than 12° C. Tomorrow
may feature grey skies all day long. No rain
is forecast, but it may be a degree less cold
than today.
Yesterday started far better than the dull and dreary weather. By mid afternoon it took a turn for the worst, and it was bad on a number of layers, but a bit of it was quite good. The explanation of all that comes later, but at this stage I can say the badness has it's roots in the day before yesterday. Some of it is unpleasant, but not all, and my day is more fully described, along with night, and this morning in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday was a mix of dull and duller. There was definitely not a single ray of sunshine, but there was sometimes the feel of very light misty rain. The temperature may have briefly peaked at 13° C. Apart from a longer
spell at 13° C, today seems like it will be
the same as yesterday - which was hardly
pleasant ! Tomorrow may start quite cold, just
9° C, but from as early as 11am there could be
sunny spells that will warm it up to a far
from glorious 12° C.
There are reasons why yesterday was good and bad. The good was not very good, and the bad definitely was bad, but there were some probably bad things that may not have actually been that bad. Confused ? You should be, but I'll explain all. The good, the bad, and all points between is described, along with some pictures, plus some notes about my night, and this morning in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday was uniformly light grey. The forecast sunny spells in the afternoon never materialised, although the clouds seemed to thin enough to make it look a little less dull. The afternoon temperature was as forecast, 13° C. Today is the day, or
at least one of them, that The Met Office says
will feature mist all day long. At the moment
there does seem to be a very light haze, but I
don't think I would describe it as mist. The
BBC say that this morning will start off with
heavy cloud, and that seems right. By mid
morning the cloud will be lighter, but no
sunny spells, or rain for that matter, are
forecast. There may be a brief, one hour, rise
to 13° C, but most of the afternoon may only
see 12° C. Tomorrow may feature light cloud
all day with no sunny spells and no rain. It
might be a single degree warmer in the
afternoon with 13° C forecast for the whole
afternoon.
In contrast to the day before yesterday, yesterday was very quiet. I never had a shower, and I didn't go out - except just once when I delivered an Amazon order to a neighbour after it was left here. Other than that, I can't think of an interesting or useful thing I did all day. The few things I did do, plus how I slept, and some notes about this morning, can all be read in my complete archived paged for today. |

Yesterday was better than forecast. After a dull start the first sunny spells started by, and maybe even slightly before midday. The temperature only rose to 13° C, but it felt nice in those sunny spells. The Met Office
forecast is simple to describe. It says mist
for all 24 hours, and a maximum temperature of
12° C. As far as I can see there is no more
than a slight haze towards the horizon. The
BBC forecast is a lot like yesterday except
the sunny spells are shown as starting as late
as 2pm. If, like yesterday, they start
earlier, say midday, they could make the
rather low 13° C feel OK. Today should be dry,
and so will tomorrow. Tomorrow may actually be
a single degree warmer at 14° C, but at the
moment only a single hour, 4pm, may feature a
sunny spell. The Met Office say tomorrow will
be misty except for the afternoon, and that
will feature thick dark cloud.
Yesterday was a good day for several reasons. One was some good news from Angela. Her doctors realised she could not handle the chemo therapy, and have stopped it. That made Angela very happy. She will continue to have radiotherapy. The other good news, in simplified form, is I got some fresh air ! All I did yesterday, including a host of photos, plus some notes about my night, and this morning, can all be seen in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday was another horrid day, although this time it was only the weather, and in particular the cold grey light, that was so horrid. The temperature only reached 14° C. Todaywas originally
forecast to be as bad as yesterday, but now a
few hours of sunny spells are shown for the
afternoon. Even the Met Office forecast shows
them. It will still be cold, and just 13° C is
expected. There is a big difference between
the forecasts on the BBC and Met Office for
tomorrow. The BBC says thick grey clouds all
day, but the BBC says lighter clouds, and as
much as 5 hours of sunny spells in the
afternoon. Both agree that it will be rather
cool again, maybe even cold if the clouds are
dark grey. Just 13° C is forecast again.
Yesterday's weather had all the ingredients for another horrible day, and indeed the weather was very depressing, but somehow the day was nowhere near as depressing as the day before. I didn't really do much, but I didn't seem to be particularly bored and miserable. I describe what I did do yesterday, made some notes about my sleep last night, and the same for this morning, and all can be read in my complete archived page for today. |

I think that yesterday can be summed as "horrid", and it was more than just the weather, although the weather was the root cause of it. It was a terribly dull day that was also rather cool, and sometimes wet. No rain was forecast for yesterday, but there was a lot of fine drizzle, usually too fine to easily see, and yet enough of it to make the roads and pavements wet. The maximum temperature was 15° C, and that wouldn't sound too bad, and even possibly nice in full sunshine, but with the sky a thick medium grey it felt very cold. Today could be as
bad as yesterday. It is medium grey now, and
could be all day. Once again no rain is
forecast, but at the moment the road outside
seems to be bone dry. The best we can hope for
is 14° C, but in this cold grey light it is
going to feel pretty cold. Tomorrow may start
misty (and maybe that prediction could be
right this time) and there could be some sunny
spells in the afternoon, but even so, a single
hour at 14° C is not going to make it feel any
less cold.
As mentioned in the paragraph about yesterday's weather, at the top of the page, yesterday was most horrid. I think all the blame for it being horrid lies with the horrible weather. I felt pretty awful yesterday. Maybe some was some sort of long distance empathy with Angela who I believe was having a horrid day too. It all meant I did not do a lot yesterday, but I did do some things, and these plus notes about my night and this morning are all described in my complete archived page for today. |

Later revisions to the forecast added an extra hour to the sunny spells predicted at 2 and 3pm yesterday. I don't remember seeing any more than a few seconds of sunshine, and I think that was ealier in the afternoon. yesterday was dull from start to end, and with a maximum temperature of just 13° C it was mild reminder of the coming winter. It is certainly very
dull now, but maybe it will get a bit brighter
after 11am. The Met Office describes every
hour of today as being "overcast". They are a
bit more generous with the temperature and
predict a single hour at 15° C, but 14° C for
most of the afternoon. The BBC say 15° C for
three hours this afternoon. The Met Office say
all of tomorrow will be overcast with heavy
grey clouds, but the BBC say light grey
clouds. Both agree on a max 13° C
tomorrow.
Yesterday could be described as a quite sort of day with very little happening. I didn't go out anywhere at all, and I saw and spoke to no one all day long. One consequence of that was that I never got around to having a shower yesterday. However I did do a few useful things, and these plus other stuff, including my night, and this morning, are all described in my complete archived page for today. |

Apart from (once again) not a sign of the forecast mist, yesterday had a very accurate forecast. It was dull, but dry all day, and the temperature reached 15° C. If we are lucky
there may be a sunny spell at 2pm, but
otherwise, today is just going to be a
slightly cooler version of yesterday - dull,
but dry. The afternoon temperature may only
reach 13° C. Tomorrow may see a couple
of hours of drizzle in the morning, but then
it will be another dull but dry day, although,
having said that, some of the cloud could be
thick and darker in the morning.
This morning must feature one of the latest starts I have made when writing this electronic diary. I had a bit of an unexpected lie in this morning - one minute it was just gone 6am, and in the blink of an eye it was 8am ! After that there were a few things that stopped me writing sooner, and one was composing some positive things to say to Angela who messaged me to say that she was feeling bad as a result of the radiotherapy. I managed to keep my description of yesterday, last night, and this morning fairly brief, and it is all described in my complete archived page for today. |
